1) You believe George W. Bush’s redistribution of middle-class tax cuts to the top 1% of tax-payers was good for America, but Obama’s plan to return it to the middle class is ‘socialism.’
2) You believe stem cells are living human beings, but thousands of Iraqi children are ‘expendable collateral damage.’
3) You believe tax cuts for billionaires is a great idea, yet you wonder why the economy has stalled, your job just got outsourced to India, and oil company executives receive $400,000,000.00 retirement packages.
4) You believe the surge worked because the violence in Iraq is back to 2006 levels, which is only horrible, compared to what it was in 2007; intolerable. Besides, Brit Hume said so.
5) You think trial lawyers are harmful to America, yet you support prosecuting some guy in Muncie Indiana who burned his 99¢ American flag that was made in China by forced child labor.
6) You’re all for the ‘rule of law’ when it’s applied to Bill Clinton for lying about his infidelity, but not for prosecuting Karl Rove and Scooter Libby for committing treason.
7) You think George W. Bush is actually a really smart guy, but his folksy manner just makes him seem dumber than he really is.
8) You believe that those privileged from birth achieve success all on their own, and that those who are born to poverty and never have opportunities for advancement, got what they deserved.
9) You believe Ronald Reagan was a great president who had complete control of all aspects of government, but the Iran-Contra Affair was an insignificant scandal that went on without his knowledge.
10) You believe Democrats tax and spend, but George W. Bush was a fiscal conservative.
11) You believe Oliver North, who was CONVICTED of perjury, obstruction of justice, destroying evidence and accepting bribes, is a patriot. But John Kerry, who saved a man’s life while under enemy fire in Vietnam is a coward.
12) You believe George W. Bush kept us safe from terror, and the failure to prevent the 9/11 attacks were Clinton’s fault.
13) You actually believe Fox News is fair & balanced.
14) You still believe Saddam had truckloads of WMDs, and that he somehow managed to sneak them into Syria, right under our noses.
15) You believe Terri Schiavo was sentient all along, and Bill Frist had the ability to diagnose her condition by watching a 5 second video of her sleeping.
16) You’re in favor of stronger prison sentences for drug users, yet your favorite radio personality is Rush Limbaugh.
17) You complain about having to press 1 for English, yet you hire undocumented workers to mow your lawn because they’re cheaper than hiring the kid next door.
18) Homosexuality is abhorrent to you, except when a Republican senator, the president of the National Association of Evangelicals, and a planted White House journalist get caught having sexual affairs with gay men. Then you suddenly feel sorry for them.
19) The war in Iraq makes perfect sense to you, but any suggestion by Barack Obama that we target al Qaeda specifically is ‘dangerous and reckless.’
20) You don’t mind that president Bush tortured men who were never charged with a crime, yet you’re horrified by the wrath of al Qaeda when they capture one of our guys.
21) You believe the 1/10 of 1% of scientists who claim global warming is a hoax, and reject the 99.9% who say it’s real, because Sean Hannity and his friends in the oil industry have convinced you that science is a part of a greater liberal conspiracy.
22) You believe patriotism means you should support your government right or wrong … unless a Democrat’s in power, then it’s your patriotic duty to call him a closet Muslim, challenge his birth certificate, expose his sex life and impeach him.
23) You’re proud of your party’s ‘culture of life.’ Yet you support the death penalty for minors, you believe 600,000 dead Iraqis is justified because one of them was Saddam Hussein, and you oppose confronting the genocide in Darfur because they don’t have oil.
24) You support prayer in school, as long as your kids aren’t subjected to Muslim prayers.
25) You think Darwin’s theory of evolution is a loony fairy tale, and mankind actually began with two naked teenagers, a magic apple and a talking snake.
26) You think $35 billion spent on health care for children is a waste of taxpayer’s money, but $1.7 trillion spent on a catastrophic war that has isolated us from our allies, decimated our economy and made us less safe was money well spent.
27) You believe embargoing communist Cuba is sound foreign policy, but trading with China is just good business.
28) You believe Bill Clinton was an immoral cad, but Newt Gingrich and Henry Hyde were faithful husbands (and Larry Craig just has a wide stance).
29) You fervently defend the Constitution, but when president Bush got caught monitoring 300 million phones without a warrant, politicizing our justice system, hyping evidence for going to war and pardoning a convicted perjurer who just happened to be on his staff, then it’s okay, because he was ‘protecting America.’
30) You were outraged when a gallon of gasoline went from $1.29 to $1.40 during the two terms of the Clinton presidency, but you didn’t seem to mind when prices tripled under George W. Bush, the “oil man.”
31) You were furious when Bill Clinton pardoned international commodities trader Marc Rich, who was convicted of tax evasion, but applauded when George W. Bush exonerated Scooter Libby for obstructing justice to protect Dick Cheney from a treason indictment.
32) With no evidence whatsoever, you complained of ‘voter fraud,’ and demanded that thousands of blacks be scrubbed from voting lists during the 2004 election in Ohio, yet when Rush Limbaugh asked his audience to illegally claim to be Democrats and vote for Hillary Clinton during the Ohio Primary in February to “stir up trouble,” a FELONY, you were okay with that.
33) You believe Barack Obama should be held accountable for every sermon that Jeremiah Wright ever gave, but John McCain, who sought the endorsement of anti-Semitic, xenophobic, openly racist and homophobic pastors should be given a pass.
34) You believe Barack Obama is either a secret Muslim, was actually born in Kenya, and his parents forged a fake birth certificate when he was born – just in case he should ever run for president, or that his father’s nationality disqualifies his son from being president, all because you read that on the Internet.
35) You believe the 8 consecutive years of prosperity and strong economic growth from 1993 – 2001 was due to the work of Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, but today’s recession is all Clinton’s and Obama’s fault.
36) You laugh at how much better Barack Obama speaks with a TelePrompTer than without one, yet you never mention the fact that even with a TelePrompTer, every time George Bush opened his mouth, gibberish tumbled out.
37) You still believe Barack Obama has somehow succeeded in fooling every government and independent examination with his “obviously Photoshopped” documents. Instead, you rely on Internet gossip, WorldNetDaily and Jerome Corsi as your sources for “truth.”
38) Your conservative media spent more air time discussing Michelle Obama touching the queen of England’s arm than on the economy, the environment, terrorism and health care combined.
39) You believe that we should get out of Afghanistan because Obama is “nation building,” yet for eight straight years of Bush’s bumbling incompetence there, you kept mum. Therefore, attacking Iraq makes sense, even though they never threatened us, but finishing off the job of finding Osama bin Laden; the terrorist who killed 3,000 Americans — Bush’s original task — is a dumb idea.
40) You were furious that Barack Obama admitted in France that Americans have occasionally been “arrogant, dismissive and derisive,” but you cheered them on when Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld were arrogant, dismissive and derisive.
41) You believe that Obama’s $3.6 trillion budget is an outrage, but never once complained that George Bush turned Bill Clinton’s $300 billion surplus into a $1.3 trillion deficit. And it never once occurred to you that Bush deliberately omitted the Iraq and Afghanistan wars from those statistics, which means Bush’s TRUE deficit was $3.1 trillion.
42) You supported Gov. Sarah Palin, partly because you believed she kept a good Christian home. This, despite the fact that her seventeen year old unmarried daughter was knocked up, her son was accused of vandalizing 44 school buses (cutting the brake lines of school buses – HELLO!!?) and was given the choice of going to jail or join the military, and Palin herself was found guilty of abusing the power of her office. But Barack Obama can’t possibly be a true Christian, because his father was a Muslim, and his middle name is Hussein. (Besides, he’s black, and everybody knows that Jesus was a blond haired blue eyed white man.)
43) You believe the only solution to gun violence is to make sure everybody is armed to the teeth. That way, when some crazy person goes on a killing spree, right-thinking people will take out the killer, and tranquility will prevail throughout the land.
44) You believe the mainstream news anchors are crazy, biased and filled with hate, but Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity are rational, accurate and informative.
