Teacher Suspended For Allowing Student To Play Gay Marriage Song In Class by Tiffany Willis:

Susan Johnson, an eighth grade performing arts teacher at Centennial Middle School, was asked by a student if he could play the song Same Love by rapper Ben Maclemore. Johnson asked the student questions about the song to ensure that it didn’t include violence or profanity, and he said that it did not, so she allowed it.  Once Johnson realized the song’s topic matter, she thought that it was something her students could learn from. However, not everyone agreed. Another student went to the school office and complained. Read more

Alabama Attorney General Tells KKK ‘Kiss My A**’ (VIDEO) by Tiffany Willis:

A letter written in 1976 went viral this week. In 1970, the newly elected Alabama Attorney General, 29 year old Bill Baxley, reopened the 1963 16th Street Church bombing case that killed four young African-American girls and injured countless others. This enraged many people, specifically the Ku Klux Klan. Read more

Is The Associated Press Trying To Start A War With Iran? by Nathaniel Downes:

It’s the end of November, time to start the war drums again. This time a piece by the Associated Press is spreading the accusation that Iran is developing a nuclear weapon. Their evidence, a single graph given to the AP by “officials from a country critical of Iran’s atomic program.” It was released under the condition of anonymity, and the AP is protecting this source. The graph according to the anonymous source is “proof” that Iran is producing nuclear weapons. Read more

President George H.W. Bush In Hospital by Justin Acuff:

One member of the Bush family isn’t doing too well these days. Former President George H.W. Bush, father of George W. Bush, has been in the hospital since the day after Thanksgiving. It’s because of a chronic cough, and he’s been in and out of Methodist Hospital in Houston for a few weeks. His condition is listed as stable and he’s expected to be released during the next 72 hours or over the weekend. Read more
