With the Republican war on women so bravely being fought on the front-lines of right-wing radio and television, it’s easy to forget that the Republican war on gays is the World War I of manufacturing outrage to distract from a toilet economy. In recent days, we’ve learned of ways to electrocute gays and even how to smash the gay out of them (the power of Fox News compels you!), and now we’re learning that liking the same-sex is exactly the same thing as sticking a delicately wrapped tail pipe into your mouth and sucking down formaldehyde and ammonia.
Ultra-conservative mayor Janice Daniels, Mayor of Troy, Michigan who’s currently fighting for her political survival in a recall, once again confirmed that running for office is the most dangerous gateway drug.
During an appearance on an area morning radio show, Daniels evidently reached a scientific breakthrough when she compared the dangers of the “homosexual lifestyle” to the dangers of smoking cigarettes.
“What I said while I was mayor…I was in a business meeting, I come from a business perspective…I said that I would bring a doctor into a meeting that would say that the homosexual lifestyle is dangerous,“ Daniels told host Charlie Langton on Talk Radio 1270, according to CBS. “Had I been with a group of smokers I might have said I would like to bring a doctor into this meeting to say that smoking is dangerous.” (Huffington Post)
A more befitting argument to make might be to suggest bringing a psychologist into the voting booth with voters to help them avoid the dangers of voting for people such as Daniels.
When pressed on whether being gay was dangerous in and of itself, the Mayor of Troy didn’t exactly answer in the affirmative, but she didn’t rule out the possibility of doctors making a case for it. At the risk of sounding redundant, a more befitting study would be for doctors to find an existing link between being the mayor of Troy, Michigan and being a sociopathic imbecile with Javier Bardem from No Country for Old Men hair.
Luckily, it seems if the 7,985 signatures collected form the group Recall Janice Daniels are successfully verified, the recall issue will be put to Troy voters in the Nov. 6 general election.
