Sarah Palin’s New Motto: ‘Frack Baby Frack’

Before you start screaming at me and saying that Sarah Palin is an idiot and no one listens to her, think again. She is a fixture on Fox News and like it or not, she has a following.

We all know about “Drill Baby Drill” but she has now added “ Frack Baby Frack” to her lexicon. She accuses Obama of forcing the US to be more dependent on foreign oil because of his “…killing the Keystone Pipeline…” and his “…mission of bankrupting coal companies…”

Perhaps Palin has failed to do the research on the dangers of fracking.  It is dangerous to our air, water and climate overall. But when you don’t “believe” in climate change, it must be easy to ignore the causes of it. Fracking is also a suspected cause of earthquakes.

Palin is wrong. Obama has not killed the Keystone Pipeline. Initially, he rejected it but has recently revisited the idea. Whether or not you agree with his decision, clearly, Palin lied to her flock of rabid fans and framed her words to discredit what the President is actually doing.

She’s not altogether wrong about his plans for coal companies but leaves out key information about the motivation behind it. Here is what he said about it:

I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.

That will also generate billions of dollars that we can invest in solar, wind, biodiesel and other alternative energy approaches.

The only thing I’ve said with respect to coal, I haven’t been some coal booster. What I have said is that for us to take coal off the table as a (sic) ideological matter as opposed to saying if technology allows us to use coal in a clean way, we should pursue it.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can.

It’s just that it will bankrupt them.”

The President must make tough choices and is sure to anger a certain group no matter what he decides. His motivation is for cleaner air. He wants to move this country away from foreign oil and find alternatives as mentioned in the quote above.

Palin, Fox News and all who wish to destroy his chances of re-election take what he says or does and twist them into a message to specifically anger and target those who agree with Ted Nugent. None of these individuals care about cleaner air. They care about their guns. They look at short-term solutions that have proven to be a detriment to our earth.

Palin, as usual, needs to get her facts straight before she opens her big, vile mouth. After all, she reads every publication that lands on her desk. Just ask Katie Couric.
