After threats of eviction were averted, Occupy Wall Street turned violent this morning. The video below shows a cop running over the leg of a National Lawyer’s Guild observer, reportedly breaking it.
When the man tried to free himself from scooter, the officer arrested him for kicking it.
This video shows a man who was punched in the face by a police officer, for no apparent reason:
The victim, who is HIV positive, spoke to Gothamist:
Rivera-Pitre, who is HIV positive and used to be a dancer, tells us he was walking a little bit in front of the police on William Street, and admits he “shot the cop a look.” But then, according to Rivera-Pitre (and this is in line with what we witnessed), “The cop just lunged at me full throttle and hit me on the left side of my face. It tore my earring out. I remember seeing my earring on the ground next to me and it was full of blood. I was completely dumbstruck. I’m HIV positive and that cop should get tested.”
About 15 people were arrested this morning.

When can we shoot back?
I am sure the pressure from the top is to end these protest and statement of people unrest. But why the hell a cop would become such a pawn in such an event. These unrest have been long over due. Under the previous administration they would have been arrested and sent to Cuba as war criminals; even if the protest weren’t all about dessenton to war involvement.
