Obama Snubs Fox News Sunday Talk Show, Prefers To Talk Nukes With Iran

The White House boycotts Fox News Sunday Talk Shows, but will talk with Iran

Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace mentioned that he couldn’t get anyone from the White House to appear on his show to discuss President Barack Obama’s State of the Union Address, and his administration’s second term agenda, according to Jim Hoft from the Human Events conservative blog. He also jealously mentions that Obama’s perfectly willing to talk with Iran … so why not Fox? Gee, I can’t imagine why. Breanna Edwards’ “Sunday Talk Show Tip Sheet” from Politico shows that Obama’s team members made appearances on all of the other three major news networks. Perhaps this impromptu personnel shortage has something to do with Fox News’ much-vaunted ‘fair and balanced’ news coverage, which, of course is not fair and balanced at all.

This isn’t the first time Obama’s White House has black-listed Fox News, and denied access to their evil slaves of Mordor … um … ‘journalists.’ As many of us may remember, the Obama administration famously feuded with Fox News during the first year of his presidency in 2009. Brian Stelter’s article in the New York Times quotes Anita Dunn — then the White House’s communications director — explaining:

“We’re going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent. As they are undertaking a war against Barack Obama and the White House, we don’t need to pretend that this is the way that legitimate news organizations behave.”

Fox News host Glenn Beck had also made controversial remarks that sparked an advertising boycott. Bill Schine — Fox’s then senior vice president for programming — added “Every time they do it, our ratings go up.” Apparently, Obama’s first year in the White House was attracting extremely high ratings for FOX.

So now, Fox News finds itself in the strange position of seeming way less reasonable and “fair and balanced” than Iranian officials, with whom the Obama administration agreed to one-on-one negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program back in October, 2012. Apparently, Chris Wallace never got over the sting of this first rebuke.
