Rick Santorum’s New Website Shows An 80% Approval Rating For…The President

Author: 11:21 pm

Former Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum hasn’t completely taken himself out of the political scene. He has a brand new website, Patriot Voices. The website says that the “defeat of Barack Obama, and those who support his policies” are the first priority. It goes on to say that Obama has a radical agenda, but the users of his website disagree. On the first page, there is a poll asking,

Do you strongly approve, somewhat approve, somewhat disapprove, or strongly disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling his job as President?
80% of the respondents approved of the way Obama is handling his job. Only 17% strongly disapprove.

Obviously, this isn’t a scientific poll. There is a link for “detailed results” which has a different finding. 24% strongly approve, 21% somewhat approve, 10% somewhat disapprove while 45% strongly disapprove. Presumably, these results are a conglomerate of all the polls put out by CivicScience.com, a polling company with clients such as the Teamsters and the IBEW along with their largest client, the National Rifle Association, but nonetheless, the users of Santorum’s site are voting overwhelmingly in approval of the President.

Santorum calls his website grassroots, but on the site, he admits that it will be working closely with his SuperPAC, Red, White & Blue Fund, which has over $7.5 million, mostly from big donors, such as billionaire William Dore of Dore Energy Corporation who gave at least $2.25 million. Of course, that $7.5 million will be just a drop in the bucket in this election cycle. Since Citizen’s United opened flood gates for billionaires, it’s estimated that at least $6 billion will be spent this year, the majority against Democrats.
