New Hampshire Senate Kills Anti-Abortion Measure Added to Unrelated Bill

The New Hampshire Senate chose to protect women’s rights on Wednesday when the body killed an anti-abortion bill that would have required women seeking an abortion to wait 24 hours before having the procedure.

House Republicans tried to sneak the provision into an unrelated tax credit bill for businesses in response to the Senate killing the same anti-abortion measure earlier this year.

This is not only a victory for women in the state of New Hampshire, it’s a victory for sanity, privacy, and personal liberty. The New Hampshire House has been one of the more conservative legislatures in the country, passing bills requiring that all proposed legislation cite the Magna Carta , trying to kill lunch break laws , and even pushing other anti-abortion legislation that forces doctors  to falsely link abortion to breast cancer. The House is clearly full of Tea Party members. At least the Senate still has reasoning skills.