45) You defend Rush Limbaugh’s right to wish for Obama to fail, and therefore, the failure of our republic, yet you call Democrats the “blame America first crowd.”
46) You claim that the economic crisis is the fault of the Democrats, but never mention that it was the Reagan administration that massively deregulated the banking industry in 1982, and it was Phil Gramm – McCain’s choice for economic advisor – who completed the task for his pals in the banking industry in 1999.
47) You believe the failure of the US automobile industry is primarily the fault of the unions, and not because management of the three corporations insisted on producing vehicles that nobody wanted. And you’re angry with the $28.00 per hour average wage of the work force, but you believe that the multimillion dollar salaries of the men who bankrupted the industry are perfectly reasonable.
48) You believe Barack Obama is a “narcissistic megalomaniac,” because you heard Glenn Beck call him that once, but Beck himself is a humble man, concerned only for your welfare (brought to you by Goldline!).
49) You believe anybody who doesn’t subscribe to Orly Taitz’ birther movement is a RINO, and those who do, are carrying the torch of Reaganism.
50) You think this list is mean-spirited and biased, and even though you privately acknowledge to yourself that it’s all true, you believe the Democrats are just as bad. Here’s a bulletin: Nobody has ever been this bad.

Don’t forget. The Parties are only labels and not the true form of there Govt. Type. There beliefs are based off of current events and what there elders have taught them. Rather then what Republican or Democrat really are. Thomas Jefferson was a Republican. Most of the world has obviously converted to Libertarian socialism. Though Most believe in Social liberalism.
Being a clear minded liberal I personally enjoyed the list. I found most of them are true about the republicans I know. I also, have realized there aren’t any non-extremist republicans anymore. I am not completely liberal. If someone, from either party has a good idea I will support is, whether from a conservative or a liberal. If it makes sense, it makes sense. There’s no if and’s or but’s about it. If only the rest of the US citizens were that way. We would get so much more done if people we just a little more open minded. But yes, I enjoyed reading the list, some parts were insightful and others were a little mean spirited. But I also took the time to read the “You know you’re a democrat if…” And I found that it portrayed democrats as well, just stupid people. Which isn’t true. I’m not saying there aren’t some stupid democrats, but there are also some stupid republicans. In my eyes, I really think, we just need a reality check. That means everyone. Not just republicans, and not just democrats. We all need to get a better grip on whats going on. Seriously you guys, we won’t get anywhere in life we can’t take a step back and think about whats really good for America and at least TRY to understand the opposing party. They may be wrong, but at least you get where they are coming from, and hey, who knows. Maybe you might learn a thing or too.
By the way, this came from a 15 year old female democrat.
You Might Be A Liberal If You…
…think the government can spend its way out of debt.
…believe we need to fight big business with big government.
…claim not to be a socialist, but still want the government to regulate the economy.
…defend Obama by arguing “you only hate him because he’s black!”
…criticize people who call Obama “Hitler,” yet had no problem calling Bush “Hitler.”
…worship wealthy celebrities who preach redistribution of wealth.
…think Janeane Garofalo is as intelligent as she is attractive (on second thought, that’s an accurate analogy).
…think Fox News is biased because Keith Olbermann told you it was.
…threw out your radio when Air America went off the air.
…think Sarah Palin is the devil incarnate.
…label every conservative as a fascist, yet possess no understanding of fascism.
…think Bush was the dumbest president ever, yet was smart enough to orchestrate the largest inside job that is allegedly 9/11.
…think the bureaucrats who run the Department of Motor Vehicles or post office are qualified to run our healthcare system.
…believe our healthcare system needs to emulate Great Britain’s (where hospitals flip the bed sheets over to save money) or Canada’s (where doctors have lotteries to see which family to treat).
…think the human fetus is no more significant than a tumor and an abortion is no more morally questionable than a tonsillectomy.
…think a cow or chicken has more of a right to live than a human fetus.
…think An Inconvenient Truth and The Day After Tomorrow are both scientifically-accurate movies.
…want the country to invest in alternative energy sources, except nuclear energy.
…think it’s fair to force somebody off their property because an endangered beetle also lives there.
…want to legalize marijuana but ban guns.
…find burning the Koran offensive, but not building a mosque near the site of an Islamic terrorist attack.
…are against giving jobs to foreigners overseas, yet have no problem giving jobs to foreigners in our own country.
…want to give African-Americans and other minorities equal access to jobs by giving them special treatment in hiring.
…think communism or anarchy are good ideas gone bad.
…find it more patriotic to burn the flag rather than salute it.
This is all from my blog post: http://blamethe1st.blogspot.com/2010/11/you-might-be-liberal-if-you.html
I’d be delighted to debate all of the above with you, but first, I just have one request of you; please define “fascism” for me. You seem to believe that I don’t know, so I’m giving you an opportunity to set me straight.
What’s fascism according to you? Simple question…
Well, if you’re definition of fascism comes from that “14 points of fascism” chain letter written by a phony professor, then you’re clearly misinformed.
There are many definitions of fascism. But we’ll stick with Merriam-Webster: “a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.”
From an economic standpoint, fascism is when businesses and industries are privately-owned but government-controlled, which is only a step away from socialism, where they are owned and controlled by the government. I notice many “liberals” compare free-market capitalism to fascism, even though a free market, by its very name, denotes complete freedom from government control or ownership, thus making it opposed to fascism.
Ironically enough, I’ve seen many libertarians, notably Ron Paul, called fascists, even though fascism, according to Websters, exalts the state over the individual citizen and focuses on a highly-centralized government—whereas, libertarians are clearly for the exact opposite.
All of these show that most liberals have no concrete understanding of what fascism is.
No, that isn’t the definition of fascism BlowThe1st, these are:

You know, it’s curious how you went to the trouble of cherry picking one of the very few dictionaries that neglected to mention that fascism is, was, and will always be a RIGHT WING ideology. Guess that was unintentional, huh?
And oh by the way, the US Military Dictionary also defines fascism as a RIGHT WING form of government. Awkward, eh Bubba?
All of this shows that very few conservatives have any concrete understanding of what fascism is. Thanks for showing up here to confirm it for us.
You may think fascism is a right wing form of government but as you can see at this site it is actually left wing.
http://www.wimp.com/thegovernment/
Sorry Bruce, I took a look at Merriam-Webster.com and the Wikepedia, and in neither entries did it tie facism to the right end of the political spectrum. Keep in mind that just because someone adds an label, it doesn’t make it true. After all, when Rush Limbaugh refers to the “Looney Left” I personally don’t believe that Liberals are insane, well, not all of them.
Unfortunately, like many would be intellectuals, you take a one dimensional view of politics. Take a look at the Libertarian website, specifically their two dimensional political grid. Take the quiz at http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz . In reality, I envision political viewpoints as more three dimensional. I find it really hard to believe that you can lump conservatives, which believes in smaller government, lower taxes and more freedom, in with the fascists, which believe in government control of everything.
And, if you had bothered to read down the Wikepedia entry you would have found:
“Fascism is anti-anarchist, anti-communist, anti-conservative, anti-democratic, anti-individualist, anti-liberal, anti-parliamentary, anti-bourgeois and anti-proletarian. It entails a distinctive type of anti-capitalism and is typically, with a few exceptions, anti-clerical. It rejects egalitarianism, materialism, and rationalism in favour of action, discipline, hierarchy, spirit and will.”
(footnote citations removed)
In other words, facists are against everyone, left right or middle.
Riiight. Merriam Webster doesn’t mention fascism being right wing, but Wikipedia does. In fact, just about EVERYONE else does too (odd that you’d miss that). This just happens to be something I know a little bit about. Fascism is “anti-conservative,” only in that the fascists of 1930s-40s Europe didn’t think conservatism was right-wing enough! Unlike, oh say, Russia today… right?
Again…

So much for “intellectualism,” eh?
Well, if you want to just go by labels and adjectives, wouldn’t National Socialism just be subset of Socialism?
