@Linda: Now you see that little comment you made just proves what you are really afraid of and that’s the fear of a Black President. President Obama has never said anything about changing the constitution not at all, what you and that other person who thinks he wants to change should be worried about is the republicans they are the ones who want to change the rules, the law, the constitution, the court rulings and life as we know it. They are the ones pushing for people to believe what they believe, worship who they worship, do as they do, make a person do things he or she does not want to do. People have died for the freedoms we have right now and the republicans are trying to take away those rights and freedoms. People are still dying for our rights and freedoms and the republicans are trying to take that away from women, children, other races and other religions, have you not notice that? As for the “czars” you mention what President did not have their own czars that he appointed. Look at what reagan done with his czars, used them against the black race, you ever heard of COINTELPRO? Now exactly what part of the constitution is Obama trying to change. Get your facts straight before repeating what you heard on fox or from limbaugh, I would not repeat anything they said without fact checking. Tell fox we know Obama is Black and they don’t have to keep using those code words to describe him, his parties or who he keeps company with. You didn’t have a problem with bush partying, holding hands with other muslim leaders, or starting a war with a country that didn’t attack us. What difference does it make what The President did for his birthday if he had done anything to get jobs back the republicans would block it. Look who is destroying this country just to destroy one man, one black man. Stop trying to overlook the prejudice and hatefulness that comes out of fox’s mouth and pay attention to what’s really going on. Obama has held his head high, acted like an adult, ignored the pettiness of fox.

I have never heard a person deride this President because of his race. His inability to govern, manage, or lead our government is what people in this country are angry about. During his run for the office, I was concerned about his lack of specifics, other than ‘change’. When in the five days before the election, he spoke of ‘fundamentally changing our county’, I knew I couldn’t vote for him. Fundamental change meant changing the Constitution to me. But how could he do that? I soon saw. He appointed people (czars) to groups he invented. His regulatory czar has power over nearly everything we do now. This president is to be feared, not because he’s black. Nobody much cares about that sort of thing anymore. I fear him because of what he’s doing to our country. He doesn’t seem to have any loyalty or love for our country, form of government or the Constitution.

Linda, what planet have you been living on during the past two years?

Jose, I don’t agree with Linda, but (as I relearned in law school) reasonable minds may differ. I see fundamental change as empowering the weak, clothing the naked, feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless. She sees it as a possible threat to our beloved Constitution (which was amended to rid us of slavery, to give voting rights to women, to clear up presidential succession, etc.). I hope she’s wrong, but I don’t see her as an alien.

Linda – there’s so much unvarnished, and fact free fear in your comment it’s hard to know where to start. How about a few simple questions: How was the President (any President) going to “change the constitution”? You do know how the 3 branches of govt. work right? “His regulatory czar”? Really – which Czar would that be, and what powers (“over nearly everything”)have been demonstrated.

Sorry, but I’m not buying your weak rational for disliking the man, and firmly believe the truth is something baser… a truth you can’t even just come out and admit. Pretty sad.

Pelosi, Reid & Clinton were in attendance at the birthday bash, ate the food and listened to the music as well as many other non-minorities. So what does that mean in context to the racial slurs and innuendos? Last time I checked,Pres. Obama had a White mom so that makes him just as White as he is Black. Maybe the Black half of him went to the party and the White half stayed home…hmmmm. The implications here are a carry-over from slavery days that because he is half Black then that negates any other parts of his ancestry. It is time now to acknowledge and identify racist statements and perspectives whenever they are made and to call those out who make them. Will someone let Fox News know that this is the 21st century and that African-Americans and other minorities have the right to the same freedoms as every other citizen.

“Its that time of year again folks when the president tries to convince us he was born. We’re not buying it Obama. Everybody knows that American presidents are born in February. That’s why its called Presidents Day! Instead of going to a birthday party he should have been working on the economy, now the recession is going to last four hours longer! It is completely inappropriate for the president to turn a year older when the nation is crisis!” –Stephen Colbert

….so these fools never took journalism or media degrees? c’mon…. I guess they never heard of the term ‘emotive language’ either … in fact, are they literate at all?

