the caption should be “my husband did what to your husband???”

  2. Christina on August 12, 2011 at 10:15 PM

That’s just her face. That’s the way she looks. The joke is on the people crying about it! She posed for it, it’s not like they photographed her in mid-grimace while speaking!

  3. Rehsab Thgir on August 11, 2011 at 10:20 AM

She’s like Reagan: Likes to wear makeup so thick you can stick a nickel in it.

And those let-me-tell-you-about-Jesus eyes are… creepy.

    • Ed Orlando FLA on August 11, 2011 at 12:54 PM

This picture shows exactly why Botox is really a bad idea.
Is that crazed look the result of Botulism injection,
or is she just crazy ?
This is the same person who said that USA loosing Tripple-A rating was no big deal, now look at the world-wide mess the stock market is in now.
I think the picture is an accurate representation.
If the shoe fits wear it, and oh how well she wears it !

  4. Nikolai on August 9, 2011 at 7:24 PM

She thinks she’s smiling and looking good like a cheerleader does, but a cheerleader at least looks human.

  5. Nikolai on August 9, 2011 at 7:17 PM

What the hell are they bitchin’ about? That picture IS Bachmann in a nutshell… so to speak.

  6. American-Musashi on August 9, 2011 at 5:06 PM

Mantra for Americans in the 21st Century: The Female ego is not well understood.

  7. JOHN on August 9, 2011 at 4:14 PM

    TWEEKER EYES

    • Nikolai on August 9, 2011 at 7:18 PM

You know, I never thought of that, but you might be on to something John!

  8. abennett4 on August 9, 2011 at 11:07 AM

I’m against what the tea party stands for and am appalled at Bachmann’s stances on issues. However, to make fun of her appearance and to say she looks “mentally ill” is simply uncalled for and just an example of reverse intolerance. You would not tolerate it if it was happening to President Obama.

    • Charles Decelles on August 13, 2011 at 8:53 AM

Much worse has been said about Obama. I don’t get why Bachmann is so prominent? But in any case I also agree that we need to treat them like we would want them to treat us. On another note though, I have always thought that she had an aspect of “creepy” written all over her face.

  9. Kevin Caraher on August 9, 2011 at 9:48 AM

She should have prayed away the day that her eyes were fixed in that way !!!

  10. J Lynch on August 9, 2011 at 8:20 AM

I’ve never seen her looking any different.

    • Darrel on August 10, 2011 at 6:33 PM

That was my first thought—–”does she ALWAYS look that way?” And if so, why hasn’t anyone pointed it out as, um, less than flattering???!!

  11. Roger Freedman on August 9, 2011 at 12:48 AM

It’s ironic that the Bachmann campaign represents the best chance for getting a gay man into the White House.

  12. yemin a bawa on August 9, 2011 at 12:20 AM

It’s uncanny how appropriate that picture is.

    • Nikolai on August 9, 2011 at 7:19 PM

      APPROPRIATE… You NAILED it!

  13. John-John on August 9, 2011 at 12:17 AM

So she is neither pretty or smart. :D

  14. Eli on August 8, 2011 at 10:34 PM

NW Photographer: “Michele, relax and look into the camera; smile.”
Michele: “I am looking into the camera, my skin is too tight.”
NW Photographer: “Bring your gaze down, look straight ahead.”
Michele: “LOOK! My people, they’ve come for me!”
NW Photographer: “Crew: we’ve lost her. Can you get a two-wheel dolly, load her up and wheel her out of here. I think they brought us the wax version of Michele by mistake.”
Me: I’m going to h**l for this, I just know it.

  15. johnny33308 on August 8, 2011 at 7:29 PM

Thank you so much, people! I casually read this and within minutes found myself ROTFLMFAO! Tears were rolling down my cheeks! You guys, except for two who didn’t get it, but you guys gave me the best laugh I’ve had in a month-and everything all of you said was so fffnn true! WOW!

  16. Harold Harcourt on August 8, 2011 at 7:21 PM

According to the Manual: “Your basic 1956 model X-480-Female model robotic android did seem to have a few bugs in the facial expression control and intelligence modules on some of the factory seconds. The fault was chiefly noticed in the eyes but was not seen as a major problem needing recall as these were, in fact, factory seconds anyway, sold without warranty primarily to the US government for small arms and enlisted sex surrogacy. Few complaints were received, and these were almost always in conjunction with the units being used for operations outside of stated design specifications; ie: general intelligence, history, math, science, integrity, veracity, public service. As a side note, these factory second units also had trouble with identifying non-white units and human operators and compromised floating point belief system processor.”

