The Secret Life Of Rick Perry – Is He Gay? (VIDEO)

Rick Perry might have absolutely zero chance of becoming President of the United States, but he is still an important figure in American politics. He’s Governor of one of the largest states in the union. Rick Perry really likes to kill people, including children, the mentally disabled and the innocent. Texas is home to the largest stretch of the US – Mexican border. The actions of the Governor of Texas directly impact immigrant relations. There are even rumors of Klan ties. I could go on, but the fact remains that once Rick Perry is officially out of the running for President, Rick Perry, the influential politician, will remain. Perhaps it’s time that Texas take a look at their Governor.

Most of you probably know by now that Perry’s public employee salary dance includes a lot of double dippin’. Not only he is collecting his $132,995 salary, he’s also collecting a retirement pension of over $92,000 a year. While this is legal, it should certainly give the Republican voters, those who despise government and especially government salaries, pause.

Is Rick Perry gay? - There is an entire e-book describing, in some detail, two alleged affairs between Perry and men. From Jezebel:

In Head Figure Head: The Search for the Hidden Life of Rick Perry, which was published today, Maxey tells the story of a four-month investigation (conducted, oddly, mostly through Facebook messages and chats that he liberally reproduces) he collaborated on with an unnamed reporter. According to Maxey—who, while obviously a partisan, is as far as I can tell not a crank and served 12 years in the state legislature—he located two men who claimed to have had sex with Perry. One was a male prostitute who told associates that Perry had hired him three or four times a year for hotel parties with Perry and an aide. The other was a man who responded to a Craigslist ad allegedly posted by Perry. Along the way, there are dozens of other more tenuous second-hand reports, including one man linked to Perry who pointedly refused to deny the accusations.

It’s all very anonymous and hazy and who knows if any of it is true. But the fact that this is coming from a fairly prominent Texas political figure brings it out of the realm of pure rumor and offers an engaging little glimpse into how your news sausage is made (or in this case, not made).

The Jezebel article gets more explicit. If you’d like to read even more, you can purchase the book for $9.99.

While normally, I don’t give a rat’s you know what about dalliances between consenting adults, but Rick Perry himself made himself the target of inquiry when he said, “Even if an alcoholic is powerless over alcohol once it enters his body, he still makes a choice to drink,” he wrote. “And, even if someone is attracted to a person of the same sex, he or she still makes a choice to engage in sexual activity with someone of the same gender.” Perry also signed the gay marriage ban pledge.

He also, complete with a Brokeback Mountain jacket, released this gay soldier hating ad:

Even if the rumors turn out to be false, I’m actually beginning to get it. In the Christian conservative viewpoint, it’s okay to be gay. It’s even okay to have gay extracurricular activities, as long as you stay inside a very dark, dank, self-loathing closet.
