Florida’s Governor and reptilian, Rick Scott, made headlines for his blatant acts of voter disenfranchisement in the form of massive purges in that state of Florida, including ripping a 91 year-old WWII veteran from the voter rolls. Gov. Scott claims that going after traditional Democratic voters is not a “partisan issue” and he has steadfastly defended his despicable actions. Ironically enough, Rick Scott’s attempt to purge the voting rolls in Florida is not only hugely unpopular, but it is actually availing Obama’s lead in the state. But when have facts and polls ever stopped the Right from waging their pernicious, self-important battles? We got WWII vets out there who want to vote and that’s as un-American as paying your taxes.
During an appearance on Fox News Monday afternoon, Gov. Scott declared his intentions to sue the Department of Homeland Security in order to obtain access to a database that it believes will provide more accurate information on the citizenship status of Florida voters.
“The Florida’s Secretary of State office will be filing a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security to give us that database,” Scott said. “We want to have fair, honest elections in our state and so we have been put in a position that we have to sue the federal government to get this information.” (Think Progress)
Apparently Scott’s totally righteous battle against evil big government’s efforts to hide illegal Mexicans comes in the face of the Department of Justice imploring the Republican father of bat boy to abandon his efforts.
Neil Cavuto pressed Scott on why he was continuing these efforts when many objections were coming from Florida Republican leaders and Supervisors.