There has been, what I believe, false assumption that since the communist are the extreme left, their brutal enemy the fascists must be on the extreme right. If you look at their ideologies, they are closer to each other than they are to modern conservatives. After all, how do you compare a movement that advocates smaller government, lower taxes and more freedom, with a group that wants to control every aspect of your life?
If all you’re concerned with is lower taxes, less government and more freedom, might I recommend Somalia?
The notion that liberals “want to control everything” is such sophomoric boiler plate, that I’m amazed that any educated adult would even suggest it. Pure Limbaugh/Beck?Hannity talking points.
And there goes the spin. I NEVER said “Liberals want to control everything” I made the comparison between modern Conservatives and Fascists, the former espousing lower taxes, less government and more freedom, and the later wanting to control everything.
So which is it? Should I move to Somalia or do the Liberals really want lower taxes, less government and more freedom? It’s hard to tell since you argued both sides of the coin.
And I would love to debate you on where Liberals stand, but we are running out of room on this thread.
You know BlowThe1st, ever since Jonah Goldberg wrote his insipid book “Liberal Fascism” in an effort to deflect fascism away from the right, and towards the left, I’ve seen dozens of people like you paraphrasing his “work.” I get it… You’re embarrassed that the most notorious murderous, racist dictator in history was only a stone’s throw from where your party stands ideologically. Whose party has been courting industry as a partner with government for the past twenty years? Whose party shuns minority rights and ethnic diversity? Whose party is xenophobic, homophobic, Islamophobic and worships strong military figures?
That would be the GOP. The party that requires a strong, right wing position for all members. And not coincidentally, so too did the Nazis.
But rather than creating yet another lie by denying who you are, and suggesting liberalism is closer to fascism than conservatism, why not embrace it? You’re so close now, I wouldn’t think anything could shame you people anymore.
BlowThe1st? Really?
I think I already acknowledged that there were many definitions of fascism. So you’re compilation of definitions were somewhat pointless, not to mention that you claimed the definition from Webster’s wasn’t the correct one. I’d like to know how it isn’t.
The point I was trying to make is that most “liberals” seem to throw around the term “fascist” around as an insult without actually having a proper understanding of what fascism is. Which is why I see so many “liberals” call free market capitalists, libertarians, and even Ron Paul “fascists”—even though applying the term in such a way proves to be a blatant contradiction.
Is fascism right-wing? Undoubtedly. Though gleaning from the numerous definitions, it’s also authoritarian, which is the exact opposite of what limited-government conservatism is supposed to be, which I admit that the current Republican Party isn’t.
You also seem to miss my point about the economic definition of the term, which is fairly accurate. Don’t take my word for it, though. Just read the Wikipedia section on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism#Economic_policies
BTW, I’ve never read Jonah Goldberg’s book. So strawman argument on your part there.
You really need to read more and listen to sources other than Limbaugh and Fox…Occasional inaccuracies wouldn’t be so bad as this wealth of misinformation.
1) Targeted stimulus is not a bad thing. The infrastucture here is falling apart
2)Yes. you DO in FACT need to regulate big business. Only a fool thinks corporations have the best interests of any country in mind.
3)I do not “not claim to be a socialist” The problem is that you claim to be a constitutionalist, but in reality are an anarchist. Part of being american is being a bit socialist. You shouldn’t reference things you don’t have any more than a “fox news” understanding of…
4)Come on… The “bone through the nose witch doctor” wasn’t racist??? Really??? time to get a clue. we’re not all as ignorant as you seem to be.
5)Never called bush Hitler. Hitler was a brilliant speachmaker and leader. Deranged, beyoond any doubt, but brilliant at putting his deranged plan into operation. Bush was just an irresponsable idiot with stong family political ties. Compareing Obama to Hitler, a historical madman, was fearmongering. Calling bush the anti-christ or comparing him to another fictional characters like Lord Voldemort a “fiscally conservative” Ronald Reagan is totally different…
6) ??? I don’t worship Rush, Beck, Palin or any one LIKE that…
7) Nice intelligent arguement.(sarcasm intended) unworthy of addresseing other than to say that she really is cute, but doesn’t try to play it up, and she really does have a good degree of inteelligence. Sorry that she’s not to your taste… layered makeup to cover the grim demeanor and vacuous…(Palin, Bachmann, Coulter…) Strictly on a personnal level, I’d do Nancy Pelosi before I’d do Palin… Intelligence adds to sexiness…JMHO BYKIR
8) Olbermann will cite sources where required. Fox just hast the empty bobbing heads saying “yup, yup, yup,ha,ha,ha”
9)If all that were left to listen to was beck and limbaugh, not a bad decision…
10) Not really, just a pathetic media whore.
11)Not every conservative is fascist, never said they were. However the republican party HAS taken on the authoritive, no free thought attitude of them. The founding fathers they like to compare themselves to were more like the progressives. Even the more conservative of them. More like herding cats than marching in lockstep like the republican party demands of its members now…
12) Doubt very much that he would have been smart enough to participate in any such conspiracy, if indeed one had occoured.
13) And what we’ve got now, insurance corporations whose primary concern is profit and how to NOT pay out for your care so as to increase that profit is somehow BETTER???
14)You use an either/or sceneario. Why not take the best of what’s existing and improve on it? However, even those are not worse than what we’ve got here.
15) Every person I’ve ever heard opposing a woman’s freedom to control her own body has either blatently or surreptitiously utilizes religious “morals” that they consider inviolate, even if those “morals” violate an individuals rights. Don’t preach your religious beliefs to me in a political discussion. You want a theocracy, move to Iraq or Saudi Arabia. If we MUST buy into the religious over ride of our constitutional rights, then I’d argue your side for you. God put that tumor there. It’s just your time. (Added benifit of reducing healthcare costs too)
16)Nonsense. No one (other than PETA, and they’re as crazy as
ann Coulter) is trying to force their belief in veganism into law. (Besides, Swift’s satiracal “A Modest Proposal” is more like what you’d hear from the Rand Paul crowd than any progressives)
17)TDAT is a fictional movie. never claimed to be more. It is based on fact, but thats what fiction does. Builds a story around fact and expands on it to make it more dramatic. (Why do i feel like I’m haveing to explain this to a 10 year old?) AIT is a documentary based on scientific facts. Disagreeing because you don’t like the facts presented is not a rebuttal. Finding a minute percentage of scientists who follow their “gut” rather than review findings and prove out their disagreements is not the same as discrediting a study. Ignorance is not the same as knowledge. (you really have GOT to get away from Rush and Beck and listen to people that actually KNOW things…)
18) Again, I’ll bet rush, beck and fox never told you about things like Fermi 1, Chalk River, SL-1@Idaho Falls, Cernobyl, Chelyabinsk, or Fukushima. Ignorance is not always bliss.
19)After some research, I have found people relocated for Dam Projects (economically valid) and Shopping malls (eminemt domain gone wild) and the like, and some developers restricted from developing areas of habitation by endangered species, but none of anyone being displaced to accomadate any endangered species, much less a beetle. Lots of histrionics, but nothing factual…
20)(a) Marijuana has proven medical and recreational uses. Please don’t give me the “gateway drug’ bulls**t. Mothers milk is also a “gateway” to EVERYTHING !!! Marijuana was a threat to the profits of the paper, tobacco, pharmacutical and synthtic textile industry. Andrew Mellon, W.R. Hearst, The DuPonts, and the Tobacco companies… All wealthy, influential and wanting to protect their investments managed to promote a wave of disinformation (some things never change)to have it taxed and classified as a narcotic. The The AMA was quite familiar with cannibis as being very useful for treating a variety of medical conditions, so the media stopped calling it cannibis and used a mexican slang term “marihuana”, and rushed through the law. (I’ll assume you’ve done SOME research, so I’ll admit they used the term “poisin” in the late 1800′s and early 1900″s. At that time, it was used to designate what we would now consider a “controlled substance” akin to getting 800mg ibuprofin). Besides, conservatives supposedly HATE “big guvmint” and should be promoting the right to choose here, (unless you’re … HYPOCRITICAL !!!)
