The Colbert Report Report: Romney’s An AS(s), Sexy Bible Reading And Gun Control (VIDEO)
Last night, Colbert took on Mitt Romney’s dog whistle politics by highlighting the absurdity of claiming President Obama doesn’t understand what it means to be “Anglo Saxon” by making it clear that neither do most Americans. Afterwards, he gave lie to Romney’s recent series of “You didn’t build that” attacks using Romney’s own words (a recurring theme in this campaign). But Colbert proved that one man can do it all alone by performing ‘The Word’ by himself after he fired his entire “credit vampire” staff. The results were as funny as they were tragic. RIP Stephen Colbert…

Following his miraculous rescue from certain death, Colbert was properly outraged, OUTRAGED, that a hotel replaced the Bible in the nightstand with 50 Shades of Grey, “They’ve replaced the Book of Job with the Book of Rim Job!” But not to be outdone, Colbert touts the sexiness of the Bible (“Three ways, Goat ways, Yahwehs, hot suff!”) with a few choice passages and some porn music. This part is a must see.

Rounding off the show was an interview with Dan Gross, President of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. Colbert hit him with every vacuous right wing talking point about gun tragedies, “Isn’t it more appropriate to have a moment of silence about guns and just continue that moment of silence until there’s another tragedy like this and then we have another moment of silence after that?” Gross rose to the occasion and pressed his point that people are murdered everyday and that there are things we can do to stop it.
