Key 2012 Endorsements Of President Obama For Reelection

As we approach the final few days of the hotly contested 2012 Presidential Campaign, here are lists and links which reflect  many of the rich, famous and influential in America and which presidential candidate they endorse. What is noteworthy is that President Obama has recently gained several key endorsements of widely respected moderate Republicans…many of whom have not only praised the President’s leadership—but also, have been openly critical of the extreme direction of the far-right, Tea Party-controlled Republican Party.

Endorsements for President Obama

Here are just some of my personal favorites…the full list (above link) and categories are impressive indeed!

Political and Business/Economy:

  1. New York City Mayor, Michael Bloomberg: A MODERATE, INDEPENDENT, ONE-TIME REPUBLICAN and billionaire business icon.

  3. Charlie Crist: INDEPENDENT/MODERATE REPUBLICAN, former Florida Governor

Scientific Community:  Note: I omitted a shorter list of scientists, as it is lengthy and they may not be as publicly well-known. Given the most recent endorsement by Mayor Bloomberg, however, and his interest in the threat of global warming, which factored into his decision amidst the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, the full list of scientists endorsing President Obama is indeed an impressive read! And for Romney? Here’s a similar list of Mitt’s endorsers, most of whom simply don’t impress me —many that don’t surprise me either. Among them, the Des Moines Register (in their first endorsement of a Republican since Nixon and one that repudiates THEIR OWN positions re: their 2008 Obama endorsement; The Washington Examiner (The anti-Post); televangelist Billy Graham; actress, and celebrity shoplifter, Lindsay Lohan, and former Arkansas Governor and Fox News Host, Mike Huckabee (now calling on the “Wrath of God,” threatening “eternal damnation” for those voting for Obama”).

Note:  Though not an official endorsement, New Jersey Governor, REPUBLICAN, Chris Cristie…(a recent Obama critic & Romney surrogate) was certainly effusive in his praise of President Obama’s “leadership, caring, concern and interest” in the face of the Hurricane Sandy natural disaster. No wonder Rush Limbaugh’s whine is reaching such a feverish crescendo…now derisively calling the Obama – Christie bipartisan rapprochement and cooperation “man love”! Poor Rush…I really think he may just explode.
