Conservative Smackdown of the Day: 8-26-2011

"They want a cup of water? Bah! Let them drink Starbuck's!"

Awarded to Paul “old people suck!” Ryan for not just avoiding several of his angry, unemployed  constituents like Fox News avoids the truth, but also for locking them out of his PUBLIC office, denying them use of his PUBLIC office’s bathroom and threatening to have their cars towed if they parked in the lot that sits in front of his PUBLIC office.

“Man of the people” indeed.

Just to add insult to injury:

At one point the Ryan staff even tried to intimidate them. “We were told we had 15 minutes to fill out a request form for a meeting, and then we had to leave or be arrested,” Molina said. “Apparently our presence is distracting them from helping other constituents.”

Ridiculous. Paul Ryan is a public servant. He does not have the right to refuse to meet with the people he represents. Conservatives like to talk about “ivory tower liberals” but Ryan acts like the people of his district are beneath his mighty notice. I guess when you have your eyes set on ending Medicare and making Obama a one-term President, you don’t have time for the woes of the little peons.

And that is really what it comes down to: Republicans do not represent all Americans when they are elected. They only represent the ones that will get them re-elected. Liberals do not do this. Many on the Left are angry at Obama for not aggressively pursuing an extremely progressive agenda but the cold, hard reality is that this is not an extremely progressive country. It’s a more or less evenly split moderate country. In order to pursue a Far Left agenda, Obama would have to do exactly what disgusts us most about about the Right; he would have to ignore the voice of a full half of the country. Such an ideological approach to governance is not healthy for a country as evidenced by the disasters of the Reagan and Bush presidencies.

This is not to say that Far Left policies are even remotely as destructive as the Right’s laundry list of “How to destroy America in ten easy steps” but let’s not kid ourselves. If we only listen and act in the interests of one side, we could just as easily degenerate into the incestual clusterfrakk that is the Republican Party.

“Be careful when you fight scumbags, lest you become one.” – Filthy Liberal Nietzsche (sort of).

Congratulations Paul Ryan! You are a complete scumbag!!

I find Paul Ryan to be an absolute scumbag. And when I went to tell him so in an e-mail, I was asked to enter my zip to ensure that he was only dealing with constituents from his district. And yet, he apparently doesn’t even want to deal with those.
I would risk being arrested and having my car towed, were I a resident in his district.
It’s coming to the point, where we will no longer be able to sit down and discuss this oppressive war on the middle class and working poor, and instead will have to violently overthrow this oligarchy and the elitist faction that has allowed it to get to this level.

Hey David… I have a simple question for you… Since Obama is likely not going to turn over and give up the presidency without a fight, it’s likely the only choice you’re going to get is between him and some member of the GOP (and lets face it, unless it’s amended into the Constitution, you’ll never see an Independent become president, hence while only two choices…

Who are you going to vote for?… If you don’t vote for a democrat, you’re voting for a republican… There is no other way to look at it… If you do, then you’re a fool.

Wow..if you were/are one of Obama’s supporters..I’d hate for you to be his enemy David. If we want “Bulldozer Politicians” we could keep the Republicans in… I think President Obama has been strong when and where it counts..I think he Thinks First..carries a Big Stick, and Chooses his Battles, except for natural disasters, and the huge problems that effect mankind and the environment…like Oil Spills. I imagine by the time his 8 years are over, we will hear more of the Testicular Grit you envision. Civilized people need to act civilized. Those who are trying to sneak and connive, and manipulate for self greed/purpose..yell and scream and become testicular to cover up their dirty deeds..time will find them out..they have no true character. Maybe it’s the likes of you and I, that need to step in for President Obama, and turn tough on the antics of the opposition, to shut them up..and let Obama do his real job and purpose…either that, or we hire some thugs to walk them out back..which sometimes it feels like that is all they would understand..

Oh, come on, please don’t be an apologist for Obama. I voted for the man, and quite frankly, I’m very disappointed. You should be able to see that he clearly does not have a stomach for battle; he is obviously a professional rhetorician, not a pugilist. If I were in that high office, I would soundly thrash the right-wind nutjobs by taking out back for a good ole boy’s ‘wood-shedding session.’ OF course, since he is partly black, our Prez cannot even contemplate that kind of thing, most especially since the Repiglickin’s are all white, save several confused Castro-haters and of course, some token blacks. This is class warfare going on, and as the saying goes, “All is fair in love and in war.” We need a President who is unconcerned who he pisses off and who gets their knickers in a twist. What we really need now is “the buck stops here” Harry S. Truman, a man from ‘the show me’ state of Missouri. someone with TESTICULARITY and GRIT, not some pontificating panty-waist over-educated under-experienced elitist wanna-be. Michelle has done some pretty awful things herself, even before she becamse 1st Lady, so please don’t defend the man. Paul Ryan WAAS a menace, but he is no longer running, so he is HISTORY. Truly a SCUMBAG, though, so, good call on that one. I hope friends can agree to disagree. : )
