Michael Bishop, a retired chemist, Texas landowner and former climate change denier, joins David to discuss the attempt by Transcanada to take over his property for the Keystone XL pipeline.

It started in 2008 with a letter he received telling him his property had “been selected” as a potential route for the Keystone XL pipeline. Mr. Bishop was not as keen on that idea as they were:

‘They tried to put me in jail, basically on my own property, and that, that irritated the devil out of me.’

  • I love Karma. Typical response from his type of Fox news watcher.

  • So what exactly does this story have to do with his no longer being a climate denier?
It is more of a person being held to the standards they demand on everyone else, and they’re not liking it one bit.

Gosh, now that he’s a Libertarian why is he turning to government to help him :)He’s a tad confused. From a Libertarian perspective the oil company should be the hero – they’ve succeeded – they are the “job creators” – can do what they want until someone/thing with more power puts a stop to them.

    • How is he turning to government to help him? Because hes using the court? TransCanada is using the government to steal his property (which I always thought was something “progressives” supported). So he is trying to convince the government not to allow them. Libertarians are against eminent domain, altho a lot dont realize how much ED the Keystone pipeline entails. I refused to sign a pro-Keystone petition at a libertarian convention because of the ED issues and I expressed that to the canvasser.

And we are not socialists. Just because someone is a “job creator”, doesnt mean its ok for them to steal property in the name of job creation.

  • Sound just like the congressman who changed his mind about gay people when he learned that his son is gay…
