Mitt Facts: Lynch Time

Of everything that will ever be said on this site, this one post should be the one most concerning one, to everyone.

Mitt Romney has declared that we need to “hang” Obama:

“We’re going to hang him — uh, so to speak, metaphorically — with, uh, with, uh — you have to be careful these days, I’ve learned that, with an Obama Misery Index.”

Do you know what the worst possible thing about that is? He got applause.

    I’m certain he was still referring to the misery index and it slipped out that way. Fact is still it slipped out that way clearly indicating that is the kind of thing in the back of his mind

    I no longer get upset with this mess. Europeans are asses. Period. I am not surprised at the blowhard mentality. KKK in the house! If a person of ANY ethnic group made the comments these people say, they would be made to leave their post. While they think clever, they only show how stupid they are. Thank God for the constitution; otherwise they would be in prison.

    Romney should not have made that statement. If he want’s to be President, he needs to clean up his language. A person in that position needs not only to set an example for those that he leads, but also as President he represents the people of the United States to the rest of the world. The phrase he used has an underlying innuendo and was crass!

    If you watch the video, he is just screwing up a metaphor Reagan used successfully on Jimmy Carter, hanging an economic “misery index” around Carter’s neck.

    A slightly more dangerous metaphor to use with a black President, but he recovered well.

    Mitt is no racist. Both he and his father George were early supporters of Martin Luther King. King even supported Mitt’s dad for President!

    Wasn’t there some GOP comment recently about an Albatross around his neck but they actually said Alcatraz around his neck? WhatRomney said was crystal clear and totally about good old boys lynching.

    Why is there an Ann Coulter ad? Is AddictingInfo that hard up for money?

    I’m no Mitt fan, but this is a disgusting example of editing down quotes. Leave that to Andrew Breitbart. At least you put in a source link but it just shows the deception. This is no different than Andrea Mirthell saying Obama had a “final solution”for israel, then sputtering out a correction. Worse, actually, because Romney led up to it with hanging records around president’s necks.

      He’s saying that we need to hang Obama, and considering the history in this country of hanging African-Americans anyone with common sense could see why this is offensive.

      Just so people don’t think that he didn’t say what he said;

      “Well, we’re going to have to hang the ‘Obama Misery Index’ around his neck. And, I’ll tell you, the fact that you’ve got people in this country, really squeezed, with gasoline getting so expensive, with commodities getting so expensive, families are having a hard time making ends meet. So, we’re going to have to talk about that, and housing foreclosures and bankruptcies and higher taxation. We’re going to hang him — uh, so to speak, metaphorically — with, uh, with, uh — you have to be careful these days, I’ve learned that, with an Obama Misery Index.”

      NOT an appropriate thing to say.

      I disagree. Context is everything, and the simple fact is that one cannot refer to “hanging” a black man in the U.S. without invoking the specter of lynching, even after the comment about Reagan hanging something on Jimmy Carter.

    That is a blatant threat. Why is this man not in jail?!
