Everyone remembers the Republicans/Conservative chant that Democrats are soft on the ‘war on terror,’ soft on this…soft on that…so now that the President has decided to remind us that he is playing for keeps and that he did make the tough decisions that culminated with the death of Bin Laden, they are crying like babies that he should not say anything about his decisions and the victory he has given the US, after we spent billions to try to get Bin Laden in the first place.
I remind you, what the POTUS does is not for himself, but for the country. This victory he has given us makes us proud, the country as a whole was attacked and he has redeemed us, not himself.
Remember when the Republicans/Conservatives belittled John Kerry for fighting for this country? Remember when the Republicans/Conservatives belittled Max Cleland who lost extremities and is now in a wheelchair? They have made their careers attacking people who stand up for America, who sacrifice in some way for America, who give up everything…including their lives for America. Now they are after the POTUS because he made a decision that could have ended his political career if we had missed Bin Laden. What a shame. He took that chance…for America.
I was also ashamed to see Arianna Huffington and Dana Milbank jumping on the GOP rhetoric bandwagon. Many people are shaming themselves by jumping on that bandwagon and showing some of their true colors. This kill was for the country…these people apparently do not get that.
VP Joe Biden reminded us that the President is a ramrod and he has a big stick…well I say the job of President Of The United States is hard, so be equally hard Mr. President. Ram their disparaging comments right down their throats, because they fight a secret war against the well-being of the country as their actions prove. Be hard on those who are trying to tear this country down from the inside, for whatever reason. Be hard…and use that big stick. The country is better for it and we know we are safer for it. Rock on Sir…the country salutes you.