  17. e on August 8, 2011 at 7:20 PM

    “Heeeeere’s Johnny!!!”
    Or another Jack classic:
“Who’s the head bull-goose loony around here?”
She’s wearing the wrong kind of jacket.

  18. railroadmike on August 8, 2011 at 7:16 PM

I read John Boehner were riding in the same plane with Michelle Bachmann. Boehner stated to Bachamnn he could throw out a $1000 dollar bill out the window and make someone happy today. Bachmann replyed, I could throw 10 $100 bills and make 10 people happy today. The pilot over hearing the conversation leaned over to his co-pilot. I could throw both these big shots off the plane and make 256 million people happy today.

    • Chris on August 9, 2011 at 4:27 AM

Funny, but there is one flaw to this joke. Neither of these turds are concerned with making anyone happy, other than themselves.

  19. Richard S. on August 8, 2011 at 6:53 PM

Why give attention to this mental defect? You saw what happened when another lunatic with hateful views and religious fanaticism becae chancellor of Germany 79 years ago…..

  20. Archie P on August 8, 2011 at 5:59 PM

Just want to say a big THANK YOU to Newsweek for publishing a picture showing the entire country what we in Minnesota have known for a long time. She is an angry, horny(supposed straight husband, yea right), bitchy old woman. Who incidently has taken her share of Federal Tax dollars towards her “husband’s” Pray the gay away clinic. She has absoulutely no experience and no qualifications to be president of the United States of America. All she has is her failing Tea Party radicals which are rapidly dwindling away to they great abyss.

  21. Andrew on August 8, 2011 at 5:41 PM

I’ve seen that look at church. Women so infused with the Holy Spirit, they can’t close their eyes, or they will produce sonic boom flatulence, so they suffer with that wide eyed look over the horizon searching for a public restroom, so they can blink, and take the edge off.

  22. kris coumbe on August 8, 2011 at 5:30 PM

She does the blank stepford wife well………………and she has more wrinkles than me…..there is a g*d!

  23. Jackie_L on August 8, 2011 at 5:26 PM

And a pearl necklace we can be certain her husband didn’t “give” her.

    • Archie P on August 8, 2011 at 5:52 PM

      GREAT ON JACKIE L!!!!!!!!!!ROFLMAO!!!!

  24. riceroni on August 8, 2011 at 5:23 PM

If you ask me she had better be greatful they took some time to photoshop this pic up and make her look much better and less crazy like the lunatic she is.

  25. suewho on August 8, 2011 at 5:23 PM

She’s crazy. It’s obvious from her profile pic.

  26. FloridaJudy on August 8, 2011 at 4:50 PM

Sad, what an overdose of botox will do. Look at her forehead: it’s as smooth as a baby’s butt, but the rest of her face has the normal complement of wrinkles.
Sorry Michele, but your plastic surgeon can’t erase the crazy.

  27. SpiritOnParole on August 8, 2011 at 3:59 PM

“and many people are saying they picked a slightly less than flattering picture of her.”

You mean there are pictures of her that don’t look crazy?!

  28. Gary B on August 8, 2011 at 3:45 PM

What a whack job – she looks the part…
(“Queen of Rage”…isn’t that song by the Police…?…)

    • Matthew S. on August 8, 2011 at 8:35 PM

      No….That is “King Of Pain”

  29. Michael Brooks on August 8, 2011 at 2:43 PM

Doesn’t she have that same look as Jeffrey Dahmer, or is it just because she was having one of her hudge MIGRAINEs, knowing all the comments her pic will get?

Or,maybe it’s time to call in the Catholic Bishop to grant an exorcism! I know, she’s not Catholic, but who cares. She wouldn’t inderstand a word in Latin anyways….except the Devil himself! AAAUUUUUGGGHHHHH!

  30. btmom on August 8, 2011 at 2:23 PM

I guarantee she approved the photo. But now that people are talking about it, she’ll deny it.

It makes her look as loony as she is. It’s a cover. I’ll be interested to read the article. Her teachers and the people she admires are pretty out there, from what I have read elsewhere. I think the public needs to hear her background and philosophy from some source other than Fox.

    • Publius on August 8, 2011 at 2:46 PM

So, when do we get to see her eat the heads off rats?

