Anonymous Takes On Rape Culture: Leaks Video Of Steubenville Jocks Mocking Rape Victim (VIDEO NSFW)

Correction: I mistakenly conflated two different stories in this article. Both involved a 16 year old girl being raped and photographed while unconscious by two local high school sports stars that were being protected by their sports crazed community. However, Savannah Dietrich was raped in August of 2011 and her close call with jail time occurred summer of 2012, shortly before the victim (her identity is currently unknown) of the second crime was raped by Mays and Richmond this past August. Their trial is set for February. The second rape is the subject of the Anonymous posting. Savannah’s legal ordeal is concluded with no jail time for her but only weak justice for her attackers. In my defense, it never crossed my mind that there could be two stories this disturbing yet almost identical in surface details. I’m not sure which is worse: that I mixed up two stories or that the stories existed in the first place for me to confuse. All errors are confined to the first paragraph. The rest of the article is accurate.

I guess it doesn’t pay to ignore Anonymous. Back in August, a 16-year-old Savannah Dietrich risked going to jail for tweeting the names of her two rapists. Why did she feel the need to do this? Because her hometown of Steubenville, Ohio is so enamored of its sports that it seemed odd to punish two star lacrosse players for stripping Savannah naked and penetrating her with their fingers while she lay unconscious from too much drinking. And it wasn’t like the court had to take her word for it. They took pictures and videos. Then they put it online. Still, the rapists got a slap on the wrist (community service) and Savannah faced jail time for tweeting their names after a judge told her to keep quiet, essentially ordering the victim to protect the identity of her rapists.

This is rape culture in all its glory. Star athletes are more important than their victims even when there is no doubt they are guilty. Wouldn’t want to ruin their lives or anything over some girl who got drunk and should have known better, right?

Their names are Trent Mays and Ma’lik Richmond, by the way. We here at Addicting Info do not believe rapists have a right to have their identity concealed unless they’ve paid their debt to society and have been deemed to no longer be a threat. These two animals have done neither.

As it turns out, these rapists had friends that thought it was funny as hell their buddies attacked an unconscious girl. And because they shared their friends’ combination of callousness and stupidity, they recorded themselves laughing about it the same night.

And then Anonymous got hold of the footage.

About two weeks ago, Anonymous released a statement that the names and information of everyone involved in not stopping the rape, taking pictures and covering it up would be made public unless they all came forward to publicly apologize to Savannah. They didn’t, so Anonymous made good on its threat.

Now we have a 12 minute video that clearly shows the faces of several Steubenville jocks laughing at how Savannah’s rape. The video mostly centers on Michael Nodianos, a baseball player, as he can barely contain his mirth at Savannah being “so raped.” If there is any justice in the world, this groups of sick bastards, that allegedly call themselves “The Rape Crew,” will have their lives forever ruined by being outed as sadistic creeps.

Here is the video that is sideways for some reason (warning, it’s far worse than I can describe and may contain triggers):

  • I wasn’t aware “rape culture” was a thing.

But for anyone who’d willingly do that to an other person, I’d say that’s called 10+ years in prison and paying every last one of the therapy fees for the victim.

  • What YouTube did is criminal, allowing this to be published (but I’ll bet if some copyrighted music was playing in the background, they would have pulled it in a heartbeat! Can’t have any lawsuits now, can we?) What was criminal, is these pigs being brought to full term, when they should have been aborted 20 years earlier.

What is criminal, is their parents, who raised them to think like this. (I am sure their dads are telling the same ‘jokes’ in their break-rooms!)

Ahhh, the beautiful, moral, religious, righteous, Midwest. The ‘heartland’, where life is so pure (and boring), that RAPE is entertainment. Let’s order a pizza and watch the next quarter!!

Let us truly hope the world in fact ‘ended’ on 12/21/12, and that this cancerous variety of our species will start dying off, and begin a clean up of the human gene pool!

This is not even about ‘hatred’. Hatred takes a certain amount of thinking and justification, commitment to an ideal (no matter how distorted and un-evolved). This, is just pure ignorance, not a single brain cell could be created from the entire consortium poured into one Petri dish!

    • Way to go amassing all those stereotypes! You sure showed them.

Look, I’m as fired up about this as you are, but really, spewing hateful insults at television’s representation of generic Midwestern culture (which for all you know, could be a complete lie).

Foremost, I doubt they were religious at all. As for the “moral” and “righteous” parts you’re just being a religious bigot because that’s really all you know how to say at this point.

Putting an athlete above a rape victim is sickening, I agree, and there’s no standing for such madness. But please, can we stop with the spewing of old, tired stereotypes? Makes you look like a real drone.

I am Savannah Dietrich.. This story is inaccurate. I live in Louisville, Ky. I have never been to Steubenville. I’ve been having people contact me believing it was me. My case is closed. Our cases our similar, but different. This story blended both of our stories together.. I don’t know how to report this article or to get the writer to take it down.. Don’t believe me? Go on my public Facebook page as a “public figure” as Savannah Dietrich and you can even see all the statuses I made throughout the case and the one of me saying I am not that victim. I was attacked by 2 Lacrosse boys here in Louisville and they attempted to held me in contempt etc.. The pictures were discriminated I do not know if they were on the Internet. Nor is the video of this monstrous boy is anyone I know or could even assosciate with. We come from two different cities.

  • Thank You Anonymous.

  • The rape culture is so firmly embbeded in our society we don’t even recognize women as a protected class under hate laws.

This is just a tiny first step in shining the light on this sort of hatred.

  • Just give me 20 minutes with the guy in the video, and the one filming it. In a locked room. THE END.
