  • I think this is fantastic! I also support both OWS and the [original] Tea Party. It’s not a Repub vs. Dem thing, it’s not even conservative vs. liberal thing – although the media keeps spinning it that way. We may have different opinions about solutions, but we’re fighting the same enemy: The globalists and multinational corporations who have control over our government. THANK YOU TROOPS FOR DENYING TYRANNY!

  • A giant antiwar rally was scheduled for the following morning across the street from the White House, a hundred and fifty thousand protestors – a staggering number to have been organized and transported to Washington from all over the country at a week’s notice. {Nixon’s] staff was split. John Ehrlichman wanted to keep the lines of communication open to the protestors. Attorney General John Mitchell and especially National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger preferred crushing them with an all-out show of force. The military prepared to protect the White House…. The Justice Department had denied the demonstrators the use of the open grassy area across the street.. [moving them to H st}.. the demonstration’s marshals claimed to have inside information “from officials in the mayor’ office and other sources” that this was intended to be a giant kill zone; the plan was to “trap the crowd between a double horseshoe of police and troops” AFTER DARK, thus avoiding all those embarrassing photographs that had come out of Kent.

  • The involvement of current/former service members is great news and shows the widespread diversity of the Occupiers. On a more serious note, President Obama is the type to declare martial law, especially if his handlers demanded it. Knowing that some servicemen might not report and respond is encouraging.

  • There is at this point no stopping the Occupy movement which is gaining support and growing by the day and with dam good reason!

  • Kent State was a slaughter, it provoked a song by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young which became the sound track for the peace protests.

    “Tin soldiers and Nixon coming,
    We’re finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drumming
    Four dead in Ohio.”

    “Gotta get down to it
    Soldiers are cutting us down
Should have been done long ago.”

” What if you knew her and saw her dead on the ground? How could you run when you knew?”

    Neil Young

  • its out right to protest. its sad we need escorts to help us do it. but thank you marines.

  • Those of us that were there in the 60′s and 70′s stand with you in solidarity. Beware the provocateurs that incite violence, they are not us, they are the agents of the 1%. Read your American History, any time the wealthy have run into obstacles, they will stop at nothing, even death of innocents, to achieve their goals.
