A Tale of Two Conventions: The Manipulated Vs. United States of America

It’s been said many times and will be said many more, the positions between Republicans and Democrats this election couldn’t be more obvious. And nowhere was party distinction more on display than at the two conventions.

Tune out the speeches and rhetoric, and ignore the platforms and platitudes. Instead, just picture the audiences in Tampa and Charlotte. Remove any props indicating party affiliation or candidate preference. Zoom in on the crowds…

Notice anything?

If you’re ideological or prejudice, challenge yourself. Objectively focus on both constituencies. Beyond obvious characteristics – like age, ethnicity, and attire – what other differences do you find?

If you share my perspective, Republicans appear angrier and more frightened, while Democrats seem to be having a blast… One party looks American gothic, an angry town hall of frightened villagers wielding pitchforks, pledging allegiance to a fictitious and sterilized ideal, while the other party is engaged in a festive, teary-eyed group hug.

The 2012 election is not between Republicans and Democrats. This is a choice between two existing Americas: one that is manipulated to fear, hate and dismantle the United States government, and another that is longing for accountability, a government of the people, by the people, and for the people… not corporations, my friends.

Don’t fault the mob for their pitchforks and torches. When people are manipulated, they become guarded and suspicious. Spooky America is a dark and deceptive place, where bloated men with megaphones and sponsors pump fear into your heart, suffocating the soul until judgment is impaired.

The frightened are not the enemy. They are the victims of an old and deceitful game, where truth and deeds are irrelevant, rules no longer apply, and few – least of all, the mob – ever win.

Each of us has a choice this election. You can dislike America for not being a fictitious ideal, dismantle the government and programs generations prior built for our well-being and protection… Or, live freely and pursue happiness, celebrate the more perfect union America continues to become.

Don’t be a hater. Dream again. Demand progress and accountability.

Vote for liberty and justice, for all, assuming the GOP allows you to vote.

Oh republicans and democrats are EXACTLY the same, except for democrats wanna raise taxes on the wealthiest 1% while republicans wanna tax the middle class since, apparently, millions or even BILLIONS isn’t enough to live on. Oh and republicans want to add a “personhood amendment” which would ban abortion and even worse, CRIMINALIZE miscarriages. Then there’s the ban on gay marriage, God forbid ALL AMERICANS have equal rights, theres the equal pay law for women law (the 1st law obama passed as president), that Bush blocked while he was in office and republicans (including romney and mccain) voted AGAINST but Obama had the majority to put it thru then, republicans want to eliminate social programs such as food stamps, WIC, CHIP, Medicaid, Medicare, pretty much any government assistance. Oh and of course Obamacare, which doesn’t allow insurance companies to screw u over for “preexisting conditions”, allows kids to be on UR insurance til they’re 25, gives FREE preventative care such as pap smears and mammograms, and FREE birth control which should make pro lifers happy cuz that’ll DECREASE THE NUMBER OF ABORTIONS!! Other than ALL THAT, ya they’re EXACTLY the same. Go look at who passed what law cuz saying the 2 parties are the same is sheer IGNORANCE!!
