Top 10 Questions John Boehner Needs To Be Asked
1. Where is the GOP proposal for jobs?
We hear so much about “jobs, jobs, jobs” from the GOP, but the only thing the GOP is putting forward is actually cutting jobs. Maybe that’s what Boehner meant…….
2. Why is your gavel so big?
I think we all know the answer to this, but I would love to see someone ask him.
3. Are you afraid of getting skin cancer?
He is freakishly orange, as we all know, but as someone who HAS skin cancer… I would love to know how he feels about all his unnatural tanning.
4. Why is it that you are fighting President Obama on the debt ceiling, yet you had no problem raising it under Bush 19 times?
I think Mr. Weeper… sorry… Speaker has the notion that the American people have bad memories. I hate to break it to you Mr. Weeper.. Speaker; we don’t.
5. Why do you cry when speaking about your childhood, but not one tear sheds from your eyes when a fellow member of Congress is shot in the head?
This was beyond deplorable to me and the fact that he didn’t even go to see her is even worse.
6. With all this talk about spending cuts and debt reduction, why is it that no one mentions how much tax dollars you accept in your paycheck?
I think it makes sense to even the simple-minded that if we are going to cut spending, we should start with Congressional pay. I mean, think about it like a business. These people collect a paycheck, which the American people provide through tax dollars, so we are their boss. When the company (America) is in debt, is it not the employees who take a pay cut?
7. You claim that you came from nothing and as a boy you swept the floor of your father’s bar. Does that not just constitute as a chore?
I mean, his dad owned a bar and it was pretty lucrative, probably because he had his family do stuff he normally would have had to pay an employee for. To me, that is not growing up with nothing.
8. Would you consider taking a week off to go live the life of an average American so you can really understand what is going on?
I volunteer to be that person. (And I challenge ANY member of Congress to do the same.)
9. If our education system is broken, why are you voting to cut education programs that help better the country’s educational system?
This baffles me.
10. Why are you wasting time on legislation that you know will not get passed the Senate?
The Senate has told Mr. Boehner that many of his bills will be DOA (dead-on-arrival), yet he continues to try and push them through (like the Medicare-killing Ryan voucher plan) and waste time and our tax dollars doing it anyway.
I chose to ask Mr. Boehner these questions because he is the Speaker of the House and according to him, a “leader.” Well, Mr. Boehner, we are all waiting for you to lead.

Joel, what is this?: “My ‘republican’ views (which I hesitate to state as such since I’ve ALWAYS been independent/unenrolled) come from these political views: we need to have policies that are NOT overly influenced/corrupted by massive corporations – for instance, foreign policy in this country for the past century largely been shaped/directed by the industries that stand to profit from war – this needs to end (but neither ‘party’ seems willing).”??? In case you had not noticed, the Bush court has ruled that Corporations are “persons” with the right to give unlimited $$ to campaigns (“free speech”!!). Dems are not free from Corporate $$ by any means, but Repubs ARE the party of Corporate control. You are not a Republicon if you believe as you say above, but you should answer the question posed to you by the lady.
3:26 pm
He can’t answer because there isn’t one :)
10:16 pm
I think “Are you fucking retarded” needs to be one of them as well.
7:06 am
I am a tradesperson (electrician) for GM…. I live in the plant almost, working 7 days a week to make a little over $100,000 per year, and
I am too poor to be a republican….. Hint. Hint. Hint.
Just like the rest of the mere 95% of the population, that lots more of you 95 percenters make even less and may think that you are a republican.
The GOP sure does seem to be shooting for all of their 5% buddies wish lists instead of the vast majority of regular people that work for a living and think that they are a republican.
4:33 am
You may be too poor to be a republican, but I’m too well-informed to vote republicon and I make substantially less than you.
8:07 pm
Sir,
If you are a tradeperson making over $100,000/year, congratulations. I have a feeling your union status is responsible for that high rate of pay, the elaborate benefits package you have, and the fact that your company couldn’t survive without being bailed out and owned by every tax payer in the country. Thanks, dude.

