Preacher Claims Rapture Will Happen In One Week…Again

Harold Camping, the California preacher who wrongly predicted the rapture on May 21st of this year and in 1992 and in 1994 says that October 21st will be it. For reals this time, maybe.

In an audio, Camping said, “I do believe we are getting very near the very end. We’ve learned that there is a lot of things we didn’t have quite right and that’s God’s good provision. If he had not kept us from knowing everything that we didn’t know, we would not have been able to be used of him to bring about the tremendous event that occurred on May 21 of this year which will probably be finished out on Oct. 21. That’s coming very shortly. That looks like at this point, it looks like it will be the final end of everything.”

What happened with his May 21st prediction? Well, according to Camping, everything is right on schedule.

“What really happened this past May 21st ? What really happened is that God accomplished exactly what He wanted to happen. That was to warn the whole world that on May 21 God’s salvation program would be finished on that day. For the next five months, except for the elect (the true believers), the whole world is under God’s final judgment. To accomplish this goal God withheld from the true believers the way in which two phrases were to be understood. Had He not done so, the world would never have been shaken in fear as it was.

These two words, “earthquake” and “rapture,” have been extremely important in our teaching of Judgment Day – May 21. A critical understanding of these two words is the only change required to know why the unsaved are now living in a world that has not been horribly destroyed, and the elect have not been caught up to be with God.

We always look at the word “earthquake” to mean the earth, or ground, is quaking or shaking violently. However, in the Bible the word “earth” can include people as well as ground.”

What do you plan to do with your last week on earth? To start mine, I thought I’d include my favorite rapture moment (Video):

  • The last time his rapture failed, he had a stoke. If he had any sense, he’d leave it alone because I don’t believe his mind could survive yet another failure. Nevertheless, if he persists with his auguries, I hope to see him survive at least ’til the 22nd.

  • Let’s see, one “*Christian” complaining that the “Christian” behind the curtain, cannot possible be a “Christian.”

No true Scotsman rears it’s ugly head again in order to protect “Christianity.”

Camping believes that HE has the right version of Christianity, Or at least support in the bible to be able to claim his “rapture rapport” every so often, I think it’s the fourth time he has claimed “rapture” I wonder when people will finally get it. He’s (and like the most of the preachers) like the little boy crying wolf.

And we all know what happened to the flock.

(IE, reality will bite you in the ass, if you believe in superstitious nonsense.)

You know, there exist a couple of thousands different versions of Christianity out there, each one declaring to be the “one true version of Christianity”

But your grandma got it right, kinda like Camping got his version of Christianity right.

The bible, the big book of multiple choice, now with more added choices!

  • What an attention whore. Donations must increase in the wake of these fake rapture announcements. What other motivation could he have? Not religious, I’m sure. My grandma always said the only word of God is in the bible. I’m not sure to what belief system Camping subscribes, but it doesn’t seem to be christianity.
