Sex To Blame For Recent Tragedies? Yes, According To One Group And No, It Wasn’t WBC

The conservative Family Research Center (FRC) brought the stupid out in a statement released Thursday about the big middle finger the Senate gave to America by obliterating the chances of passing even the simplest gun control bill.

If Congress wants to stop these tragedies, then it has to address the government’s own hostility to the institution of the family and organizations that can address the real problem: the human heart. As I’ve said before, America doesn’t need gun control, it needs self-control. And a Congress that actively discourages it–through abortion, family breakdown, sexual liberalism, or religious hostility–is only compounding the problem.

Gosh this sounds an awful lot like another group. I can’t remember who it is…hold on let me think…..Oh, U.S. News figured it out for me!!!

The tiny Topeka, Kan., fundamentalist group urged the U.S. government to “reinstate” the death penalty for homosexuality and warned “violence will fully consume u [sic]” if that doesn’t happen. Most of the church’s tweets said same-sex marriage caused the bombing, but others mentioned abortion and supposed mistreatment of the church.

THAT’S RIGHT! FRC sounds just like America’s favorite group of idiots, Westboro Baptist Church! Isn’t that funny?! A council that says the real problem is ‘the human heart’ sounds just like the most vile hate group in the country. Wonder if they realized that when they made their statement. So according to the FRC (a branch of the WBC apparently) we don’t need gun control, we need self-control. That somehow ‘sexual liberalism’ is to blame for a person the mass shootings in Aurora, Newtown, the bombing in Boston, really? I didn’t realize what happens in my bedroom or bedrooms across America somehow contributes to someone going out a murdering a bunch of people. We all must be having some really mind-blowing sex! Honestly, where is the connection here? I must be missing something, unless the FRC is saying, just like the WBC says, and God is punishing us all for our sins. AND they didn’t end their stupid there! No, no they were on a roll of dumbness. Let’s see what else they had to say.

In a truly bipartisan vote, the Senate spoiled the White House’s chances for eroding the Second Amendment–and privacy rights–through a government overreach on firearm background checks.

The Senate “spoiled” something alright, they spoiled the chance that a background check might save one life. They must be so proud of themselves! I hope that money the NRA gave them is nice and warm at night. Also, how in the world is a background check going to violate privacy rights? Furthermore, how does it erode the Second Amendment? The Second Amendment has two very important words that the right always seems to forget about,’well-regulated.’

Amendment II: A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Well regulated does not mean unfettered access to guns, it means exactly what it says well-regulated. Universal background checks would be on the road to making sure weapons are well-regulated but why should the right take the time to actually understand what the Constitution that they so religiously quote? That really just would be very silly. They also went on to describe President Obama as being ‘unpresidential’ because he was angry that the victims of these shootings are not getting any sympathy from the people who are supposed to serve them. Goodness knows that it wouldn’t truly be a statement unless you are implying that Obama is being the angry black guy again.

This week we’ve heard a lot of crazy from the right about the cause of the Boston bombing; We’ve heard a radio host tell the families of the Newtown families to ‘go to hell.’ Conservatives immediately tried blaming immigrants, ArabsMuslims, the usual right-wing suspects for any crime; but the FRC and their claims that sexual liberalism and abortion was by far, hands down the funniest. Oh, right-wing crazies, how you never cease to amuse me. I would like to thank the Family Research Center for giving me a chuckle at the end of this hellish week.
