Gun Advocate Declares Democrat Hunting Season, Encourages Assassinations (AUDIO)

Nothing says patriotic like threatening your elected politicians with assassination, at least according to Dudley Brown, head of the Rocky Mountain Gun Owners. In an interview with NPR, he has called for the opening up of a new hunting season, akin to deer season, which would instead be a “Time to hunt Democrats.” You can hear him on NPR here:

We should hope that Dudley Brown did not literally mean to hunt down and kill Democrats, but the fact is, he used that language in an attempt to make his case. There are people unconnected to Mr. Brown who will take such language at face value and, as a result, hunt down and kill people due to the rhetoric. This is a form of terrorism called “Stochastic Terrorism.” For those unfamiliar with the term, here is the definition:

The use of mass communications or social media to incite individuals not directly tied to the source to carry out violent or terrorist acts that are statistically predictable but individually unpredictable.

By his call out for a Democratic Hunting Season, and putting that out to his base who could potentially associate hunting season not with peaceful protests or getting out the vote efforts, but instead the targeted killing of another living thing, the results are predictable. Someone not directly associated with Mr. Brown will hear his words, take them literally, and give him what he’s asking for. From an earlier Addicting Info article titled “Fox News == Terrorists,” the way stochastic terrorism works is summarized so:

This is the method of terrorism performed by Osama Bin Laden during his life. He would “suggest” that it would be “nice” if something were to happen. His network of brainwashed affiliates would then carry out the suggestion. It is a very old tactic, as Henry II of England famously uttered, “who will rid me of this turbulent priest?” The death of Saint Thomas of Canterbury, thanks to these words being carried out by four of Henry’s knights, Reginald fitzUrse, Hugh de Morville, William de Tracy, and Richard le Breton, has been forever etched into history as a result. King Henry did not order them to kill Saint Thomas, but the death came from his words nonetheless.

By the use of violent rhetoric to put out a notice and create a “hunting season” against those who do not share his extremist views, Mr. Brown has shown himself to be nothing but a domestic terrorist and should be treated as such. There is no room in civilized society for violent rhetoric against elected officials of either party, and it needs to be disowned by the pro-gun lobby. He already left the NRA, calling it not extreme enough and “kissing up to politicians.”

A gun advocate too extreme for the NRA making threats against politicians, that is not a patriot. That is a terrorist.
