Bryan Fischer, radio host and Director of Issues Analysis for the American Family Association, feels that we are leaving some important people out when discussing LGBT history; serial killer, John Wayne Gacy and mass murderer, Adolph Hitler.

This whole thing is about Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transgender History Month. So my question again, if this is about homosexual history month, are they going to feature all the homosexuals that had an enormous impact on history?
Are they going to feature John Wayne Gacy? He’s the homosexual pedophile, remember, that killed thirty-three young boys and young teenagers and buried them under the crawlspace in his house. He was a homosexual. Is he going to be a part of their display?
Adolf Hitler had a record as a homosexual prostitute in the streets of Vienna in the 1910s. He was denied promotions in the German military in World War I because of his homosexual behavior. He formed the Nazi Party in a homosexual bar, a gay bar, in Munich. All of his enforcers, almost every one of the Brownshirts; all the officers and almost all the Brownshirts were homosexuals. Is that going to be a part of Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transgender Month? We will wait to see.
Fischer is wrong. Homosexuality and pedophelia are not related. Neither are gay people and Hitler, except for the fact that he exterminated them right along with Jews and Gypsies.
Perhaps no celebration of white, straight men (virtually every day of the year) should go without mention of Franco, Mussolini and Ted Bundy.
Okay well, since they want the Bible taught in classrooms we should do that, and make sure we include everybody who was inspired by the Bible, including such high minded Christians as Charles Manson and Jim Jones. Also they should teach about such biblically inspired actions that made this country great, such as slavery, manifest destiny, witch trials, opression of women and minorities, not to mention the world wide benefits of biblical inspiration, like the Crusades, the Inquisitions, Anti semitism and European colonization of Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Let’s give the kids a well rounded education, (and also tell them where to find the real dirty parts of this great holy book.)
Hitler also had Ashkenazi (Rheinland) Jewish DNA. The Vienna police did list him as a homosexual and they also listed him as Jewish. This was in the days prior to WWI when he was trying to get into art school and would have lived among more bohemian-style people. I do not know if the Rothschilds were Ashkenazi, but supposedly Hitler’s grandmother was a maid for them and his father was her love child by a Rothschild. Recent DNA tests do show Jewish DNA in Hitler. Hermann Goering, one of the top Nazis, was Jewish on his mother’s side. These guys basically loathed their own backgrounds. Their actions may have resulted from their hatred of this. Hitler, if truly homosexual in Vienna, could have blamed others for it and thus was out for revenge. Or, if not, may have felt falsely accused and therefore resentful. Hitler did bed many women; in order to succeed as an actress in Germany, a girl had to have sex with him. Eva Braun was an actress. It is alleged that he was having sex with his underage niece; her death was ruled a suicide. He also hired a private pornographer. I don’t think it matters whether he was homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual, asexual, celibate, or a eunuch. I don’t care if he was part Jewish, Mexican, Lower Slobovian, Elbonian, or from the planet Melmac. He was pure evil.
He also claimed to “take back” Germany and make it a Christian nation. Now, where have I heard that rhetoric before…
To those who think the dunce that was saying this is a Christian, he is not. One has to realize that ever since Constantine hijacked Christianity and made it a tool of the state, rather than The Way to live here and hereafter (Constantine himself may or may not have converted; he either did before he decided to make it the official religion of the Empire, on his deathbed [still valid based on Jesus' teaching], or not at all), hundreds of thousands of so-called “Christians” have killed hundreds of thousands of other so-called “Christians” over even very trivial differences in interpreting Scripture. In many cases, the disputes have been more over political than spiritual differences, but as the song goes, “Do it in the name of Heaven, you can justify it in the end.” And to think the original Christians refused to fight in the armed forces and shared all possessions communally.
It’s unusual; Hitler was married (and not to a man). So I’m guessing Bryan’s assertion means Hitler was “on the down low,” right? In other words, just like many other straight married men in our society who are elected to public office and then have sex with other men. Not that unusual… This is apparently what “family values” is supposed to represent for these folks….
While I cannot accept the assertion Bryan makes about Hitler’s sexual preference (nor am I that interested in it), I find it equally odd that he suggests the Nazi party was formed in a gay bar. In fact, there is a plaque at the rear of the Hofbrauhaus in Munich that locates the origin of the Nazi party to the upper room above this famous Munich landmark. I was there and yes, there are pictures of the event that clearly locate the party’s founding in this location. If you’ve ever been there (as I have), it is hard to mistake it for a gay bar.
It seems as if Americans generally tend to ignore facts to suit their political opinions. And as a gay American and an educator, I think the real solution is improved critical thinking skills. But I suspect the politically powerful economic interests in this country want neither: an educated middle class and the ability to reflect critically on history. If they did, gay rights would be non-problematic (even for straight folks as it doesn’t really affect them) and several wars might not have been fought.
