Rational conservative and MSNBC host Joe Scarborough made the argument that talk radio ‘bullies’ such as Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh should metaphorically be punched in the face by politicians.
Scarborough pointed out that “Some people still think on the far, far, far right—very few though, I’ve got to say—that it’s still a week before the election.”
“Mitt Romney — and we said it non-stop — for two years, he would never stand up to these bullies. And so, they framed his campaign and he got his tail whipped.”
Here’s the video:
“What do you do to a school yard bully? You punch them in the face. Do you think any of these people on talk radio, if they’re punched in the face by a Republican nominee, do you think they would push back? No, they’re cowards. They’re bullies. Punch them in the face, and they back off. Bullies do that.”
His criticism of the ‘conservative entertainment complex’ also included those who oppose tax rate increases in order to avoid going over the fiscal cliff. He said “conservatism is a racket for a lot of people to get very, very rich.”
He argued that GOP candidates felt pressure to follow the orders of the bullies on talk radio and the result was disastrous.
More and more conservatives, including Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter, are admitting they must face the fact they lost and the rich will have to pay a little bit more. Mitt Romney should have punched talk radio and lunatic pundits in the face. He didn’t. The American people did.
