Deadbeat Dad Joe Walsh Says Of Opponent’s Iraq War Injuries – ‘Ehhh’

Author: April 1, 2012 3:13 pm

Tea Party favorite and the country’s most notorious dead beat Dad, Representative Joe Walsh, (R-IL) is in a tough battle to keep his Chicago suburban Congressional seat against an opponent who is wheelchair bound from injuries sustained during the Iraq war. Tammy Duckworth, a Democrat, was one of the first female Black Hawk helicopter pilots in Iraq. During a mission, she was hit by an RPG. She lost both her legs and part of her right arm. Walsh’s response? “Ehhh.”

In an interview with Politico, Walsh said:

“I have so much respect for what she did in the fact that she sacrificed her body for this country,” said Walsh, simultaneously lowering his voice as he leaned forward before pausing for dramatic effect. “Ehhh. Now let’s move on.”

“What else has she done? Female, wounded veteran … ehhh,” he continued. “She is nothing more than a handpicked Washington bureaucrat. David Axelrod, Rahm Emanuel just picked her up and dropped her into this district.”

He sort of apologized later by saying,

“I often catch myself when I’m talking. I meant something other than how it came out.”

As a Congressman, Walsh has been plagued by scandal and the ability to plant his foot firmly in his mouth. He owes his ex-wife and children over $100,000 in back child support, which he refuses to pay. He’s famous for fits of rage, such as this incident, where he yelled at his own constituents.

Here’s the video:

Attacking veterans is nothing new for Walsh. He once called veterans who participated in the Occupy movement, “Anti-American.” He once said that the President was elected because he was black and he called him an “idiot,” although he later apologized.

Walsh’s erratic behavior hasn’t gone unnoticed. His approval rating is at 28% and he’s trailing in the race.
