Americans readily admit that the new members of Congress are a bunch of dim-witted shaved monkeys, but now it seems they despise those dimwitted shaved monkeys as well.
A new poll has congress’ disapproval rating at an abysmal 82 percent—the lowest since the poll was first taken in 1977. Indeed, the New York Times/CBS News Poll concluded a complete and utter lack of confidence and trust in the Republican Congress. It’s safe to assume that Americans wouldn’t even find them competent and capable enough to prepare them cereal.
Here are some of the more damning conclusions from the poll:
Republicans in Congress shoulder more of the blame for the difficulties in reaching a debt-ceiling agreement than President Obama and the Democrats, the poll found.
The Republicans compromised too little, a majority of those polled said. All told, 72 percent disapproved of the way Republicans in Congress handled the negotiations, while 66 percent disapproved of the way Democrats in Congress handled negotiations.
The public’s opinion of the Tea Party movement has soured in the wake of the debt-ceiling debate. The Tea Party is now viewed unfavorably by 40 percent of the public and favorably by just 20 percent, according to the poll. (Source: Gawker)
Well, there you have it. Is it quite possible that the reliably uninformed American public is finally waking up from its reality-TV induced coma and figured out what we in Realitytown, USA have been saying ad nauseam; that is, the Tea Party movement is nothing more than a corporate-funded band of far-right crazies, who yearn for the total annihilation of democracy and reason in exchange for a majorly dumbed-down plutocracy. Maybe so, when you consider that Obama’s approval ratings remain the same at 48 percent, and that Americans have more faith in him on the economy than his Congressional Republican counterparts by a 14 point margin, according to the poll.

Have you ever seen hatred this bad? More and more divided nation today, than ever! A nation divided will fall. Where is the unity? This country needs unifying, not hatred and division! Where is the love and laughter? That is what this country needs more of, but you sure do not see it here!! Live, laugh and love, not division!
What does a Washington politician get when he takes Viagra? Taller.
I have no love for the Republicans or the Tea Party, but for the love of the American Dream, take the Corporate Democrats with them!
Right on. Some of the Dems are questionable, too. We need forward thinking people, not the same ole same ole.
Sure would be nice if those awakened voters would actually DO something about it. But it is probably too late, control is not easy to overthrow when those in the driver’s seat refuse to share the road. We are being given far fewer choices than we had under the old 2-party system. This selfish, unjustified whining and lying propaganda from the right is really getting old (as are those who are funding it.) We know the source of the lies, Faux News, we know the source of the funding, the Kochs, Murdoch, AFP, etc. Now all we need to do is put them out of business. Boycott ALL Fox advertisers. Refuse service to Republicans. If one sits next to you, move (and tell them why – “I do not wish to associate, or be seen associating with, your kind.” That phrase is important, it’s a favorite of racists and plutocrats.)
Driving them out of government is the only legal option, and that window is closing FAST. So get on the stick. Get ‘er done. Make it so. (Whichever representational archetype you respond to – just kick these fascists out NOW, before the damage gets worse…)
I had bad feelings about this Congress since they were elected.
Vote out the GOP/ Tea Party treasonous scum!!!
Perhaps they should be instutionalized. Remember when speaker Boehner was crying like a baby? Remember he said he was crying because the American dream was not going to be available for his son (or something close)? Check out “Pseudobulbar affect” on the Wikipedia and elsewhere. Wikipedia states “Pseudobulbar affect (PBA), emotional liability, labile affect or emotional incontinence refers to a neurologic disorder characterized by involuntary crying or uncontrollable episodes of crying and/or laughing, or other emotional displays. PBA occurs secondary to neurologic disease or brain injury. Yes, reread that….The third person in line to become president probably has a “neurologic disease or brain injury”! He is the third person in line isn’t he? Does this bother anyone beside me?
