Romney To Governor Scott – Your Good News Is Clashing With My Narrative
One of the biggest issues of the 2012 election is who can create more jobs, President Obama or Mitt Romney. With a dropping unemployment rate since August of 2011 (excluding last month, of course), it’s hard to argue that what Obama is doing isn’t working. The U.S. is, despite the roadblocks set up by a Republican Congress, crawling out of the Great Recession that the president inherited from George Bush.
“But, Shaun!” you might say. “The president had a Democratic majority in the House and the Senate from 2008 to 2010. Why didn’t he get more done then?!” Read up on what a filibuster is or, better, how many times the Republicans used it, then get back to me.

Unfortunately, a dropping unemployment rate, more jobs, and a better economy is not good news for Romney and the Republican Party. That’s what most of their platform this election is built on – the idea that President Obama cannot do what’s right for America. Only Romney can fix it. If Romney can’t get elected, then all of their obstructionism over the last four years will have been for nothing!
Here’s the issue: Romney isn’t the only Republican trying to get elected. No governor, for example, wants to say that they haven’t created any jobs, or that the local economy is crap because of their leadership. But, according to two of his campaign officials, that’s what Romney wants them to do.
Governor Rick Scott of Florida has seen eleven straight months of dropping unemployment numbers, and asked his supporters to spread the news on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. This did not bode well with the Romney campaign.
According to an article on ThinkProgress.org (emphasis mine):
“Since positive economic messages directly contradict Romney’s central campaign push — convincing voters that Obama has made the economy worse — the Romney campaign would prefer to downplay any signs of recovery.
“In fact, the Romney campaign has directly asked Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL) to “tone down” his positive statements about Florida’s improving economy because they inconveniently clash with Romney’s national narrative. Two campaign officials confirmed that Scott has been asked to instead say that his state’s economy would improve under a Republican presidency…”
Awww, poor Mitt Romney. Is reality too inconvenient for you? Well, you know what? Too fucking bad. Facts aren’t always going to favor you (especially you), no matter how much you try to ignore them or alter them. You can either adopt a different strategy, or pray that the unemployment numbers rise for June and July.
I’d go with the first one. The latter option would kind of make you sound like a dick.

Unemployment has been over 8.2% for the last 42 months. And that doesn’t even include those that gave up looking long ago. Include those and it’s about 12%. That’s what tards consider working?
“The U.S. is, despite the roadblocks set up by a Republican Congress, crawling out of the Great Recession that the president inherited from George Bush.”"
The root cause of the collapse was Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The Bush admin saw that train wreck (which was initiated by the Clinton admin) waiting to happen in 2003, tried to initiate and pass regulations (ya know those things that the tards now think are so important), but the tard party was the tard party of NO. For several years the Bush admin and republicans in congress tried, but the tard party was the party of NO to regulating the GSE’s. In fact the tard party duped the voters so well using the class warfare and the race cards that they didn’t need regulating, that they were able to take over congress in 2006 to ensure that the GSE’s would not get regulated. Then 2 years later when they and the whole financial system fails, the tard party blames it on the republicans. Simply amazing.
The tards had control of congress the last 2 years of the Bush admin when the economy began to fail and unemployment started to rise. The tards had control of congress the first 2 years of the bonobo admin. When unemployment was 7.8% (see your chart) in January of 2009, bonobo and the tards guaranteed with their $800 billion stimulus package that the unemployment rate wouldn’t go above 8%. By October of ’09, after almost 3 years of tard majority in both houses 10 months after bonobo took office, it was 10% (again see your chart). Since then it’s been over 8.2%. Bush’s average unemployment rate was 5%. And you tards think what bonobo is doing is working?????????????
Mitt Romney has built businesses. He’s created jobs and prosperity. bonobo is an inexperienced community organizer who has never had a real job in his life, let alone created one. Welfare has doubled under him. How is that really “working” for ya? Now seriously, who do you think is more qualified to finally get the unemployment rate back down to 5% and America’s fiscal house back in order?
And, btw, the tard’s Dodd-FRank Bill doesn’t even address the GSE’s. You call that working?
There has been before Obama even took office a PLAN to make him Fail. McConnell pressed all elected republicans to sign a pledge and make as their number 1 priority to make Obama a 1 term president.
this they have done by taking hostages, by obstructing every bill Obama likes, even their own bills, Not to be in favor.
They also have told their supporters to no hire Anyone, while Obama is president! And even more.
Mr. Issa is pushing for a congressional investigation of this pact and the congressmen who took part in it.
Here is hoping they find too much evidence to dismiss this. Any one person may have known of a few things, while another may know about some different stuff. So, hoping they go ahead and investigate this!
They have prevented maybe one of the greatest presidencies to languish. Except it hasn’t languished!
During his first 2 years he managed to get his affordable health care through to success, against the obstruction of the GOP. He also got us out of Afghanistan and several other accomplishments.
it’s late and I’m too tired to remember them all.
People argue, “why didn’t he do _____ while he had a dem. house and senate? He was too busy getting Other things done! It takes time to accomplish that kind of things.
We really shouldn’t settle for a “is there anyone else” candidate, who says that “LAWS are for Little People and SUCKERS!”.
