Marine Veteran Shot By Police At Occupy Oakland Event Could Be First Protester To Die Since OWS Began

Iraq War veteran Scott Olsen was hit in the head with a projectile fired by police during their violent raid of the Occupy Oakland protests on Monday. Olsen was rendered unconscious, but his doctors at Oakland’s Highland Hospital listed him in critical, yet stable condition. It is now being reported that Olsen’s life may come to an end as a result of his injury.

According to The Guardian, Olsen’s skull was fractured and now his brain is beginning to swell. If Olsen dies, he would be the first ‘Occupy’ protester to die. Olsen served two tours in Iraq and after surviving war he could die because of an irresponsible and violence hungry American police officer.

If this marine dies, the police should be arrested and charged with murder. This soldier put his life on the line in Iraq and he was lucky to come home. Now, he could die after protesting peacefully against the greed of banks and corporations on an American street. This is a dark chapter for America’s police forces and it isn’t over yet.

UPDATE: Scott Olsen has been upgraded to fair condition according to a Nurse Supervisor..