(b) Guns. Unrestricted access is stupid. With rights come responsabilities. Should ongoing training and responsability to properly store and carry safely be required. of course. Should responsable use and safety be taught in school? I think so. Should you be allowed to carry your high power, high capacity weapon in public and into political rallies where emotions will invariably run high? Are you nuckin’ futs ??? I’m a gun owner. It’s quickly available to me for home protection. My lock box for my home protection piece cost almost as much as the gun did. My shot gun and rifles are under lock and key. I practice regularly. my kids did NOT have access to the weapons, but were free to join me at a range to learn how to use them safely. That is civic and social responsability. The idiot “cowboys” you see at the teabag rallies with AK 47′s and S&W M&P15′s slung over their shoulders or big 10mm or 45′s with HC magazines strapped to their hips are being the ultimate in IRresponsable. (do you really NEED 2 17 round clips? Seems to me what you really need is more time at the range.)
21) yeah. hypocracy is the basis for just about religion. I’m with what the constitutionalists preach, but never practice. Lets try to REALLY live up to the intentions of the FF and keep that “wall of separation between church and State. Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience” (Jefferson 1802) “leaving every one to profess freely and openly those principles of religion which are the inductions of his own reason and the serious convictions of his own inquiries.” (Jefferson 1808) After retiring from the presidency, Madison wrote of “total separation of the church from the state.” “Strongly guarded as is the separation between Religion & Govt in the Constitution of the United States,” Madison wrote, and he declared, “practical distinction between Religion and Civil Government is essential to the purity of both, and as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States.” And then John Adams signed the treaty of Tripoli…”As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen (muslims); and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.” Yeah, lately we’ve had wars with muslim nations that never did anything to us, and didn’t address the nations that DID harbor radicals against us until years later, and have had religious extremeists attack the US on behalf of their religion. but the intent was very clear. We. Are. NOT. a. christian. nation. and . religious. opinions. aren’t. a. reason. for. war. If somebody tries to kill you, kill ‘em back. If however, you follow the koran, torah,OR bible, they teach you to kill those that don’t believe the same as you FIRST… Let’s keep that out of our civil arena…You have a right to burn a koran. they have a right to burn a flag. That just makes you both antagonistic assholes. get over it.
22)So, you think it’s okay to continue subsidies (from our taxes) to corporations that move jobs overseas for lower wages, less enviromental restrictions,NO safty regulations or pesky human rights issues, but think that immigration, which we were built on, is bad? When you have an immigrint come here and we are able to get their contribution to the GNP, and tax their wages to contribute to the general welfare, and benefit from their contributions to our “melting pot” society, it is and always has been, a plus for America. Ignorance, prejuduce, and the fearmongering of the far right is what is damaging to this country.
23) Well, yeah. If a group is discriminated for over generations, they are kept down socially and economically, and it may take a efforts to attain balance that seem to be unfair to the prior dominating class.. Beats the hell out of how the French did it in the last decade of the 18th century. Part of living in a society that takes the time and effort to correct it’s own injustises…Sorry if your freedom to own slaves was taken away from you during the War of Northern Aggression…
24) You don’t have a clue as to what communism, socialism, oligarchy, plutocrocy, kleptocracy, democracy, confederacy, or any other form of government really is. A blend of Plutocracy and Anarchy is what is proposed by the Koch Brothers through their Teabaggers, but the ones doing the bagging aren’t cognizant enough to see it or understand it even if they did. (I think your one of them…)
25) It is better to burn it (as per the uniform flag code) than to abuse it like you see in sooo many ultra right mobs. Useing your freedom of speech IS DAMN Patriotic !!! Much more patriotic than being a brain dead dittohead. I don’t even have a problem with the pledge of alligence. The original, not the bastardized version that the congress ammended it to in 1954. The Knights of Columbus are the ones that pushed the “under god” clause in, making it into a CATHOLIC, not CHRISTIAN prayer. (I like that part cause it usually pisses off devout “christians”… Now go back and re read #21, about separation of church and state) Also, did you know that the Baptist Minister who wrote it, Francis Bellamy (politically, he was a christian socialist), intentionally kept out the religious reference, and originally had included “equality” in it, but took it out because it would have met too much resistance from school boards that didn’t favor equality for females and blacks? I think we should go back to his original thought… Take out the unconstitutional “under god” and make it “one nation, indivisible, with equality, liberty and justice for all.” MUCH Better…
OOPS, I MISSPOKE, EMO. IT WAS #1, #3 AND #8 WHERE YOU USED THE SAME MISINFORMATION. You stated DIFFERENT misinformation in the rest of your gibberish.
EMO, IT’S PRETTY COMICAL…you used the same piece of half-truth to make your point on #1., #2, AND #8! The part you left out is that he RELUCTANTLY extended Bush tax cuts in order to keep the Republicans from withholding unemployment extensions that would have left so many unemployed individuals with NOTHING, right before Christmas. Obama is an intelligent, educated and eloquent speaker. George W. Bush is a MORON who ONLY got into office because Big Daddy George and brother Jeb made it happen for him. He was a true embarrassment to America every time he opened his uneducated, moronic mouth.
Hi Bruce. I grew up in that ultra-conservative family. I vote for Democrats because of my “religion”, the Golden Rule and my philosphy. If Democrats are less than perfect, it’s because we have No Campaign Reform and someone has to pay for those expensive campaigns. Your comments were not all that funny – they contained a lot of truth. // Jean Clelland-Morin
Thank you Jean. What you said was true; the Republican party has now slid so far towards the ridiculous right, that what used to be comical, is now factual.
As Jon Stewart said a few days ago, they’re taking away all our fun… How do you mock someone who’s already beat you to it?
Best thing I’ve read, in oh, 18 years I’d say (keeping in mind that’s how old I am)
“You might be a douchbag if you side with Republicans or Democrats. They’re ALL whores on the take for campaign funding. It’s a Coke vs. Pepsi pissing contest designed to keep you from thinking for yourself, and removing the concept that there might be any other option.”
^ Couldn’t have phrased that better myself. It’s astonishing how many people think that you have to be one or the other and be insanely partisan no matter what. There’s hypocrisy and bigotry on both sides.
51) You think that John McCain is a hero and you voted for him because he was the “lesser of two evils,” even though he endangered U.S. service people with the information he spilled on record during his captivity in Vietnam and dumped his physically injured wife for a pretty young blonde.
You might be a Republican if you think Donald Trump really cares about The middle class.
::facepalm::
1. Ignorant garbage? These are valid points expressed by people who don’t think like you. You don’t have to agree, but to dismiss it so rapidly is only illustrating your own ignorance. Isn’t it important to educate and understand dissenting opinions? For those on the Left, we don’t ever catch a break from hearing about the Right’s opinions on America, and we’re willing to listen and retort. But the Right refuses to even ACKNOWLEDGE that there’s even an alternate perspective by dismissing it as you have, or calling those ideas “unamerican.”
2. You aren’t “normal” or even in the “majority.” America seems to be pretty evenly split. This is why America is becoming terrible–the Right refuses to believe that the Left is “American.” They often refer to us as the “enemy.” That seems pretty fucked up, if you ask me. You are turning on your own countrymen for having a different view. That doesn’t seem very moral, or adult. That’s half the country you are belittling! This article wouldn’t have even been written if the hypocrisy of the Right wasn’t so…abrasive and frankly scary.
3. Adult?? Really? The Right seems to be acting more like teenagers who think they are correct and know everything and unwilling to compromise on anything, while the Left is trying to get the Right to stop their incessant whining and tantrums. Actually, a teenager might be too old.vThis, in turn, gets the Progressive Left pissed off at the Moderate Left for caving in to outlandish, racist, and impractical ideas that are being demanded by–yes–a screaming toddler in the cookie isle.
