NYPD Surrounds Zuccotti Park, Arrests Over 100 Protesters

Today marks the two month anniversary of the OWS protests. In recognition of that, protesters held massive protests today in New York City. Over 1,000 protesters flocked to the streets around the New York Stock Exchange to protest, clogging traffic and clearly disrupting the flow around New York’s financial district.

Many protesters also attempted to re-take Zuccotti Park. MSNBC reports that Protesters struggled to push through the police and as a result, many of the protesters ended up being bloodied and arrested. In the end, NYPD kept protesters out, surrounded Zuccotti Park, and according to the NYPD Deputy Commissioner, about 175 protesters were arrested.

Protesters now plan to interrupt the subway system and hold bigger rallies in the coming days.