VOTE!The Repugs and Tea Party are the paid employees, not of the people or federal government, but of the top two percent who are doing their best to take the country over wholesale. Grover Norquist should be prosecuted for sedition. Vote…or lose everything.
10:41 pm
I completely agree! Grover Norquist is a treacherous slimeball who along with his Rethugnican buddies have gotten America into the debt mess we’re in (remember when he said he wanted to drown government in a bathtub?) and have caused us to get to the point where he’s wanted all along: where we’re broke and being forced to rescind/cut New Deal promises — programs which have been part of the fabric of both Democratic and Rethugnican America for three-quarters of a century! Just because he’s one of the ugliest people alive and is insecure about it is no reason to take his inner hatred of himself out on everyone else in America.
Norquist is a traitor and should be treated the same way mass murderers are treated, because what he’s done will ultimately result in the deaths of literally countless people.
3:36 pm
I agree…he is a traitor!
9:13 pm
I have stated before that Norquist, The Koch Brothers and the whole Tea Party they fund are traitors. Technically, with Afghanistan still going on, and the War On Terror, we are “At War”
There is only ONE punishment listed for treason in war time – execution.
I’d be very delighted to see that happen.
3:22 am
VOTE!
9:27 pm
“9. If our education system is broken, why are you voting to cut education programs that help better the countries educational system?”
LOL – a grammar mistake in the question about education – makes one wonder if it was intentional?
(country’s – for those who don’t see it.)
10:29 pm
Yea, I saw it. But thank you for pointing it out. Read my bio… I do not claim to be perfect but glad to know you are willing to mock the imperfections. ^_^ Trust me I *smh* when i saw it.
11:41 pm
Add to the list of grammatical missteps on this article alone “Passed the Senate…” rather than “Past the Senate.”
3:01 pm
Did you know this: Salary of the US President – $400,000. Salary of retired US Presidents – $180,000. Salary of House/Senate – $174,000. Salary of Speaker of House – $223,500. Salary of Majority/Minority Leaders – $193,400….Average US Salary – $33,000 to $77,000. AVERAGE US MILITARY SALARY… $19,000 TO $22,000 !!
Shouldn’t be too difficult to find where the cuts should be made!
3:17 am
Don’t businesses actually fire people who don’t do their jobs?
10:03 pm
Yes. To fire them, we need to vote them out.
1:28 pm
I got it….How ’bout we pay them an hourly wage? Then they would be able to be absent as much as they want and THEIR wage will reflect their commitment?!
10:45 pm
Average amount those on permanent disability receive per month: $650 (note: disability is not welfare, it is insurance one pays in to).
Not too hard to see where some things need to be INCREASED despite all the other cuts the Rethugnicons are screaming need to be made (especially since they are the ones who got us into the current situation all by themselves)
9:16 pm
And yet, that disability insurance is one of the things they want to cut, because that is under the blanket of SSI, which they want to destroy by making us buy or retirement from Wall Street.
1:02 pm
WOW!!! A rare post on this site that actually speaks in SPECIFICS (instead of the ever-popular sweeping generalizations that you guys seem to love).
Personally I’d love to see the phony/criminal Boehner answer most of these though I think #’s 2,3,5 & 7 are either out-of-line, offensive or irrelevant but that’s just my $.02
1:58 pm
Yea thanks for the .02, that’s about what it’s worth considering you have no comprehension of satire.
2:39 pm
Actually Courtney Lynn, my comprehension of satire has always been fairly decent; generally speaking satire is just THAT; satire – NOT a mixture of what appears to be actual/valid points thrown in with goofy stuff that pretty much invalidates the rest of it.
Hey, it’s your piece and good on you for putting out some political satire…bad on me for thinking that this site was interested in actual solutions not just stirring crap up and/or dividing the country further…
2:46 pm
Dividing the country further? This country has been divided for 12 years… and the way the GOP is going, it is never going back. I am sorry I cannot and will not seek common ground with someone who wants me barefoot and pregnant cooking in the kitchen. I cannot seek common ground with someone who hates my friend because they are gay. Divided we stand and divided we will stay.
