The David Pakman Show – Lt. General: All This Spending Isn’t Making Us Safer (VIDEO)

Pakman & Gen. Robt. Gard

Retired Lt. General Robert Gard, Chairman for the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation, joins David to discuss his editorial, “Get real and cut Pentagon spending.”

David begins the conversation by positing that, aside from the “necessity” discussion about Pentagon defense and missile spending, there is a whole other issue: “political spending” driven by political interests. The general responds with:

“The Secretary of Defense just sent a 4-page, single-spaced memorandum to the Chair of the House Arms Services committee objecting to the fact that in the defense authorization bills is 8 billion dollars of expenses that Congress added for projects in their district and states that the administration does not want.”
