Oh for Heavens’ sake, has the Right learned NOTHING from the Murphy Brown debacle?! Do. Not. Argue. With. Fictional. Characters. Especially if they are extremely popular! You come off looking like an imbecile.
Gretchen Carlson, one of Fox’s talking bimbos, is taking point on this one. I’m sorry, did that come off as sexist? Let me explain. Gretchen graduated cum laude from Stanford, yet she deliberately conceals her obvious intelligence and hard earned education to play second fiddle to two idiots. She chooses to be just another pretty face with an empty head, which is so much worse than actually having an empty head. So, yes, I shall call her a bimbo because that is what she has volunteered to be.
Anyway, Gretchen (Stanford graduate with honors) had this to say about SpongeBob:
“Well we all know that SpongeBob is popular with kids and for the life of me I still keep trying to figure out why. My kids watch limited TV, but every time they choose that show, I’m like why. Anyway, it’s hard to even follow sometimes. Maybe that will be a good thing because SpongeBob is talking a lot about global warming and he is only looking at from one point of view.” (emphasis mine)
Just to reiterate: Gretchen (Stanford graduate with honors) can’t follow a show that young children and stoned college kids get without any difficulty. No, she’s not a Bimbo, she just plays one on TV.
Just to top off the dumbness of this entire unfortunate incident, she tries (and fails) to make the point that SpongeBob should present both sides of an “argument” that only exists inside the Koch-induced fantasy world of the far Right.
Of course, one must wonder if Gretchen is also offended that SpongeBob Squarepants promotes Roman mythology in the form of King Neptune, Ruler of the Seven Seas, instead of Christianity. Or maybe she should be worried that the Mr. Krabs, the wealthy “job creator” that owns the Krusty Krab restaurant is portrayed as a cheap, greedy charlatan that abuses his employees?
Personally, I think she should be extremely offended that the toughest character in the show is also the smartest AND from Texas! Why? Because Sandy is a girl and, as we all know from Gretchen’s example, girls aren’t as smart as boys.
