seriously? this is all you could think of? what do homosexuals have to do with this? for most corporations you would be fired if they found out you were gay. THAT is an entirely different issue and has no place here.

Dona, are you serious.. Corps do not fire people for being Gay. lol.. that is lawsuit and fed discrimination case time.. what century do you live in anyway.. shows how uneducated you are.. or is it that you don’t work and live on welfare so that you have no real clue about workplace law.

Corps would find a legal reason to fire you to get around the fact they can’t fire you for being gay.

ummm… Alpha Papa… you’re mistaken. Until October 2009 Homosexuals were not a ‘protected class’ under federal statutes and were fired by corporations regularly in states where there were not discrimination protections. Even now they can be fired by religious corporations and organizations such as the Boy Scouts who can cite that they are privately owned religious organizations. It is expected that the addition of GLBT peoples as a protected class will be challenged. Not to mention that individuals are often fired for different reasons than are cited in the company files. Especially in states which are “right to work” (i.e., ‘right to fire’) states where cause need not be given unless a contract is being broken.

So, you see, you’re actually showing your own ignorance. While discrimination has decreased, it does still exist, and gay people are fired, beaten and killed for being gay even today – regardless of the advances which are being made on an ongoing basis.

Corporations fire people all the time for invalid, illegal and spurious reasons, including an employees sexuality, they just misrepresent or lie about the real reason if they are required or deign to give a reason at all.

    Aaron,

Unions protect workers’ rights. Corporations protect profits. Unions were formed to insure fair compensation for labor. Corporations were formed to maximize accumulation of capital. Apples and oranges my friend. Apples and oranges.

Oh, and I’d like to add that corporations also can’t poop. At least not in the traditional way.

I think impeachment is in order on the grounds of being bought and paid for..lack of basic understanding and ability to discern the truth and reality. Blinded by greed. Shame on the Supremely Corrupt Court. I don’t know how the other justices can stand to sit in the same room with these criminals.

Can corporations get married or divorced? No.

    Can corporations reproduce? No.

Can corporations get a driver’s license? No.

Can corporations be sentenced to jail? No.

Can corporations get away with MURDER? Yes.

Corporations are NOT sentient beings. And neither are the five Supreme Court justices who found on behalf of Citizens United. This is the worst decision from the high court in a century, and is the legacy of the Bush administration. Elections DO have consequences!

Bruce, I worry that it’s only a matter of time…

And why would they need to register to vote when they can simply BUY their way into congress.

While this is true about corporations, what about unions? They do the same thing as corporations do, and they get away with it cause they are more in the pockets then those of anyone else. Double standard for all of you liberals on everything

Aaron, you’re full of $hit. Unions don’t pollute. Unions don’t seek profit from wars. Unions don’t bestow 8-figure golden parachutes to their outgoing executives in times of loss. Unions don’t put profit above all else. Unions don’t commit anti-trust. Unions don’t seek the same rights as humans beings under the law. Unions DO look out for the little guy, something that corporations would find unthinkable.
Double standard? LOL! Conservatives invented double standard!

I’m never quite sure if conservatives intentually put out false information or if they are just stupid. In either case, Aaron, you are indeed full of shit.

When you are comparing, please use the word “than”. When you are talking about time or sequence, feel free to use “then”. Also, cause and ’cause (a slang term) are actually not used interchangeably. Typing something along the lines of cause versus ’cause into a search engine can usually help you achieve the meaning you are trying to convey. Once you discover the correct meaning, you may even want to use the word “because” for the sake of formality. I guess you can learn quite a lot from a person versus a corporation.

I would like to point out that in most places, homosexuals can’t get married (and therefore not divorced). No one is saying that they are not people, are they? Think about what you are saying, before you say it, please?

Homosexuals can get married and divorced, just not with the partner of their choosing.
Also here in Texas, the court allowed two men who had been married in another state to file for and receive a divorce even though the state did not recognize the marriage as valid in Texas.
