Family Gives Oklahoma High School Students Copies Of Graphic DVD Comparing Abortion To Holocaust
School officials are charged with protecting not only the bodies of our children, but their minds as well. When our children step into school, it is expected that school officials will do their utmost to prevent controversy and keep kids from seeing and hearing things one shouldn’t be exposed to in school. But one high school principal failed to do his job, allowing a family to expose students to a graphic anti-abortion DVD comparing abortion to the Holocaust. And parents as well as students are outraged.
Produced by Christian ministry Living Waters, the film, titled ’180′ shows images of Hitler, concentration camps, and the Holocaust. If the film had been just a documentary about the historical horrors of Nazi Germany, the film may not have been such a big deal. But the film went on to compare abortion, the women who have them, and the medical professionals who perform them to the Nazis while comparing abortion to the Holocaust. The film was an attempt to expose and indoctrinate students to the right-wing evangelical point of view. The principal actually told the family that they could pass around the film but wanted permission from parents to do so. But the family didn’t wait. Instead they handed out the DVDs and two classes were actually subjected to watching the film before school officials realized their mistake and took away the DVDs.

Here’s the full report via Fox 23 in Oklahoma.
The Holocaust is responsible for the horrific deaths of over 6 million human beings. The Nazis used poison gas, firing squads, and other methods to put men, women, and children to death. The medical procedure known as abortion is not even close to being the same thing. Since Biblical times, fetuses have never held the legal status of being a person. Both the Bible and the Constitution are consistent in this regard. Fetuses also cannot feel any pain until well into the third trimester when the brain is more fully formed. Science has conducted multiple studies to prove this.
Abortion and the Holocaust are not the same. Abortion is a legal and necessary medical procedure that can save the lives of women. All women should have the right to choose to have an abortion. But these religious anti-abortion fanatics are hell-bent on ending the privacy and personal liberty of women across the country which is dangerous to freedom.
This incident is clearly a violation of separation of church and state. A clearly religious family was allowed to press their extremist views onto kids who were not part of their family. And they did it against the wishes of other parents. The school should have known better and most certainly should have escorted the family off campus. This family had an agenda and they succeeded in pushing that agenda into two classes full of students. This should never have happened and someone should lose their job over this.

I just wish that pro-choice parents would be up in arms enough to sue the school AND the jerks who handed out the disgusting death porno.
These abortion/Holocaust and pro-choice/Nazi comparisons are omnipresent in the rhetoric of the anti-abortion crowd, but those who use this sort of rhetoric in support of anti-abortion views do so contrary to history and logic itself. In Nazi Germany, all family planning clinics were closed with guns in the immediate aftermath of the Enabling Act; advertising or even displaying contraceptives was banned; abortion was made, in the words of historian Richard Grunberger, “one of the most heinous crimes in the Nazi statute book.” Doctors who performed the procedure were initially sentenced to 6-to-15-years in prison; later, this was upped to the death penalty. This reflects the state of affairs under every one of the other major fascist movements, as well. Those at the “Living Waters” ministry throw out these comparisons, but the Nazis were on THEIR side of this issue, and–it’s worth noting–remain so to this day (fascist orgs like the American Nazi party and the various iterations of the KKK remain fanatically anti-abortion).