3:04 pm
the country has been divided for a LOT longer than 12 years and not everyone who has a different view on the role of government wants you ‘barefoot and pregnant’ or hates people based on arbitrary stuff like gender/ethnicity/sexual orientation.
You might want to turn off your TV every once in awhile – just because some idiots in government or on the demon box say they are ‘republicans’ while doing nasty shit doesn’t mean that they represent republicans.
Kinda like the same way that people who bomb women & children with unmanned planes and/or use depleted uranium weaponry across the world say they are democrats don’t represent all democrats.
I know – interacting & working with people of all different backgrounds & beliefs can require cutting through propaganda and understanding subtlety but ultimately I think it’s worth it…
3:58 pm
“just because some idiots in government or on the demon box say they are ‘republicans’ while doing nasty shit doesn’t mean that they represent republicans.” And yet, as you suggest you’re a reasonable person with workable ideas, and lots of other ‘Republicans’ are too, you will continue to vote for that crap. Hypocrisy, by definition.
7:46 am
Nik – which ‘crap’ will I ‘continue to vote for’??
Really (and this is one of the main thrusts of my posts) we should speak in SPECIFICS and not just assume stuff about people.
How exactly do you know whom/what I’ve voted for???
I have N E V E R voted ‘along party lines’ and N E V E R will – I cherish my integrity WAY too much to be played like a fool in that way.
Boehner is a fool/criminal IMO as are MOST politicians, regardless of their ‘party’ (I really don’t believe in the 2 party system since we seem to get the same things regardless of which party is in ‘power’)
Rather than making assumptions about each other we should ask direct questions and maybe we’ll learn something about our motives/reasons…
4:05 pm
Name one republican in office who supports gay marriage, abortion, planned parenthood, or funding public broad casting. Name me on republican in office that does not use their religion as leverage and tries to implement their beliefs into law. Please I would love to see that “list”.
7:30 am
Courtney – why do you think that EVERYONE who has different views on the role of government should be vilified and marginalized?
I agree; there are probably not many repubs ‘in office’ that support everything you support – a lot of the idiotic ones you see on the media squawkbox are pretty loud about idiotic reasons for why they don’t support gay marriage, abortion, etc etc (and who actually ‘supports’ abortion?? It’s one thing to support a person’s right to choose – as I do – but I think most sane people would say that abortion is not really a fantastic thing but more of a necessary procedure) – there are certainly plenty of others who use their alleged religion, though I think you can find similar examples on all ‘sides’
In a way you are making my point; just because the media highlights the loudmouthed idiots does not mean that the normal people of the world are happy to have those idiots ‘representing’ them.
If you want to see the ‘real’/sane side of republicans look closely at Ron Paul and Gary Johnson (without jumping to conclusions about WHY they don’t agree with you on the role of government).
While I don’t agree with everything these 2 say, I find them both to be very honest, consistent & compassionate.
Believe it or not, a LOT of people have come to their politically-conservative views precisely BECAUSE of their compassion towards the planet – exactly the same reason why a lot of self-identified liberals have come to THEIR political beliefs…
4:13 pm
This is why “fair and balanced” is a bit crazy. The right has their entertaining sources of information and the left has theirs. Why would one side want to get rid of the information they have to share while the other side spits their propaganda. I believe it goes beyond the “demon box” and those that are far right truly believe all they hear on it as well as in print. I won’t say all repubs are like their Fox News representatives, but it’s hard to understand why you go along with the beliefs they have when (from what it sounds like) you disagree with what they represent.
7:41 am
I agree with you Bee Willy – this is why I RARELY watch/read ANY of the content from the ‘corporate news’.
If you do a bit of research, you find that most of the mainstream media outlets and content aggregators are owned/influenced (board of directors, etc) by something like 4 or 5 massive corporations (who have close ties to the war and petroleum, etc industries). This is WAY different than 40-50 years ago when media was owned by 100′s of smaller companies & individuals.
I certainly do NOT ‘go along with’ ANYONE’S beliefs but have come to my own from decades of life experiences.
