It’s Christmastime again, and many people criticize the greed that seems to run rampant in America during a season which is supposed to be about family, and spreading good cheer.
Last year Bill Maher weighed in on this issue, and since the commentary is still relevant we decided to post it.
Wow, Oprah should be the darling of the right wing based on descriptions of her business acumen above. So, why does the right wing hate the rich so?
First of all, Oprah is not out any of her money for these “Marketing Give-aways” and that is what they are… Product Placement Advertising.
All those Pontiac Cars she supposedly gave away? Yes, she physically was the announcer but Pontiac was the one out the money, not Oprah, but she got all the praise.
Bill Maher is correct. Jesus would not understand today’s commercialism for his birthday, especially.
I hear ya Marcia… Oprah is a TYPICAL talking HEAD… really good at selling herself and making sure she “Gives Away” just enough to keep people coming back and saying “Please sir… may I have some MORE?!?” But then I’m probably just JEALOUS! Yeah… that’s GOTTA be it! *SMIRK*
Jesus would more than understand the commercialism of today. Take a look at what he did to the money changers in the temple..

Bill is absolutely right,this year forget the greed and give the money you would spend on dumb gifts and give to the less fortunate.
I am on disability but there are people that are homeless.Can’t forget about them!
