The Republican Party is adding a human life amendment to its official platform coming out against abortion, at this point, without exception.
“Faithful to the ‘self-evident’ truths enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, we assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed. We support a human life amendment to the Constitution and endorse legislation to make clear that the Fourteenth Amendment’s protections apply to unborn children.”
In the form of a salute the draft also applauds the anti-choice legislation that has been passed by state legislatures including ultrasound bills, mandatory waiting periods, and clinic regulation.
A Romney spokesperson stated Monday, August 20th, 2012, that “a Romney-Ryan administration would not oppose abortion in instances of rape.” Ryan who has voted to oppose abortion in instances of rape has agreed to defer to Romney’s position. The Republican platform is still in draft form so we’ll just have to see won’t we.
McCain, who was in favor of abortion in the cases of rape and incest, and wanted to change the wording of the plank was told it would be political suicide probably by the same people who recommended he choose Sarah Palin as his running mate.
No mention this time round has been made of incest so little Peggy it looks like you’re stuck having Uncle Joe’s baby.

The first line of the first section of the 14th Amendement states that “All persons born or naturalized in the United States…”, “born” a fetus isn’t born until well it is born so it can’t be a citizen so trying to use the 14th amendment to try to make their case is wrong. I still don’t get how Mitt and Ryan or any man for that matter, feel they have the right to dictate what a woman does with her body. I’d like to see them push a watermelon sized object out of their freaking bodies and see how they feel afterwards.I’m sure their opinions would chage really quickly.
Selected planks from the GOP’s 2012 platform:
- Women who use birth control are sluts.
- A chicken in every pot, and a spy-cam in every uterus.
- Abortions performed in certified medical clinics must be banned, no matter the circumstances of the pregnancy. Much better to have said procedure performed with a wire coat hanger in a back alley, or with a chemical coat hanger provided by a non-accredited physician in a dingy third world doctor’s office.
The 2012 Republican Party platform is so extreme, they might as well convert it into a gallows, since the party leaders seem to be compelled to politically hang themselves.