Okay, so the libs get to trash George W. Bush, constantly slander him, and openly hope for his death; and it’s no big deal. The Tea Party stands against Obama on the basis of policy, not because of race, but are continually slandered by the liberal media as racists, sexists, terrorists, bigots, etc. The Democrats, led by Obama, essentially committed armed robbery with this recent debt deal, there are no cuts and they (the libs) get another $2+ trillion to waste and buy off votes via socialist handouts and funding of organizations such as ACORN (or whatever it goes by now). The majority of the racists, sexists, bigots, and terrorists are in the leadership of the Democrat Party. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Clinton, etc., and their desire to condemn the American people to a life of servitude to government will lead to another American Revolution.

slander? saying someone started a war on false information isn’t slander. the democrats actually got hosed on the debt deal (there’s a reason everyone is unhappy except for Boehner) – you sir, are monumentally delusional. the best thing for you would be single-payer healthcare, so that you don’t get stuck with the bills for all the intense therapy which you so desperately need. you’re not even trolling, you’re just….. not in touch with reality.

So how is slandering George Bush when he lied about the reasons to go into Iraq (as Curve Ball admitted), said we didn’t torture (yet it was proven later is was going on)?

Please tell me how that was slander? Oh yea it was George Bush slandering.

The right only thinks in the opposite world.

The one part of this article I disagree with is ” Just leave the intolerance and bigotry at home in the closet under the years of self-loathing and insecurities”. I prefer they keep their hatred and stupidity out in the open so I will know to continue to avoid them as a news source. I appreciate YOUR reporting of this however. Since I do not monitor Fox news the only way I learn of their shennanigans is through such reporting.

I don’t understand attacks on the President based on his race, I really don’t. It completely throws out anything else you have to say when you slam a man for his race, especially the President, who you should respect, even if you don’t agree with his actions.
Criticize his policies, do it intelligently, respectfully, constructively and civilly sure and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Also realize that this current mess we are in cannot be solely blamed on Obama, as President Bush also deserves a large share of the blame. Bush simply had the benefit of his term ending in 2008, or rest assured, he would have gotten us into this same mess. The amount of racism stemming from some of the GOP congressmen, Fox News, and others infuriates me, not only because these kinds of views are toxic, but because it places a stigma on anyone who criticizes President Obama’s policies. If you disagree with the President, you must be one of those Tea Party racists.
Well, I am not. I am a Libertarian who’s support will go to whoever protects the values of freedom the best. At the moment, that is Ron Paul.

“For the most part I believe Fox doesn’t realize what they are saying, or writing, or implying when they do it. I truly believe that this sort of dialogue is so embedded into their minds that they think it is appropriate, and/or mildly amusing.”

On that, I think you are delusional at worst, naive at best. They know damn well what they are doing and they are pandering to their racist conservative base. On the positive side, at least the Klan is being open and honest and stopped hiding behind their white sheets.

FOX knows it is racist but cloaks it. Murdoch runs the tea party and their agenda.

It is like Trump saying he gets along with “the blacks” as though that doesn’t have racist connotations.

Personally I’m getting really tired of this, this has been going on since Obama got elected and it’s time for them to grow up and act like adults, and it’s time for us as Black American’s, as American’s, as a Country to start putting our foot down, to start getting sick and tired, to stop being silence, to start having the President’s back, to just say ENOUGH ALREADY!!! We have been quiet long enough, we have let them get away with this for too long and it’s time we stop sitting back and letting them get away with this any longer. That’s why they keep doing it. We are silent. When fox speak of the President in a racist way they speak about all blacks in a racist way, and now I’m just tired of it.!!!

It’s time to wake up the African American voters and made then understand this is about them also when the do this to our president. @ Rose please go back to your klan meeting and get a clue. Grown ups are speaking here.

Huh. On one hand, I kinda want to slam them for going losing their subtlety (what little they had), attacking Obama’s personal day that he has damn well earned after dealing with this debt-ceiling debacle/fiasco/clusterfuck, and slamming him for not creating jobs when the Reds haven’t lifted a finger to create ONE job the entire time.

On the other hand, the fact that they’re going this far kinda shows that they’re scraping the bottom of the barrel. Look at them. They’re desperate.

Why not do both at once?
I’m going to sit back, and take amusement in watching them crash and burn.

The problem is the tea party is too stupid to know Congress is responsible to the debt, taxation, jobs and government fiscal policies. Of course they will blame Obama. These are the same people who think they got a tax rebate from Bush or these last cuts. Ask them what they got as they have no idea how little it was and yet the tax breaks for the rich each year are more then they will make in their entire lifetime.

The Republicans said they would hold the debt ceiling hostage every time to get what they want, yet say no to anything Democrats offer. They aren’t working for the people… as their mandate is to get rid of Obama at all costs… whether it costs them the poor dying in the street, your kid’s education, your job or your future SS. They do not give a crap.
