In December, the last American troops left Iraq, ending an unnecessary war that has lasted nearly a decade. Thousands of Americans were killed in the country and trillions of dollars has been spent on a war that never should have happened in the first place. But Rick Perry isn’t ready to end the loss of American lives and treasure.
During Saturday’s GOP Debate in New Hampshire, Perry declared that if he were elected President, he would re-invade Iraq and continue the war even though the Iraqis don’t want us there. Perry also falsely blamed President Obama for withdrawing the troops.
“I would send troops back into Iraq. Because I will tell you, I think we start talking with the Iraqi individuals there. The idea that we allow the Iranians to come back into Iraq and take over that country, with all of the treasure — in both blood and money — that we have spent in Iraq, because this president wants to kowtow to his liberal leftist base and move out those men and women.”
“He could have renegotiated that time frame. I think it is a huge error for us. We are going to see Iran, in my opinion, move back in at literally the speed of light. They’re going to move back in, and all the work we’ve done, every young man that has lost his life in that country will have been for nothing because we’ve got a president who does not understand what’s going on in that region.”
Watch the video:
Rick Perry would send troops back to Iraq to continue the war. The problem is that we would be invading a free nation that clearly didn’t want us there any longer. Such an irresponsible action would likely inflame the Iraqis and put our troops in even more danger than before. It would also inflame American allies and damage our image around the world. President Obama has worked hard to rebuild our image and Rick Perry would ruin that. He also shouldn’t be blaming President Obama for the withdraw of the troops. The withdraw date was set by George W. Bush in 2008 and President Obama did indeed try to renegotiate with Iraq to keep troops in the country but Iraq rejected the deal. America should not re-ignite the war in Iraq. It cost America too many young men and women and cost us trillions of dollars that has put us in the economic mess we are trying to fix. The last thing America needs is more war. The war in Iraq is over. Republicans need to get over it.

Why would anyone find this surprising? That the “Wholly Holy Macho Man” would reinvade Iraq is entirely consistent with his intellect.
Mr Perry. . Go F**K yourself. My husband has missed 35 months of our 72 months of marriage. He has missed 27 months of the 48 months of my daughter’s life, and in less than 7 months he will be back in Afghanistan. He is a combat arms guys, not some soldier that works on radios or vehicles. He gets shot at for a living, so the people you know don’t have to.
He and our friends have bled for this country, sacrificing their sanity and lives. You say the young men that have lost their lives were wasted? Are you referring just to the ones that came home in boxes and pieces or all of them.? They have all lost their lives over there. My family has given enough to this country and enough to your war profiteering buddies. You are not going to be satisfied until my husband is maimed or six feet under. Stop using our soldiers as sound bites for your screwed up political agenda.
Yet another shining example of why we NEVER need another Texan as president. EVER. Perry doesn’t want to send troops back to Iraq because of the danger Iran poses to the freedom of the Iraqi people–he wants to re-invade because our Military-Industrial Complex is pissed that the Iraqi gravy train is over. And because George Bush proved how much you can steal from the American people while a war like that is going on. Nearly 27 billion of our money, and all of Saddam Hussein’s “treasure” just–evaporated. Where’d it go? The same place all that money Bernie Madoff stole went. Into numbered offshore accounts, where the thieves can draw on it anytime they want. Does Bush Jr. look poor to any of you? He’s never owned a successful business or business venture–where does all his money come from?
But I digress. If the people who own Perry pulled his strings the right direction, I’m certain he’d invade Hawaii for them. Or Canada. Or Venezuela, so Chevron doesn’t have to pay to clean up their mess there. Or Botswana, if they suddenly discovered oil under it. Do we want, or need, another thieving puppet Texan in the White House?
Well, maybe–if the bathrooms really, seriously need to be cleaned, and he’s under constant supervision so he doesn’t steal the toilet bowl handles, or the toilet paper rolls, or eat the big mints. Wait, strike that last–chow down, Rick, you deserve that big mint!
God help us all.
“Rick Perry Would Re-Invade Iraq As President”
??? No he wouldn’t. He’d send a few thousand of our young people to die, but HE would just sit back and grin – more people he gets to be responsible for killing, as if being governor of Texas didn’t give him enough bodies to hang on the wall…
