As much as the religious right would like us to believe that they “hate the sin but love the sinner,” this story should make it clear that they don’t love LGBT people. In fact, they want them left unseen and unheard.
Actor Neil Patrick Harris, who is best known as a womanizer in the show “How I Met Your Mother,” is in fact, an out gay man. In a promotion that has nothing whatsoever to do with his sexuality and everything to do with the very manly sport of football, Harris had the date of the Super Bowl painted beneath his eyes, in a way similar to the way Tim Tebow paints Bible verses.
Wel, apparently eye paint should be reserved solely for Bible verses, at least according to Joe Kovacs of the super right-wing World Net Daily.
New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow won’t be playing in this year’s Super Bowl.
But CBS, the television network airing the big game this year, is now using an outspoken homosexual actor to mimic Tim Tebow’s style of trumpeting messages in eyeblack on his face.
During Sunday’s matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens, the network broadcast several spots promoting the network’s upcoming Super Bowl coverage in New Orleans.
More than one featured Neil Patrick Harris, star of “How I Met Your Mother,” wearing eyeblack with the date of Feb. 3, 2013 inscribed, reminding viewers that Super Bowl XLVII would be on CBS on that date.
There’s no word on whether WND would also like to ban gays using paper, since that’s the chosen medium of most modern Bibles.
Not surprisingly, WND is conducting an online survey and 36% of their viewers (the largest block) agree that CBS and its advertisers should be boycotted because of it. Presumably, the same 36% of readers felt that it was wrong to boycott Chick-fil-A for their anti-gay agenda. Another 12% feel that it’s offensive.
