The Colbert Report Report: For when you don’t have time for the whole show!

Poor Shepard Smith…It’s almost like he knows he’s surrounded by insipid, lying weasels and it’s started to drive him mad. Mad, I tell you! Colbert opened last night’s show by highlighting both Shep’s propensity to wow liberal talking heads and stun conservatives by going on what could generously be called “wild tangents.”

I’m looking forward to Shep Smith having a nervous breakdown on air. Don’t lie, so are you!

Colbert goes on to lambaste the media for the sheer amount of empty nonsense it reported after the Auroa, Colorado tragedy: The ABC “Tea Party” connection that wasn’t, Breitbart.com’s claim that the killer was a Democrat…and then he wasn’t and the “professional” analysis that was like watching a dog chase its tail. It would be funnier if it hadn’t been so sad to watch.

The final segment was an interview with filmmaker Vikram Gandhi about his latest project, Kumare: The True Story of a False Prophet in which Gandhi pretends to be a spiritual guru. It’s not quite Borat in the sense he was not mocking his “followers” but Colbert, of course, looked for the absurd. And found it.