  31. Patti on August 8, 2011 at 1:54 PM

I live in her district and have seen her in action since she ran for school board. At first she looks and sounds normal, even poised. Then you listen and…she sounds possessed. If you see this photo from a distance or glance at it quickly, she looks like an attractive woman. Examine carefully and she looks like a psychopath. The photo captures her perfectly.

  32. Mark Jackson on August 8, 2011 at 12:57 PM

I’m no fan of Bachmann but this is a good example of media bias. A professional camera can shoot 6 to 9 frames a second. The photographic editor can pick the one that supports their bias.

    • stone on August 8, 2011 at 3:44 PM

Generally, I would agree for a “civilian”, but as a future president everything is scrutinized, especially in this day and age. Body language, tone, everything is interpreted. If she is going to go on the hot seat, I blame her staff. Somebody should have told her she’s got crazy eye in photos and had her practice – its fairly standard, right up there with making sure the teeth aren’t yellow, the clothes aren’t out of wack. Also, this doesn’t look candid, meaning it was shot for the cover. She should have had it thrown out. And again, if her staff didn’t have access to the sheet, then what the heck? Regardless of her politics, this what she’s paying her people for and they shouldve done more more

      • WritingItRightForYou on August 8, 2011 at 5:45 PM

@stone: You hit the nail on the head. If her staff cannot “handle” her and her image now, what about down the road?!?!? And what does that say about her management/leadership skills?

    • K. E. Mason on August 8, 2011 at 4:58 PM

And to think she had a plastic surgeon create that look at great expense.

      • mary on August 8, 2011 at 6:04 PM

Did you . know that one of the signs of a mentally ill person is the whites of their eyes show all around. Look at other photos of her, they all look like this. She is mentally ill and the camera is merely showing what is already there. That and the fact that botox paralyzes selected muscles in your face.

    • Andrea on August 8, 2011 at 5:45 PM

How do you know this particular picture wasn’t the sanest looking one of the bunch?

    • Betty Bushey on August 9, 2011 at 5:35 AM

She has final say about the photo that is used!

  33. Strangely Enough on August 8, 2011 at 12:40 PM

The “batboy” photo is still better…

  34. David on August 8, 2011 at 12:35 PM

Ugh!! She looks like a cross between Sponge Bob Square Pants and bugs Bunny!!

  35. T. Hammond on August 8, 2011 at 12:29 PM

The photo does her, and us, complete justice by depicting her true wickedness. Trust me, I know…she’s my (I have never ever voted for her) “representative”.

    • carlene shope on August 8, 2011 at 2:15 PM

Pure wickedness and hatred. I live in Kansas and feel the same way about my Rep. but he is nothing compared to her.

      • Pam Miner on August 8, 2011 at 11:44 PM

Also from Ks. Our Gov was the only gov who was dumb enough to accept the invitation to rick perry’s prayerfest. They one where one of the sponsers said Oprah was the one who proceeded the Harlot, or was the harlot. Ant the guy who said Korea’s economy is bad because their leader had sex with “the sun goddess. He is a pimple on the face of Kansas.

    • Sharon on August 8, 2011 at 6:00 PM

I’m sorry to hear that…..to have a loon as your Rep…

  36. JohnnyP on August 8, 2011 at 12:28 PM

Looks like she just walked in on her husband, and go the surprise of her life!!!

    • Butlersride on August 8, 2011 at 6:28 PM

….and we have a winner. LOL

  37. Budd Phucker on August 8, 2011 at 12:27 PM

I assume she approved the use of the photo so if she thinks it makes her look crazy then you are witnessing one of the starkest examples of projection in the annals of psychological history and another clear indication of her mental illness.

I am sorry, Michelle, it’s not the photo that makes you look crazy, it’s the crazy things you say. How about a little Johari Window analysis on the scores of gaffes you have made?

  38. Tom Barnhart on August 8, 2011 at 12:24 PM

If she sounds crazy and acts crazy… chances are she’s crazy.

    • Nick Knight on August 8, 2011 at 3:47 PM

      She could be a duck.

      • Glenn on August 8, 2011 at 7:23 PM

        maybe she’s a witch!

  39. hereticzero on August 8, 2011 at 12:09 PM

I think they got the point across clearly.

  40. Michelle on August 8, 2011 at 12:01 PM

This photo represents Michelle Bachman perfectly; it’s a portrait of a crazy/deranged person

  41. Jason on August 8, 2011 at 12:00 PM

If the government is evil… and she’s in government… doesn’t that make her evil too?
