Gingrich Forgets He’s A Serial Adulterer, Compares Gay Marriage To ‘Paganism’

It’s becoming a widely accepted fact that Newt Gingrich is a vile, putrid gas-bag (no offense to bags) who sanctimoniously adorns himself in the Big & Tall cloak of old testament Christianity. Mitt Romney’s primary opponent is so utterly obsessed with happy and content gay couples seeking the inevitable misery of marriage that he overlooks his own complete and utter lack of marital commitment, as stipulated in the bible he so keenly thumps in order to secure the bigoted, religious right vote. Like so many of his fellow Republican presidential candidates, Newt flagrantly eschews Matthew 7:1, “Judge not that ye be not judged.”

Despite having more marriages under his belt than J-Lo, Newt continues to viciously attack same-sex marriage. And being the master of trickery and Wheaties Box champion of prevarication, Newt is always coming up with new and exciting fallacious reasoning to discredit gay couples from marriage. After all, comparing same-sex marriage to marrying a dog is so hilariously outdated.
In a conference call with leaders from the Religious Right, Gingrich compared gay marriage to paganism.
“It’s pretty simple: marriage is between a man and a woman. This is a historic doctrine driven deep into the Bible, both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament, and [the attack on it is] a perfect example of what I mean by the rise of paganism. The effort to create alternatives to marriage between a man and a woman are perfectly natural pagan behaviors, but they are a fundamental violation of our civilization.”
Firstly, Newt must have been sleazing for Fannie Mae ands missed the bible study that focused on marriage since, for Newt’s part, marriage is an arrangement between a man and a woman…and his girlfriend, and his mistress, and his concubine. Secondly, Newt is clearly trampling over the “freedom of religion” clause enshrined in the first amendment by suggesting that Paganism, a worldwide religion, is somehow illegal to practice. Lastly, does Newt even know that so many of our cherished holiday traditions have been borrowed from Paganism? For example, putting up trees and decorating them with garland for Christmas. Newt Gingrich, a recent Roman Catholic convert, should not only understand Paganism but should understand that he’s actually a practitioner of it. Can anyone say Roman orgies? That is, the ancient tradition of fornication with individuals other than your husband or wife, which is precisely what Newt was doing with Callista before he asked wife the 2nd if she wanted an “open marriage“. Gingrich might as well put a horseshoe over his door since an “open marriage” sounds awfully Pagan to me.
Sadly, trying to rationalize with the religious right (or the power-hungry pretend one) is as fruitful as asking a dog why he licks himself.

Mr. Bickel,
I am honestly shocked that you, a pastor, called Mormons fanatical. Not that I don’t agree with you to some extent (I grew up Mormon), but really it’s calling the kettle black. What is the difference between heaven being a distant planet somewhere to live out eternity in paradise or St. Peter greeting you at the pearly gates of heaven to live with flying angels and such; and what’s up with hell? Burning fire eternal damnation…..really! I really think you should reconsider calling other peoples religions fanatical when it mirrors your own. Another point I want to make is that Newt may go through the motions of repentance, but he is full of hate, discrimination, bigotry and he is a liar. How does he continue to act like that and repent every Sunday and go back to doing it all on Monday over and over again without consequences. He is just not a good human being at all. He has no compassion or love in his heart except for his self. He will never be a good President, because he doesn’t give a damn about the people in this country. Look I am not Christian but I believe in the man Jesus that had a lot of beautiful things to say about how to live as a good human being. I wish Jesus could be President, he is a man with compassion and love and humility. These political men claiming to walk around following the footsteps of Jesus have no clue. They are all hypocrites.
rewinn,
I’ll grant that you have a free speech right to your opinion. But, your opinion lacks any substantiating support.
Michael Hayne,
Marriage and marital infidelity never seem to bother the mainstream lib / extremist media, (and even personalized commentaries such as yours), except for when they can bash a political Conservative candidate.
In the case with Gingrich, the lib news continues to bash Gingrich for what happened in his (relatively) distant past. They conveniently leave out the news that Newt became a Catholic Christian acknowledging his sexual sins and making his peace with God.
I’d rather have a repentant Catholic Christian as US president, than a Mormon of certain peculiarity.
Why don’t the media take time to zero in on Romney’s adherence to a religion which possesses some rather strange beliefs? It needs to take some time to reflect that there is a character question which arises out of Romney’s adherence to his religion.
Mormonism has it that when a Mormon believer dies, that person is qualified to own and reign on his own planet. If that is not fanatical, then tell me what is!
Furthermore, if you don’t believe what I just mentioned, go to Christian Apologetics Research Ministry – carm.org and computer mouse click, “Mormonism.”
Finally, I think it would be safe to say that our nation would be better off, with a repentant Catholic Christian leading it, rather than a Mormon who fantasizes that someday in his hereafter, he will be riding hee haw on some distant planet.
Oh – by the way, this commentary’s illogical argument bringing the Gospel of Matthew’s “Judge not” Scripture into play for purposes of bashing Gingrich, is, absurd:
Absolutes and Christ’s often misunderstood words of “Judge not…..”

If Gingrich would be living the homosexual lifestyle and campaigning these things, (about homosexuality versus genuine and traditional marriage), then, you might have a valid point. I will admit, though, that this personal commentary was an average attempt at the current “art” form of political correctness bashing.
Newt, and the entire modern GOP, worships Mammon.
