Lewisville Police spokesman Captain Kevin Deaver told KRLD that the shooting involved a female employee at one of the stores. Captain Deaver’s recorded statement is available on the CBS DFW website.

“It was a domestic dispute with an employee who works at one of the businesses at the mall. Mall security was notified. They were in the process of escorting him out of the building when he pulled a handgun from his clothing and shot himself,” Deaver said. He continued with “No one else has been shot.”

The incident occurred near a courtyard inside the center of the mall near Kay Jewelers.