My ‘republican’ views (which I hesitate to state as such since I’ve ALWAYS been independent/unenrolled) come from these political views: we need to have policies that are NOT overly influenced/corrupted by massive corporations – for instance, foreign policy in this country for the past century largely been shaped/directed by the industries that stand to profit from war – this needs to end (but neither ‘party’ seems willing).
Obviously (to me) we need to return to the more compassionate/sane approach of non-interventionism (ie: STOP the imperialism).
We need to STOP funding industries such as massive banks and the petroleum cabal – these industries have caused more pain/grief than almost any other IMO (ie: Federal Reserve devaluing currency/causing recessions/crashes, wars for oil, cancer from refineries, etc)
The best way to accomplish this IMO is to return the federal gov’t to what it was intended; 3 branches of government that hold each other in check and have limited power, especially as relates to the people and the states…
In any case, I’m going on way too long here but I’m pretty passionate about trying to have people work TOGETHER rather than just doing a knee-jerk/puppet reaction to anyone who might have a different view on the role of government – there are REAL reasons for those views and some civil/respectful discussion will go a long ways towards educating us all…
1:36 pm
To Joel;
Just read your responses today (as this article was just tweeted).
I must agree with your words, which are all very well thought out and intelligent. You’re articulate and, frankly, inspiring.
Personally, I am an unaffiliated voter. My beliefs fall rather evenly dispersed between left and right (and when I refer to left and right, it is with pre-Reagan platforms in mind). I am beginning to wonder if that’s the case with the majority of this country Almost everyone I discuss politics with has similar opinions – yet this seemingly apparent opinion is not being reflect at all in our government.
If people want things to change, they have to actually inform themselves and then find proper candidates to represent us.
Found an interesting site … don’t know where it’ll lead or how successful it will be, but this little grassroots group is trying to get the country back into the voter’s hands and out of the deepest pockets. http://www.americanselect.org/about I wish them luck!
Anyway, I’ve gone on too much. Just wanted to thank you for your insight. You should get on the referenced site and become a delegate! I’d vote for ya!!!
2:17 pm
dude, the lady asked you A QUESTION DAMNIT! “Name one republican in office who supports gay marriage, abortion, planned parenthood, or funding public broad casting.” I would LOVE for a(as I ASSUME you are) republican to actually answer this question and not post stupid statements ridiculing the poster proving YOU are a retarded worshiper of faux news or a member of the Tea Party Jihad. if you actually follow the nonsense you claimed in your first replies, well, actually, you wouldn’t have posted.
isn’t it just like a republican(and I have some experience, every once in a while I go annoy republicans in the yahoo chats) to actually answer a question that proves their stance wrong instead of attacking the person making them think. if you cannot change your stance and admit you were wrong when it is Proved to be false nothing will change and why should we continue to listen?
9:20 pm
Question five shows a serious character flaw in that he weeps like a bad actor when discussing his past, but when a colleague is seriously injured by a wacko he shows NOTHING. That callous apathy is inappropriate in a national leader such as Speaker of the House.
4:44 pm
# 2 is valid because it speaks to why he thinks that the ego gratification of having the job outweighs the RESPONSIBILITY that he has to the American people.
# 3 is kinda goofy but if he has a problem with a black president then he needs to accept that some of us have issues with a little orange space cadet
# 5 is valid as he is a cold hearted F***k who cares about NO ONE but himself.
# 7 is valid because it shows that he is clueless about what it really means to do without and clearly has never done an honest day’s labor in his life.
5:24 pm
#3 is a personal question I would like to ask really. It pisses me off that a man can be so ignorant and vile and tan like that and be perfectly healthy. Not saying I wish he was not healthy, I would never wish that on anyone, but it just pisses me off.
12:52 pm
“5. Why do you cry when speaking about your childhood, but not one tear sheds from your eyes when a fellow member of congress is shot in the head?”
I think the question should end “But not one tear sheds from your eyes for the tens of thousands of children who go hungry because of Republican policy you have supported and intend to make worse.”
1:58 pm
Good point
1:49 pm
…or for our ‘children’ you continue to send to their deaths in Iraq & Afghanistan, for no good reason!