My advice: google search “southern strategy” and see what your party is doing. They even openly apologized for using it, but continue to do so because it’s SO EASY to get the south to rally behind hatemongering and fear against blacks, gays, socialists, immigrants, abortion, good public education, and anything anti-Walmart.
this was actually a response to ziv zax, but oh well.
“It’s a Coke vs. Pepsi pissing contest designed to keep you from thinking for yourself, and removing the concept that there might be any other option. ”
That’s why I’m a Pepper and wouldn’t you like to be a Pepper too!
I also like Mountain Dew but it’s too much like Mr. Pibb.
You might be a douchbag if you side with Republicans or Democrats. They’re ALL whores on the take for campaign funding. It’s a Coke vs. Pepsi pissing contest designed to keep you from thinking for yourself, and removing the concept that there might be any other option. Fire them all. Want to fix DC?
1. Term Limits for every office
2. Flat Tax rate and NO write-offs, subsidies, loopholes or handouts
3. Fix healthcare by removing the state by state monopolies and adding torte reform
4. Reform campaign funding through PSAs. The networks own their content, but we as Americans own the airwaves.
5. It’s a spending problem. Close most gov’t agencies to be replaced with private sector agencies. Ever heard of Verisign or PayPal?
6. Wake up and fight the power.
Glad to see that you’re all putting those bachelor’s degrees in political science to good use in a sophisticated, constructive debated that really honors the complexity of the issues and respects a diverse perspectives. Hey, wait just a damn minute…
We’re only quiet if you’re not listening…. we’re out there, and the majority… deal with it. Republicans only spend on the rich, does that count?
It is true, there are double standards. It does work both ways. I havent been paying full attention to the government as of late and I’m not so hardcore liberal that that I listen to every democratic speaker there is, I couldn’t even tell you the names of our politicians or most of our presidents.
But I am Militantly Liberal. I can’t fathom the reasoning behind being a republican, perhaps it is because I come from an empovered family. I was raised by my grandparents, who are registered republicans because they think, and I quote, “Republicans can vote for who ever they want, but democrats are only allowed to vote for themselves” Is this true? I have no idea, but I think its one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard.
I’ve stated that I’m liberal, but this doesnt mean I’m not in the grey(or red) on some issues. A criminal is a criminal, and wile I only agree on a death sentence for pedophiles and rapists, I think there should be harsh punishments. I think the government should help the lower, middle, and upper middle class citizens wile the the rich pull their weight. If you can spare the expense, do so, and do so happily because your going to bennifit from it most. Your money is funding your children’s education, and every one elses. Your building a better, and more educated tomorrow for your children, and your grandchildren.
I believe in gay rights, no.. HUMAN rights. They’re people, like any one else and they don’t need a lable. I think schools should stop bullying in elementary and do away with any thoughts of “Kids will be Kids.” Know why? Some psychos are made that way. If your child is shot at school by a student who snapped, every parent could have stopped that- not just the school in question. Don’t just tell your children to treat others how they would want to be treated, enforce it and act upon it. No one is any better than another.
If you don’t like something the government is doing, do something about it. Don’t sit there and whine about it like five year old whose been given a time out. Its our country, WE need to do something about it and politicians of ALL parties need to listen and cooperate.
Thats just my two cents.
Sorry michael, You lost me at, “But I am Militantly Liberal.”
As a Floridian I need to say Gore should have won FL.
The problem was bigger than just “chads” and the Court deciding otherwise. The Governor at the time Jeb Bush (I call him W Jr) hired a Texas company (hmmmm? where is the connection there?) to “purge” the voting rolls of felons, dead people… and anyone that could lean Democratic. What ended up happening is that many were “purged”
and didn’t find out until election day. (I remember a story about this happening to a Judge in South FL, where her SS number was 1 digit different than a felon, and she couldn’t vote) AND on top of that, it takes 30 days to reinstate your voting ability…so… many never DID vote.
Plus on top of that the ballot was horrible. Even my highly intelligent mother almost made a mistake. The voting booklet had 2 PAGES of Presidential Candidates and on the first page “turn page to continue voting” which means many might have done a SECOND vote, therefore nullifying the vote entirely.
Florida should have gone to Gore, and it might have if W Jr wasn’t Governor.
Ever since the 2000 mess, I make sure I’m still on the “rolls” and I don’t exactly “trust” the “scans” of my vote nor the system.
“The Governor at the time Jeb Bush (I call him W Jr) hired a Texas company (hmmmm? where is the connection there?) to “purge” the voting rolls of felons, dead people… and anyone that could lean Democratic. What ended up happening is that many were “purged”
Ummm….. isn’t that what is supposed to happen, dead people and felons cannot vote.
Oh what, they can only vote for democRATS.
AHAAAAA!!!! Emo just got bitch slapped!!!
@BOORDO…THAT’S SPELLED “CITE”. And yes, the author’s points are real, true facts. If you were reading and understanding recent political articles from trustworthy sources, you would know these things. For “Roadkill” and Boordo”, I can point out an article that backs up SOME of the facts CITED by the author. (But it’s long, and it might be too hard for some to read. I know the Republican party likes to keep it this way with their frequent attempts to cut education funding…but here goes anyway…)
In the following article,
http://sociology.ucsc.edu/whorulesamerica/power/wealth.html
, you will find the following statement, “As of 2007, income inequality in the United States was at an all-time high for the past 95 years, with the top 0.01% — that’s one-hundredth of one percent — receiving 6% of all U.S. wages” In the same article, under the heading “Do Taxes Redistribute Income?” figure 6 illustrates the PERCENTAGE OF THEIR INCOME that goes to Federal, State and Local taxes. The chart clearly shows that in regards to FEDERAL taxes, individuals in the the bottom 20% pay out 12.4% of their meager incomes to Federal taxes, while those in the highest 1% pay only 8.4% of their income to Federal taxes. (Awwww, those poor little rich folks!) Good thing they have the working-class Republicans to pave the way for their tax cuts by continuing to support them, vote for them, and argue their misinformed point for them! (Well, the top 1% aren’t misinformed. They’re purposely manipulating you to support the policies that benefit their finances.)
I think this can whole thing can be summed up with “You might be a Democrat if you have a seething unbidden hatred for all things Republican.”
BTW, can either of you goofballs actually prove any of these claims? And when I say proof, I mean site your facts.
1. GW Bush’s 2001 tax cuts gave proportionally more to the middle class than the upper class. The middle class got a 1/3 rate cut from 15% to 10%, while the upper classes got slight more than a 1/10 cut from 39.6% to 35%. Oh yes, Obama agreed to extend Bush’s tax cut until 2013
~ That’s a lie. The top 1% got more than 50% of the tax relief.
2. No GOP thinks killing Iraqi children is acceptable, which is why the USA even under Obama continues fighting Al Qaeda
~ Really? Google Dick Cheney’s comments regarding collateral damage, April-May 2003.
3. Obama extended Bush’s tax cuts until 2013
~ Right. But only because the GOP held unemployment compensation hostage. Either tax cuts for billionaires, or the poor eat cat food. Those compassionate conservatives… gotta love ‘em!
4. The surge in Iraq worked so well, that Obama copied in it Afghanistan. Also violence in Iraq is well well below 2006 levels
~ The purpose of the “surge” (in Bush’s own words) was to give the Iraqis the elbow room they needed to form a new government. So far, and it’s been 8 years, that has yet to really happen. Nobody denied that putting more cops on the beat wouldn’t drop the crime rate. Try to keep up sonny.
5. No one thinks this moron. Youre running out of ideas pretty quickly
~ August 2007, Fox News (of all places). Look it up, Einstein.
6. Karl Rove and Scooter Libby ddint out Valarie Plame. Richard Armitage did. So much for facts
~ Richard Armitage heard it from a secure source, and mentioned it to Karl Rove as petty gossip. Karl Rove told Scooter Libby, and the two of them DELIBERATELY leaked it to the press. Richard Armitage later apologized PERSONALLY to Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson. You got Head-Up-The-Ass-Syndrome?
