Stephen Colbert Mocks Romney’s Inability To Relate To Regular People (VIDEO)

Stephen Colbert has enjoyed making fun of Mitt Romney. Everything that Romney has done or said has literally become a nightly punchline and a source of unending humor. And that’s funny because Mitt Romney is the least humorous American in this country right now. In fact, he could be the most bland person to ever seek the White House.
On Wednesday night’s edition of The Colbert Report, Mitt Romney’s blandness and inability to relate to common Americans was once again highlighted and added to by Stephen Colbert.

“I don’t know why, but Mitt Romney has gotten this reputation as a guy who can’t identify with the common man, no matter how hard he fires them,” Colbert began. “Love’s overrated. It can be disappointing when it faded over time, but with Mitt, there’s no magic from the start.”
Colbert showed clips of Romney trying to relate such as Romney talking about his wife’s Cadillacs, dissing cookies from a local business in the town he was in, saying y’all and liking grits and that “strange things are happening to him.”
“Yes, strange things,” Colbert responded. “Thanks to the Blue Fairy he’s becoming a real boy. Well, on Monday, Mitt once and for all dispelled his image as a detached tone deaf body snatching pod creature. At a fundraising dinner in Mississippi, in front of donors who paid up to $50,000 to attend, Romney showed just how much he gets the plight of the working Joe, saying ‘I know that people in this room are probably doing relatively well, but not everyone in America is doing so well right now. The waiters and waitresses that come in and out of this room and offer us refreshments, they’re not having a good year.’”
Apparently, Romney felt he could relate to struggling people better by embarrassing them in a room full of wealthy people. Classy. But Colbert struck back.
“I’m guessing their year felt worse and worse as the night went on. Nation, that is how a candidate connects with the average people. Because there is nothing blue collar Joe’s like more than having their struggles pointed out to a room of rich people they are serving.”
Colbert then used the Romney strategy on a willing intern. Saying it was hilarious would be an understatement, but he sure made Romney look like an a-hole in the process.
