In The Battle For First Lady, Michelle Obama Is The Hands-Down Winner

There are times when even I buy into the mainstream media narrative. Perhaps I read too many blog comments, but I really was beginning to believe that Michelle Obama, as charming as she is, is considered a divisive figure while Ann Romney is some sort of patron saint to stay-at-home moms. Well, as it turns out, not so much. The First Lady is about as universally beloved as it gets these days and Romney’s following is, in blogger terms, meh. A CNN/ORC poll released Tuesday, shed light on more than just the battle of the wives. It also told us that Ms. Obama’s husband is far more liked than Ms. Romney’s.

In the poll, Michelle Obama enjoyed a whopping 71% favorability rating. Ms. Romney fared much worse with a 44% rating. 7% had never even heard of her and this is after she made headlines with the Hilary Rosen faux controversy. 22% of respondents had an unfavorable view of the First Lady while 43% had an unfavorable view of the woman who hopes to occupy the White House come January.

Interestingly, Mr. Romney had identical favorability/unfavorability ratings to his wife, while Mr. Michelle Obama got trounced by his wife while beating Romney by double digits. His favorable rating was 56% and his unfavorable, 42%.