7. At least GW Bush doesnt think there are 57 states
~ Neither does Barack Obama. They had just returned from a 57 state & territory campaign tour (Puerto Rico, Guam, Samoa, Virgin Islands, etc), and he used the word “states” instead of stops. When someone pointed that out to him, he said; “Did I say that? Obviously, I meant stops.” Of course, the fair & balanced network never reported that part. You’re not very good at this, are you Skippy?
8. Obama extended the Bush tax cuts until 2013
~ Do you have a stammer? See #3
9. The Iran-Contra scandal was insignificant. Michale Dukakis tried to make it an issue and won 60 fewer electoral votes than John McCain did. Iran-Contra got hostage out of Lebanon, prolonged the war between two horrible countries and lead to free elections in Nicaragua which the communists lost
~ Insignificant??? Leave it to a Bush apologist to call high treason “insignificant.” Imbecile.
10. Dems do tax and spend. GW wasnt a fiscal conservative but compared to Obama he was.
~ Ahh… So Bush’s $5.1 trillion added to the deficit was smaller than Obama’s $3 trillion, 95% of which was to keep Bush’s recession from becoming a depression? Der…
11. John Kerry lied about what US soldiers were doing in Vietnam. He liabled and slandered their duty by calling them murderers
~ No, he didn’t. He told the truth. Trust me. Or better yet, ask John McCain.
12. Clinton allowed Bin Laden to escape in 1998. After 9/11/2001, there were no attacks on US soil. Too bad Obama cant say the same
~ Discredited Fox News bullshit. Not surprised you’d pull this one out of your ass too.
13.MSNBC is literally an insane network. Especially that little boy Rachel Madow
~ Nice form! Go full homophobic, why don’t you? No, no sign of bigotry from you… About what I’d expect from a redneck Southerner.
14. Havent you bothered to read wikileaks. Saddam did indeed have a weapons program.
~ Yeah, he did… the ones we sold him in 1982, but NOT when Bush was accusing him of that in 2002. See the difference, punkin’?
15. Wow were only at 15 and you have to dig up Terry Shaivo
~ Oh, is this off limits? It sure as hell wasn’t when your boy made it a federal matter!
16. Only if Kitty Dukakis joins him in prison
~ Yeah, that’s funny. Did you write that yourself, or did Mommy help?
17. That describes nearly every liberal in California.
~ Limbaugh Syndrome: Collective guilt. Are all conservatives closeted gays, like Teddy Haggard and Larry Craig? Oh, wait that one hits pretty close to home.
18. No one feels sorry for Larry Craig
~ Evidently your party did… Nobody demanded he resign, they way they do when some Democrat gets busted.
19. Conservatives cheer when Obama kills Al Qaeda in Pakistan, Iraq and Afghanistan
~ Your TV must be broken. On Fox, there’s very little cheering for Obama… EVER.
20. Wow, now we know the left cares more about KSM than about US soldiers, considers the US worse than Al Qaeda and is drowning in moral equivalence
~ Moral equivalence. The Glenn Beck catch phrase du jour! Tell me Poncho, are you even capable of formulating an independent opinion?
21. Mmm..no 99.9% of scientists dont say global warming is not a hoax, but those that do think global warming is real were caught in 2010 lying about their climate date.
~ Not lying, and since you’re obviously 6 months behind the times, 100% EXONERATED OF ANY WRONGDOING. Odd how Fox didn’t report that either, huh?
22. Didnt Hillary say it was the highest form of patriotism to question your govt
~ Sir Edmund? Whatever… you guys write and break your own rules at whim, regardless.
23. LOL…600,000 Iraqis dead has been debunked. It was no where near that many. More like 150,000 and most of those were killed by Al Qaeda
~ If one of those was your daughter, would you be pleased? By the way, read the Lancet. They claim 600,000+, with another 2 million refugees in Jordan and Syria. You feel pretty good about that?
24. More evidence the left is made up of Dhimmis and there is indeed a muslim-leftist axis against the USA
~ Right! I admit it… I want Sharia Law, from Sea to Shining Sea (but most especially in Decatur, Georgia).
25. At least you admit the theory of evolution is a theory
~ Oh, no you din’t! As opposed to a “hypothesis?” PLEASE tell me that you’re not this ignorant!
26. Iraq war hasnt cost nearly $1.7t and the war in Afghanistan was stated when 3000 Americans were killed on 9-11-2001. More evidence the left doesnt think 9-11-2001 was a big deal
~ Yeah, we shrugged that off within 20 minutes. You know; pfffffthh.
27. So does Obama and so did Clinton
~ No, not really. In case you haven’t noticed, Obama has loosened up all sorts of regs regarding Cuba, including visitation between the two countries — something Bush didn’t even want to discuss (Uncle Dick told him that was a no-no).
28. No, but Gingrich and Hyde never committed perjury or were disbarred
~ Gingrich never perjured himself because he was never forced under oath for his daliances, neither was Hyde for that matter. But they both LIED about it. Oh, and Gingrich was condemned by the House for “ethical problems,” just in case you’ve forgotten. Getting the message yet Bubba?
29. LOL..Obama keeps GITMO open, is still using FISA and rendition and no conservatives are complaining.
~ Two points for you here.
30. No one was outraged when gasoline went from 1.29 to 1.40 under Clinton. Now youre showing yourself to be a 100% complete idiot
~ Except for Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin, ALL of whom blamed Clinton for the price increase. How old are you, anyway? Were you playing Nintendo at the time?
31. Again Richard Armitage outed Valerie Plame. not Libby, not Rove and not Cheney
~ Again, you’re either a liar, or misinformed (or more likely, both) Armitage outed nobody. He talked, and Rove acted. You’re not scoring any points, compadre.
32. Wow youre an idiot. Cross over voting is not a felony, Democrats were actually CONVICTED of vote fraud in WI in 2004 and the left still thinks Bush stole FL when in fact it was Gore who was stopped from stealing FL
~ Google it scumbag. What Limpnuts was asking his Koolaidites to do was a FELONY… which is why he backed off. Your first rodeo, cowpoke?
33. Actually, it is Obma;s pastor who is anti-Semitic not Hegee. And yes, Obama should be held accountable for his TWENTY years as a member of that “church”
~ Hagee wasn’t anti-Semitic, eh? Heh heh… and Wright was? Can you provide examples, or did this come to you as in a dream?
34. No, but his mother was a communist and his father an anti-colonial drunk
~ Ah.. more “Fox Facts” for me to swat! Nope, not today, thanks.
35. Actually Clinton was the 2nd most conservative president after Reagan. Clinton raised taxes less than GHW Bush did in 1990, Clinton cut capital gains taxes from 28% to 20% and threw millions off welfare. Clinton describes himself as an Eisenhower Republican
~ Riiiiight. Even though he raised the top tax rate from 36% to 39%, and balanced the budget… and then that fat slob Gingrich tried to take the credit for it.
36. Even with a teleprompter, gibberish spills out of Obama’s mouth
~ Aw, you’re just jealous.
37 and 38: Patently untrue
~ Both absolutely DOCUMENTED. Don’t weasel out on me by saying “Nuh-uh!!,” give me some facts for a change.
39. Oh so now you think the Afghanistan war is worth fighting. All your previous points on war certainly indicate your opposition to the Afghan war. So which is it?
~ Now that we’re in it, (as per Vietnam), it’s pretty hard to fold up and go, eh? The point was how we got there — and how badly Sonny Boy Bush SCREWED IT UP!!
40. Well nobody is more arrogant than Obama.
~ Sure, there are lots of folks who are. Why, just look at yourself.
