The Doonesbury Comic Strip Republicans Don’t Want You To See: The Saturday Edition
This has been one hell of a week for Garry Trudeau’s Doonesbury comic strip. It has gained national attention because it specifically deals with the Republican war on women and their right to choose whether or not they want an abortion. All week long, the brave woman seeking an abortion has been put through hell by the Republican Party of Texas. She had to meet with a Republican legislator who called her a slut. She then had to sit and be lectured about the transvaginal ultrasound. Then she was raped by the state when the “shaming wand” was inserted into her vagina. After going through the state sanctioned rape, she had to sit and be lectured by her doctor about the fetus. In today’s strip, she prepares to leave the clinic and has to withstand one last indignity forced upon her by the GOP.
Addicting Info has strived to bring our readers the Doonesbury comic strip every day this week. The reason we have done this (in case you haven’t noticed) is because several newspapers chose to censor it, all because it slams the Republicans and their attempts to humiliate and violate women. We feel this is wrong, as it deprives Americans from seeing an important point of view that shows the reality of the situation. Republicans especially do not want anyone to see this comic strip, because it portrays them as the chauvinist, sexist woman haters that they are. So without further adieu, here are all of the comic strips this week followed by the Saturday edition.
Despite the satire, the subject of the comic strip this week is not a joking matter. Abortion is an extremely personal choice that must be made by a woman with her doctor. Republicans have no right to violate that doctor/patient confidentiality. It is an extreme breach of privacy and personal liberty. Republicans always say they want government to stay out of our lives, but like the politician in the abortion clinic as featured in Doonesbury, Republicans want to regulate what we do with our bodies in private and quite literally want to be in the room when a woman seeks an abortion, and if they can’t ban abortion outright, they’ll humiliate and violate every woman who seeks one. We are proud to bring you these comic strips and hope you will continue to share them with others as we have shared them with you. Doing so is the best way to combat Republican censorship. Keep ‘em coming, SF. Good work. This attack on women’s rights MUST END. In November, be sure to have MANY local neutral (or left-leaning) election observers on the streets – with cell phones and video recording capability, to help insure against police intimidation and aggression towards voters. The GOP WILL be employing police, state troopers and skinhead thugs – again – to keep voters, especially women and the elderly, from voting them out.
They ALSO will hack the machines AND the count, and as many election officials as money can buy. They have stated this intention numerous times…

A trapped rat fights back ferociously, and these rats are hoist on their own petard – no candidates, no jobs, no facts. Be ready for as much trickery, chicanery and outright illegal restraint as they can muster – that means ALL police, military and civil government agencies will be “allowing” their “off-duty (but in uniform) troops to “assist” in directing black, elderly and young people to the polling sites – “Oh, did I get that address wrong? So sorry. Can I see some ID?”
The easiest way to short-circuit the GOP tactics is to vote absentee. Apply NOW, to get the process going. If you need docs, etc. you have time. But they can’t block you from going to the polls if your polling place is the nearest mailbox. And you have a paper, re-countable vote, harder to hack than a machine.
Then all they can do (and probably will where they can) is buy those who count the votes – just like they did with SCOTUS.
