Amanda Rubio In Hospital After Accident
Yesterday, near the Rubio home, Amanda Rubio, the 12-year-old daughter of Senator Marco Rubio, was involved in a golf cart accident. She was rushed to the intensive care unit at Miami Children’s Hospital with a head injury. A spokesperson for the family said the accident occurred while she was visiting friends.
At the time of the accident her father was campaigning with Mitt Romney in Kissimmee, FL. He was notified as he left the stage at the event. In order to help the Senator, the Romney campaign detoured its motorcade in order to get Rubio to his daughters hospital quicker. The former governor took the time to make sure that the father of four was with his family, and offered his support.

Both President Obama and Vice President Biden called to offer their support to the family, and Governor Romney sent a message of support with the Senator.
Senator Rubio is a minority in Washington DC, keeping his family in his home state with frequent trips. Most who serve instead bring their families to DC. The use of golf carts for travel within small communities is common in Florida.
Partisan politics takes a hiatus on a few occasions. The injury of a child is one of them. The most we can do is offer our hopes for a speedy recovery to Amanda Rubio and comfort for the Rubio family. While we disagree with Marco on policy, he is a loving family man who thinks the world of his kids.
