It’s all a plot I tell you! First, Americans demand affordable health care. Then the President and Congress give us something, not perfection, but still better than 45,000 people a year dying just because they can’t afford or don’t have access to the middle-corporation (corporations are people, my friend) that stands between the people and actual healthcare. Now, under the Affordable Care Act (or “Obamacare”), those who can’t afford the middle-corporation will get help and those who have been turned away by the middle-corporation will now have the privilege of paying the middle-corporation without worry of being dropped as a customer after paying said middle-corporation tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars, with no return for their investment.
Like I said, it’s not perfect. Perfect, of course, would be to remove the middle-corporation, but removing corporations from politics is a bit like removing the foundation from a house, at least in this post-Citizens United era (that was only two years ago?).
Okay, back to our story. First, Obamacare. Then, a bunch of Republicans, political pundits and ‘Fair and Balanced’ Fox News hosts got together and told us that supplying more customers to the middle-corporations is somehow “socialism” or “communism” or “fascism” or something-ism. Did I mention the fact that they told them that the President was going to kill all our Grandmas? If there’s one thing all Americans can agree on it’s that we love our Grandmas.
The people rebelled! ‘Obamacare’ went to court and it kept going to court until it climbed to the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court of the United
Corporations States, where Obamacare now faces a court that always (that’s not an exaggeration) rules with the US Chamber of Commerce. (Did I mention that the US Chamber of Commerce doesn’t like ‘Obamacare? Did I also mention that the US Chamber of Commerce represents companies that aren’t even US companies?)
Former Presidential Candidate Michele Bachmann thinks she has it all figured out. Time Magazine wrote an article about the only unpredictable vote on the court, Anthony Kennedy. According to Bachmann, Time Magazine really wants ‘Obamacare’ (for some reason) so they sent their best reporter/hypnotist/goon to “influence” Kennedy into voting their way. From Raw Story:
“I think that what we need to recognize is that the left is committed to outcome-based Supreme Court decisions, they want what they want, bottom line, the end justifies the means, they want socialized medicine, they want the government to control it and so they are not above doing anything that they can to influence that one swing voter,” she explained.
If Time Magazine’s evil plan works, according to Bachmann, the world as we know it will end. It won’t matter that those of us who choose an entrepreneurial route (in hopes of one day being job creators) will finally have health insurance, because if we’re smart, we’ll be holed up in bunkers and bomb shelters.
“By everyone’s estimation, Anthony Kennedy is the justice who will make the decision if we have socialized medicine, which in my opinion will be the end of our Constitution and the end of our republic as we know it. It will bankrupt us, there is no question Obamacare will do that, and it will change our relationship to government forever,” Bachmann added. “I think it will be one of the final — so to speak — nails in the coffin to our country.”
“If he makes that decision and if he is succumbing to flattery in the media — and these are human beings we’re talking about — he could potentially be persuaded to go the way of the left, that could be, and I think that’s why it wouldn’t surprise me at all that we are seeing these big, flattery pieces.”
Here’s the audio:
The court is expected to rule on the Affordable Care Act next week, just in time for us to redefine the Fourth of July holiday in observation of the fact that we’ll no longer have a country to celebrate.
