The Apple Fell Far From The Tree – Brad Pitt’s Mother Doesn’t Approve Of Obama Or Gays
It seems that Angelina Jolie isn’t the only half of ‘Brangelina’ that has a controversial right-wing parent. Jolie’s father, Jon Voight, was once a highly respected actor. More recently, he’s become known for semi-coherent right-wing rants. A letter to the editor of her local paper revealed that Jolie’s mother-in-law’s views are far more in line with Voight than with those of her son, Brad Pitt.
A letter from Jane Pitt to Missouri’s Springfield News Leader said that she is a Christian whose views differ from those of the Mormon religion, but nonetheless, she called Mitt Romney, “(a) family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality.”

Romney’s opponent, President Obama, on the other hand, is “a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.”
Her son, Brad Pitt is a longtime advocate of LGBT rights and a liberal. Brad hasn’t said anything about his mother’s letter to the editor, but his brother Doug had this to say on Monday’s Today Show:
“Moms and dads and kids agree to disagree all over the world, so why would our family be any different?… There can be healthy discussion when people disagree with you, and I think there should be. The bad thing is when it turns into venom and negativity and we don’t have that in our family. It’s open discussion, we can learn from each other … maybe you learn something.”