41. Clinton never had a $300b surplus, Bush never had a 1.5 trillion deficit and Obama will run up more debt in 2.5 years than Bush did in 8 and Obama will run up more debt in 4 years than all US Presidents COMBINED
~ Yes, yes, No, and No. Obama’s deficit is almost entirely due to the incompetence of his REPUBLICAN predecessor. Even conservative economists were advising Obama to support TARP, and to follow through once he was sworn in. And as if by magic, you Teabigots accused him of trashing the economy that YOUR GUY ruined.
42. Palin was never found guilty of anything. All ethics charges against her have been dismissed. Her son was never give the choice of military or jail, that would violate the 8th menedment
~ Oh, now you’re just flat our lying. Have I worn you out already? I’m so sorry. Better know what you’re getting yourself into next time.
43. Studies have shown CCW laws actually reduce crime. It was two black citizens in Washington and Chicago that won second amendment cases against the gun control happy mayors in those two cities. I suppose hte left thinks those two black citizens are Republicans
~ Right! And as we all know, those NRA studies are practically “bullet-proof,” aren’t they?
44. Moron, Beck and Hannity arent journalists, they are commentators. Big difference. But no conservative comes close to humiliating themselves the way Helen Thomas and Dan Rather did
~ Gottchya’. And yet, they are promoted on the Fox “NEWS” station, as “FAIR & BALANCED” REPORTERS. How was your pork chop, Dr. Goebbels?
45. Definitely. The more Obama fails, the better for America. The left has been blaming America first for 40 years and you have done so numerous times in your post
~ First honest thing you’ve said yet.
46. More lies. It was Carter who deregulated banking in 1980 and Clinton who got rid of Glass Steagal in 1999. But the economic crisis was caused mostly by the Fed.
~ Have you ever heard this name before; “Ronald Reagan?” Look into it! Even you might be capable of learning something.
47. The Big 3 produced vehicles nobody wanted thanks to the US govt and CAFE standards. Are unions to blame. partly but so is mgmt. Contrary to what leftist think, the public doesnt want little econoboxes like the Italians drive
~ What’s that have to do with what I wrote? Deflections cost you those two points from #29. You’re back to ZERO.
48. Obama is a deep narcissist. A cold individual who gives “shout outs” during press conferences after the Ft Hood shootings
~ Oh, of course he is! Not humble, and modest like say; George Bush and Co.
49. Orly Talitz is a nut, she’d make a perfect leftist just like Code Pink
~ And yet, she’s the darling of the right wing! How do you explain that, Emo? Cat got your tongue?
50. The left is pretty bad..
~ Yes, sometimes they are, which is why I’m an independent. But never, EVER before in US history has there been a party as corrupt, incompetent, and as openly BIGOTED as yours. Deal with it… Emo.
Bruce Lindner you seem like a very confused man. addictinginfo.org should remove your right wing propaganda
He’s actually replying to someone else’s propaganda. Under each numbered item is the info to contradict it.
Thanks Matt. I can see now how he/she might have made that mistake though… My bad.
Thanks Bruce.
HAAAAA… Good Job, Bruce!
You might be a liberal if you think wealth is something that cannot be created, only redistributed.
You might be a liberal if you think there is nothing exceptional and great about the USA, but there is about Sweden because they have “free” healthcare
You might be a liberal if you think high speed choo choo trains running to every town in America is good public policy, despite cost
You might be a liberal if think costs/benefit analysis is irrelevant, and instead we must “do it for the children” especially if it is a choo choo train from nowheresville to bubmlefu%k USA
You might be a liberal if you think repealing the Bush tax cuts for upper income Americans which will raise $700b over 10 years is the answer to balancing a budget that is producing $1.5t annually in deficits. (for libtards that means $15t over 10 years or repealing Bush’s tax cuts covers 5% of the projected 10 year deficits)
You might be a liberal if you think Obamcare with 10 years of taxation and 7 years of benefits reduces the deficit
You might be a liberal if you think that the govt can force you to engage in commerce with a private corporation
You might be a liberal if you worship at the alter of man made climate change and think global warming is causing it to be too hot, too cold, too snowy, not snowy enough and your bed too lumpy
You might be a liberal if you think the way the climate is today is the way it has always been for the past 4 billion years. Never cooler and never warmer.
You might be a liberal if you think Al Gore with his Gulfstream Jet and 15000 sq foot mansion and carbon offset scam is a environmentalist and not a 21st century snake oil salesman
You might be a liberal if you think wasting $800 billion on “shovel ready” projects is good sustainable economic policy
You might be a liberal if you think there actually were any “shovel ready” projects
You might be a liberal if you think Obama’s stimulus would create 3m sustainable jobs and keep unemployment under 8%
You might be a liberal if you think Bill Clinton’s economic policies were liberal
You might be a liberal if you think Canada under PM Harper is more liberal than the USA under President Obama
You might be a liberal if you think “foreign law” is superior to the US Constitution and should be used by US Judges.
You might be a liberal if you think Sharia is just another life choice
You might be a liberal if you think teachers unions care about educating your child
You might be a liberal if you think govt owned GM and Chrysler will produce better cars, have lower costs and good labor relations than if they were privately owned.
You might be a liberal if you think Sweden, which was indifferent about Nazism and communism, is a beacon of freedom and morality for the world
You might be a liberal if the first thought that enters your little mind when Islamic terrorists kill Americans is “What did we do to make them so mad?”
You might be a liberal if you think economic incentives are independent of levels of taxation and spending (ie translation for libtards: you kepp working even if the govt takes 100% of your income)
Fianlly:
You might be a liberal if you think Rachel Madow is a woman
I can see why you’re so emo; I would be depressed as well with your cranial capacity T_____T
For your sake, I will continue to protest these education budget cuts.
2. No GOP thinks killing Iraqi children is acceptable, which is why the USA even under Obama continues fighting Al Qaeda
3.Obama extended Bush’s tax cuts until 2013
4. The surge in Iraq worked so well, that Obama copied in it Afghanistan. Also violence in Iraq is well well below 2006 levels
5. No one thinks this moron. Youre running out of ideas pretty quickly
6. Karl Rove and Scooter Libby ddint out Valarie Plame. Richard Armitage did. So much for facts
7. At least GW Bush doesnt think there are 57 states
8. Obama extended the Bush tax cuts until 2013
10. Dems do tax and spend. GW wasnt a fiscal conservative but compared to Obama he was.
11. John Kerry lied about what US soldiers were doing in Vietnam. He liabled and slandered their duty by calling them murderers
12. Clinton allowed Bin Laden to escape in 1998. After 9/11/2001, there were no attacks on US soil. Too bad Obama cant say the same
13.MSNBC is literally an insane network. Especially that little boy Rachel Madow
14. Havent you bothered to read wikileaks. Saddam did indeed have a weapons program.
15. Wow were only at 15 and you have to dig up Terry Shaivo
16. Only if Kitty Dukakis joins him in prison
17. That describes nearly every liberal in California.
18. No one feels sorry for Larry Craig
19. Conservatives cheer when Obama kills Al Qaeda in Pakistan, Iraq and Afghanistan
20. Wow, now we know the left cares more about KSM than about US soldiers, considers the US worse than Al Qaeda and is drowning in moral equivalence
21. Mmm..no 99.9% of scientists dont say global warming is not a hoax, but those that do think global warming is real were caught in 2010 lying about their climate date.
