GOP Newsletter In Virginia Advocates For Armed Rebellion If The American People Re-Elect President Obama

The Republican Party seems to already be sensing that they will be miserably defeated on Election Day this November. So as a back-up plan, a Republican newsletter in Virginia is openly calling for violently overthrowing the duly elected government of the United States should Democrats still be in charge.

The newsletter, known as “The Constitutional Conservatives” was published in March by the Greene County, Virginia Republican Committee and it included a column titled “Whitehouse Watchdog” written by editor Ponch McPhee. In the column, Mcphee trashed President Obama and said that if the American people fail to elect a Republican government, conservatives should arm themselves and take back the government by force. Here’s the text via Right Wing Watch.

“We have before us a challenge to remove an ideologue unlike anything world history has ever witnessed or recognized. An individual who has come to power within a Nation which yields it’s strength over the entire world. An elected leader who shuns biblical praise, handicaps economic ability, disrespects the honor of earned military might. In the coming days and weeks  ~ we the people must come to grasp as a common force, our very soul’s, that our future as a sovereign nation is indeed at risk. If every single individual that you know, would contact 25 other individuals  ~ we can make a difference that will be heard across the Commonwealth and in Washington. The ultimate task for the people is to remain vigilant and aware  ~ that the government, their government is out of control, and this moment, this opportunity, must not be forsaken, must not escape us, for we shall not have any coarse but armed revolution should we fail with the power of the vote in November ~ This Republic cannot survive for 4 more years underneath this political socialist ideologue.”

This isn’t the first time that Republicans have threatened armed rebellion if they lose a legal election. Back in 2010 Nevada Senate candidate Sharon Angle suggested “second amendment remedies” if the election didn’t go well for the GOP. And then there’s Texas GOP congressional candidate Stephen Broden. He stated that armed insurrection was “on the table” if voters didn’t elect Republicans in 2010. During that election year, Republicans basically held the American electorate hostage by threatening death and violence if the election didn’t go the way Republicans wanted it to.

And that leads us to this newest call for a violent overthrow if election results are not in the Republican’s favor. Once again, Republicans want to use “second amendment remedies” to bring President Obama and the Democratic Party down if the American people fail to give power back to the GOP in November. The Greene County Republican Party didn’t necessarily condemn this either. They merely included a disclaimer in the newsletter stating that the viewpoints expressed are individual in nature and may not represent the views of the entire party. But that’s a bunch of bologna. If the Greene County Republican Party really don’t endorse these views, they wouldn’t have allowed them to be published at all. But they did, and now Americans have once again been threatened with violence if they don’t vote Republican in the 2012 Election. Do we really want to elect a party that openly threatens the nation with violence and bloodshed if they lose a constitutionally mandated legal election? Such a threat after all is treason. I think Americans should call their bluff and elect Democrats in a clean sweep this November just so we can watch the Republicans throw a temper tantrum and retreat like the cowards they are.

Inciting armed rebellion, last time I looked, was treasonous activity. That nothing has been done illustrates just how corrupt and morally bankrupt our system has become.

Remember, these are former slave owners (historically, not personally – though you KNOW they would if they could, they’re doing their best with Citizens United and ALEC…) who want to encourage armed rebellion because they assume all the rednecks will just get their squirrel guns and follow along – and as long as Rush and Fox tell ‘em to, they probably will.

The PURPOSE of this violence? TO SELL BULLETS AND GUNS. TO CREATE A FASCIST POLICE STATE.

Sound crazy? Look at what the GOP is doing nationwide. This is a hostile takeover backed by the NRA and Christian fascists – and has a damn good chance of succeeding if we don’t demonstrate a sincere and well-armed ability to respond. (Don’t shoot anybody, for God’s sake – but let ‘em know that you CAN, and if attacked, WILL shoot back.)

BTW, Homeland Security is a joke when it comes to right-wing nutjobs. They only investigate left-wing nutjobs, until somebody gets killed. Then they investigate the ‘lone gunman’ with ‘no connection to any organization’ unless it is a militia – who disavowed his membership years ago for being too violent.

Happens every time. Be prepared, stay alert, and don’t let the GOP bully you into ANYTHING! Vote these greedy, misogynist, racist traitors OUT – 100%.

    REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!

  • Let us hope that voters in November call Republicans to account for the treasonous talk they seem to encourage, but at the very least condone. If not, we can kiss our democracy good-bye.

    • I made this comment in May – and it is still waiting Moderation?

      • Lowly peon here, speaking only for myself. Going to reply because I am currently not enjoying deleting mountains of spam comments to help some friends out.

        There are a few possibilities:

With 7,000+ spam messages flooding in per day (not kidding!), your message might not have ever been seen by a human. A good way to get caught in a spam filter is to use a lot of links, unpleasant language (epithets, insults, et cetera), posting in all lowercase or ALLCAPS, posting in a language other than English on a website that uses English as the default language, duplicating someone else’s message word for word, posting from an IP address that hosts a lot of spambots, and so on.

On rare occasion, someone wanting to pick a fight or insult another poster or self-promote is simply ignored as not being worth the time or energy to moderate the inevitable avalanche of responses telling that someone that they are wrong or obnoxious or posting to the wrong website or all three. Seriously. This is AI’s living room, not anyone else’s. They have a right not to want to host unpleasant guests on their site–using their bandwidth, forcing their human moderators to spend real time playing playground monitor, et cetera–if those unpleasant guests are making other guests upset.

Failing any of that (I don’t know one way or another but I do have a personal blog myself), and since I have no idea what post you’re talking about and don’t recognize your board name, I am going to take a wild guess and assume that your message was probably mistaken for spam or overlooked. Mistakes happen.

If it doesn’t show up, don’t assume malice. Assume that a human being hit the wrong button.

(Unless, of course, you feel that your post might have been perceived as “superfluously unpleasant,” “attacking other posters,” or “likely to start a huge useless time-wasting Internet slap fight.” If that applies, then you have your answer.)