22. Didnt Hillary say it was the highest form of patriotism to question your govt
23. LOL…600,000 Iraqis dead has been debunked. It was no where near that many. More like 150,000 and most of those were killed by Al Qaeda
24. More evidence the left is made up of Dhimmis and there is indeed a muslim-leftist axis against the USA
25. At least you admit the theory of evolution is a theory
26. Iraq war hasnt cost nearly $1.7t and the war in Afghanistan was stated when 3000 Americans were killed on 9-11-2001. More evidence the left doesnt think 9-11-2001 was a big deal
27. So does Obama and so did Clinton
28. No, but Gingrich and Hyde never committed perjury or were disbarred
29. LOL..Obama keeps GITMO open, is still using FISA and rendition and no conservatives are complaining.
30. No one was outraged when gasoline went from 1.29 to 1.40 under Clinton. Now youre showing yourself to be a 100% complete idiot
31. Again Richard Armitage outed Valerie Plame. not Libby, not Rove and not Cheney
32. Wow youre an idiot. Cross over voting is not a felony, Democrats were actually CONVICTED of vote fraud in WI in 2004 and the left still thinks Bush stole FL when in fact it was Gore who was stopped from stealing FL
33. Actually, it is Obma;s pastor who is anti-Semitic not Hegee. And yes, Obama should be held accountable for his TWENTY years as a member of that “church”
34. No, but his mother was a communist and his father an anti-colonial drunk
35. Actually Clinton was the 2nd most conservative president after Reagan. Clinton raised taxes less than GHW Bush did in 1990, Clinton cut capital gains taxes from 28% to 20% and threw millions off welfare. Clinton describes himself as an Eisenhower Republican
36. Even with a teleprompter, gibberish spills out of Obama’s mouth
37 and 38: Patently untrue
39. Oh so now you think the Afghanistan war is worth fighting. All your previous points on war certainly indicate your opposition to the Afghan war. So which is it?
40. Well nobody is more arrogant than Obama.
41. Clinton never had a $300b surplus, Bush never had a 1.5 trillion deficit and Obama will run up more debt in 2.5 years than Bush did in 8 and Obama will run up more debt in 4 years than all US Presidents COMBINED
42. Palin was never found guilty of anything. All ethics charges against her have been dismissed. Her son was never give the choice of military or jail, that would violate the 8th menedment
43. Studies have shown CCW laws actually reduce crime. It was two black citizens in Washington and Chicago that won second amendment cases against the gun control happy mayors in those two cities. I suppose hte left thinks those two black citizens are Republicans
44. Moron, Beck and Hannity arent journalists, they are commentators. Big difference. But no conservative comes close to humiliating themselves the way Helen Thomas and Dan Rather did
45. Definitely. The more Obama fails, the better for America. The left has been blaming America first for 40 years and you have done so numerous times in your post
46. More lies. It was Carter who deregulated banking in 1980 and Clinton who got rid of Glass Steagal in 1999. But the economic crisis was caused mostly by the Fed.
47. The Big 3 produced vehicles nobody wanted thanks to the US govt and CAFE standards. Are unions to blame. partly but so is mgmt. Contrary to what leftist think, the public doesnt want little econoboxes like the Italians drive
48. Obama is a deep narcissist. A cold individual who gives “shout outs” during press conferences after the Ft Hood shootings
49. Orly Talitz is a nut, she’d make a perfect leftist just like Code Pink
50. The left is pretty bad..
All and all too easy to refute
.
AWESOME!!!!!!
Wow, Emo. You’re not only an uneducated moron, you’re prolific in sharing proof of it!
This is a load of ignorant garbage. No wonder we normal people are so through talking to you folks on the Left. Grow up, start acting like adults, and help solve the problems or just shut up and let the adults do it.
You’re right… somebody has to solve it since the right screwed it up.
What Adults? Last time I checked, Adults do not call names or belittle others.
Haven’t read such nonsense from the hardleft since GW was president. Funny how QUIET it became since Obama became president. What happened to all those phony antiwar protesters or about getting us into another conflict. Maybe those Whiners are hiding beind his Noble Peace prize. Now the world knows what the left is all about. Spend Spend Spend
This site is apparently for the undereducated, whiners who failed to earn an education that positioned them for success. The philosophy of the posters above: ‘What’s mine is mine and what’s yours is negotiable.” ….losers all.
I’ve always considered straw man arguments to be the product of a weak intellect. The writer and his admirers probably believe Al Gore won the popular vote in Florida.
Nope, I don’t think Al Gore won the popular vote in Florida. Since the Supremes stopped the counting, we’ll never know for certain one way or the other. But I’ll bet you believe George W. Bush won fair and square.
I’ve always considered those who deploy the “straw man” card to be searching for the easiest way out of addressing the content of the article, which I notice you declined to do. Tell me more about your robust intellect.
While he may not have won the popular vote in Florida, he did, in fact, have the popular vote in the nation. This should have, in a reasonable (read “truly democratic”) government, lead to President Albert A. Gore. We have, however, a democratic republic, and so we get this genius idea of electoral college. In 26 States, there are no laws requiring electors to vote for the pledged candidate based on the popular vote. Florida is one that does require by law that an elector vote based on their pledge, but there is no legal ground for a faithless vote to be rescinded. Michigan is the only state with such a statute to my knowledge. It should also be noted that all electors in the state of Florida are nominated by the Governor of the state at the time of the election, in this case, Jeb Bush. Even if Al had won the popular vote there, who’s to say there wouldn’t have been a series of faithless electors, who would likely be pardoned if the cases even went to trial, and George could have won just the same?
Actually most nations dont elect their leaders in a popular vote. France is an exception. But any country with a parlimentary system of govt doesnt elect their leaders based on popular vote. The only Britons who ever voted for Tony Blair were the ones in his district. And it has happened in both the UK and Australia where the party that got the most votes didnt get the most seats
But we live in the United States of America, don’t we?
Ummmm…. thought it was ELECTORIAL votes that decided who’s president????
Actually, even in Florida, when you vote for President, you are voting for the electors that have pledged to vote for that person. They are not nominated by the Governor. The names of the electors used to be printed on the ballot. I don’t know if they still are, as I don’t live in Florida anymore.
Moving from the Strawman to the Question-Begging Epithet. Nice logical move!
well actually there was a recount, an extensive and thorough one, altho unofficial, thanks to the Supreme Court, and it showed even when considering every criteria of counting or dismissing votes, that Al Gore had in fact won the popular vote in Florida and hence the national election.
The post: “I’ve always considered straw man arguments to be the product of a weak intellect.” is in itself a straw man argument. and that is unarguable. while the original post being one is arguable, IMHO.
Bush did win fair and square. Gore was struck down 7-2 because he wanted selective recounts, thus violating the 14th amendments rights of FL voters. He was then struck down again 5-4 when he wanted the recounts to continue because the date for certifying the election had passed. NYT and USA Today analyzed ALL the ballots in FL 2000 and Bush still wins
Untrue, NYT WSJ and USA Today analysis showed Bush won and some ways of recounting gave Bush an even bigger lead
I want to print these up on little business cards and just hand them out when I hear the insantiy being fired up by “real americans”.
Nothing like passing off other people’s ideas as your own
Aww, whutsamatter Emo, are the big bad liberals making you feel icky? Then MAN UP! And quit lying… we’re way beyond cover-ups now.
Cracked me right up. In a sad kind of depressing way.
This certainly explains the countries divide. What I will never be able to figure out is why the average Joe Schmoe republican is a republican. Seriously we all know republican middle class couples that are self-destructive in their voting. uninformed?? stupid?? Voting their aspirations to achieve the top 1%?? Somebody tell me why?
Read Bright Sided by Barbara Ehrenreich. Your questions will be answered.
tl;dr version:
You might be a Republican if you are a MASSIVE hypocrite.
Actually, this IS a really good compilation of wake up calls. I must admit that normally I tend to refrain from posting pointed jabs that aren’t completely 100% justified. Yet this nails it, with minimal to no grammatical/spelling errors. Whoever edited this was on their game, and it shows. Thank you.
Thank you Wayne.
Excellent work, Mr. Lindner!
Good stuff!!
OMG….This is excellent outfukin standing, it is the most powerful and clever facts, that I have read. Keep up the good work
Be nice to see the idiot back up his supposed “facts”as they seem more like left wing talking points.
As a libitard would say, democRATS don’t like G.W. Bush because he’s white! RACISTS!
And Barack Obama IS a “narcissistic megalomaniac”.
Golly Frank, and I’ll bet you deny being a racist, right?
Frank… WTF? That simply doesn’t make sense! Have you been taking lessons from GW in secret?? C’mon. you can tell US!
Let me be Frank…..wait, that would require a lobotomy first.
